Mixing Fish Attractants/scents
I started using Megastrike just a few years ago,and I really like it. A few years later I got some stuff called Pro Cure Super Gel in the Trophy Trout scent.I like this stuff too. Since I like both products,I have been thinking about setting the Megastrike out until it becomes runny, and topping off my 1/2 bottle of Pro Cure with the Megastrike and then mixing the 2 together. Put it in the cooler for a few minutes and the Megastrike should have solidified a little. So anyone ever done this with their favorite attractants? Am I stepping into the Catfishing realm,LOL? Im not too sure about doing this mixture based on the possibilty of chemical compounds in each attractant having an adverse reaction, causing the whole mess to turn into a pure liquid that is no longer Gel Like with the ability to adhere to the baits im using it on. Suppose I could just do each application of attractant on a bait individually...

Bass Pro/strike King Disappontment
Kinda find it odd that as big a company as Bass Pro is,that they wouldn't stock that item. Sportsman Warehouse in Tucson has it in stock, and as far as I know,Bass Pro is a WAY larger company than Sportsman Warehouse. Sportsman Warehouse doesn't even have an online catalog, the last time I checked, the only thing SW website showed was their locations. As many pros as there are sponsored by Bass Pro AND Strike King,I was certain I'd find the product in the store.

Bass Pro/strike King Disappontment
Went to the Tempe Bass Pro Shops yesterday and as always im just like a kid in a candy store,as im sure many of us are at such an establishment. I am starting to get interested in spoon fishing.Havent given it a try yet,but im stocking up on varieties of different types and sizes Bass Pro carries a large assortment of Strike King baits, however, there was one bait I was looking for in particular, that the sales guy said they didnt carry. Strike King Sexy Spoon. This was a little mind boggling to me.Is it not a good seller. Of all the places I thought would carry a Sexy Spoon,I was sure Bass Pro would. The sales guy suggested I hit up one of the catalogs for "Northern States" anglers,it would likely be in there. Yea I know its in the catalog and online, but I was very surprised to not see it on a peg in the store. Yes im a little bummed, but Bass Pro is still a place I gotta visit every time im in the Phoenix area(a 3 hour drive for me),even if they fell short of my expectations this time.

Anyone Ever Use These On A Dropshot?
The Dropshot is my number one producer, because of this,Its my Favorite and also my "GO TO" I can fish my lake and come up with just about anything that swims in this lake. Ive caught Rainbow Trout in the depths when its 100 plus degrees out and the Trout are supposed to be dying from the heat. Ive Caught Bluegill,Green Sunfish and of course Bass, alot of Dinks, but Bass, nonetheless. Picked up these baits at Sportsmans warehouse. Never knew they existed, and really stumbled upon them on accident. Ive searched the internet and it seems these are discontinued, cant find them anywhere else.$1.99 per Jar of 5 baits was a deal to me.Each bait is 3 inches long, and they are "Salty Craw" flavored I normally throw a 3" inch Berkley Dropshot worm(Looks like a really small, slender Senko) and I pull in Dinks left and right. This bait has a little bit of a larger, meatier profile,so Im hopin I can get into some better fish.Plus,if they work, theyll last forever,as long as I put them back in the jar. Anyone use them with success?

Scored On Rage Craw Purchase
Bought 64 individual baits on eBay which were listed as Black/Neon "Batwing" Craws for $23.99 with free shipping! I knew exactly what I was looking at when I saw the pic in the auction. Thought maybe these were gonna be knockoffs, but they have the Strike King and Rage Tail right on the claws. Plus some have a random number on the claws. And they have that distinct coffee scent. So if ya do the math,I basically got 9 packs of Rage Craws for $2.66 a pack.Pretty good deal in my book. Now I gotta get a strategy together for using them...suggestions?

What Lure Are You Going To Teach Yourself To Fish This Year?
Ive got Senkos down,Ive had some success with Spinnerbaits,Ive caught plenty on a Trigged Baby Brush Hog,I think I have mastered the Dropshot (Its my go to when I just wanna catch "something",even dinks) Ive been on the lake 3 times this year and thrown Crankbaits(Rapala DT6 and DT10) and have caught "some" fish. Last year I killed em on a Rapala X Rap... So lately for some reason I have been stocking up on Spoons. Ive seen videos where people are haulin in real nice fish from the depths with them, and I cant remember the last time I hooked into even a 3# fish. So I have my arsenal of spoons ready(Jigging,Fluttering, casting ect),but im betting the farm that if they dont produce, ill hit the ol Dropshot again. Note to self: Your doubting yourself, put the "Dropshot" thought out of your mind...Spoons WILL produce!

Correct Installation Of Abu Garcia Axle Clip (Pn 20090)
I have a brand new Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6000 which has never been cast. I was having some issues with it binding when I would reel it at times as I was trying to adjust the spool tension knob. Sometimes there would be no binding but the spool tension was way to loose. I took off the spool tension knob and discovered that one of the ears for where the black Axle Clip attaches to the axle was broke off. It caused the axle clip to sit cockeyed, and I think this was the issue causing me a bit of trouble. So Ive ordered a new axle clip, and I have read somewhere that theres a right and wrong way to install this piece. Whats the correct way? One side is flat, and one side is raised with the "ears" that clip onto the axle. I read something about the ears go in towards the spool and NOT towards the spool tension cap...Is this correct?

Straightening Out Pork Baits
That's great info,I've never fished any kind of pork baits before

Straightening Out Pork Baits
Picked up some Uncle Josh Pork Drop Shot baits yesterday at Sportsman Warehouse. Not sure how long they've been in the bottle of brine, but some of them are a little kinked.I'd like to see about making them straight again...anyway of doing this? I know plastic worms can be straightened by boiling, not sure about pork though.

Leader Length On A Drop Shot
How does everyone go about setting up the depth at which they present thier bait this rig. I normally take the line and measure out one arms length and that's where I put the hook. Anyone noticed a change in the quality of fish they catch on a Drop Shot based on whether the bait is sitting a higher or lower area on the main line?

Favorite Size And Rigging Technique For Rage Craws
So the RageCraw comes in a few general sizes. There's the Rage Chunk for Jigs, the Baby Rage Craw (3 inch),the 4 inch and then there's the Lobster(4.5 inch). What's everyones favorite/most productive size and rigging technique for this particular bait?

Best Overall Color/size For Topwater Prop Bait.
Just ordered a Norman Weedwalker. Seller wants me to choose a size( 1/4 and 1/2are available). Seller also requests I choose a color. Choices are Chartruese,Black,White,Olive Frog or Bulldog. My lake has a good amount of matted milfoil, and the water is pretty clear. What's an all around good universal color for all conditions, sunny, overcast, day and night? What about size. My thoughts are 1/4 oz will be easier to keep up on the surface, but won't cast as far. 1/2 oz will cast far,but will require more speed and effort to stay up "on plane".

What Kind Of Fish, If Any, Would Create Bubbles?
I have been in 4ft of clear water and could totally see the bottom. No Vegetation and still the bubbles were rising. I suppose that would have been methane

What Popular Lure Have You Tried But Had No Luck With?
I know Rage baits are all the "RAGE" but I have only caught 2 Fish on Rage baits. Both were on a 10" Anaconda. One of the fish was about 7 inches long and the other maybe 13 inches. Im about to get fired up again however and give Rage Craws another try,Ive thrown those and the Space Monkey with nothing. Ive T-Rigged em,Ive "Rage" rigged em with the keel weighted hook, and nothing, but I see the fish BIG O is haulin in and im just dyin to get hooked up. I have gone to BPS and blown almost $100 on assorted Rage products, and it just wasnt happening.I have faith though. Ive also thrown all kinds of Rattle baits,Excalibur XR50,Rattle Trap,SK Red eye,Cordell Spot...Hauled nothing but water.

Anyone Recognize This Yamamoto Bait?
Found this is in a bag of assorted tackle I picked up a few years ago. The bag its packaged in is YAMAMOTO and the bait looks to be YAMAMOTO as well. However I cant make out the name of the particular bait model on the tag. Its 4 inches long, has a very FLAT profile and a tail that is spear shaped. Id like to figure out the name of this bait,in case I have great success with it on a DropShot,I know what to look for when its time to replenish. I wanna say Shad Shaped Worm, but I had this bag a little while prior to the Shad Shaped worm coming on the market. Ive compared the 2 and this one Im asking about sure isnt a Shad Shaped Worm... Pic from the side,VERY THIN

Damiki 4" Pen For Dropshot?
Ya know your right. Its strange how things are. Something that isnt appealing or natural looking to our eye, maybe totally tantalizing to the fish. Take for instance a old Creme Scoundrel worm,Straight tail, nothing fancy. Ive heard of putting a "kink" in the bait so that upon retrieval,it spins and rolls in the water a bit. Looks totally stupid to me,but according to old timers this totally works.

Damiki 4" Pen For Dropshot?
Picked up a bag of these in a lot of assorted tackle. They look like an absolutely killer bait for a Dropshot, which is what I think they were intended for. I rigged up a dropshot rig with some line I had laying around the house, and tried it out in my 55 gal Aquarium. Im not digging the action. If tension isnt kept on the line, the bait sinks like a rock with no action. Also when I keep the line tight and work it like I would my rod in the boat out on the lake,I gotta say the action appears pretty unfavorable. I like the bait, but other than a Dropshot, what could a 4" Straight tail(sinking) worm be used for with success? Anyone else ever used this bait on a Dropshot with success?

Modifying Plastic Worms
Was wondering if anyone modified plastic worms straight out of the package.Turning an ordinary Curl tail into something Like a Kinami(Yamamoto) Kut Tail worm. Anyone ever take a regular Curly tail worm about the same length as the Kut tail, and lay the Kut Tail on top as a pattern and Trim the tail accordingly. I know a Culprit or any other worm(Berkley,Zoom ect) wont be the exact same as each is poured with different materials, salt ect,but anyone think this train of thought would work in making your own Kut Tail worms? If so,May save a bunch of money on trimming your own VS Hunting for the Real Yamamoto Kut Tail worms. Thoughts?

What's Your Favorite Crankbait?
I haven't been throwing crankbaits much in all the time I've been fishing, but a Rapala DT6 or DT10 has been getting a few fish for me lately. I'm about to upsize things and start throwing a DT16. I also have had some success with the smaller Excalibur/ Bomber Fat Free Shad crankbaits. I have probably 40 different cranks of all makes, sizes and depths, and the Rapala DT's and Fat Free Shad are what I reach for the most.

What's Your Favorite Spinnerbait?
For me its a toss up between Rick Clunn Lucky Strike Trickster and a Strike King Bill Dance Spin Dance . These are the only spinnerbaits I have really spent time throwing, and have had success with. The fish in my avatar was caught on a Spin Dance Spinnerbait. Though not a "giant" fish,I feel its pretty respectable.

Confused About Cranking
So I have started throwing Cranks recently and have had limited success.Im confused about the whole depth thing when it comes to crankbaits. Say I am throwing a Rapala DT-16. Well ideally this bait is supposed to dive to 16 ft of depth. Now as far as boat position, water depth and casting whats the best course of action to be successful: Do I cast into the shallows and bring the dive the bait into the depths OR Do I cast into deeper water and bring the the bait up into the shallower water Which would be most effective and which would allow the bait to stay in the Strike Zone longer? Is there even a tactic that dictates such thought,or is it just "Chuck and Wind" Which is sort of what I do now,I position my boat,I anchor and I fan cast a 360 degree circle around my boat. Basically would it be productive to throw a bait that dives 16 feet into a depth of 5 feet?

Drop Shot Woes
Ya know a larger fish for me comes very seldom, but is a welcome surprise. I had been fishing an area with this small DS bait I always use, plucking the dinks left and right, when suddenly I got a hit on the DS( on the fall) right after I made a cast. Turned out to be a 4# fish. So yeah larger fish are in this lake but seems the little ones are way more aggressive, think its time to target deeper water.

Company Complaints
What about personal experiences with companies? Say I had an issue with a piece of tackle,I took it up with the manufacturer and didnt get the issue resolved,or it was resolved poorly. Is speak of personal experience dealing with a company accepted? This way Joe fisherman can know what to expect or not expect when they deal with the company. All personal experiences won't always be positive, and that's what everyone wants to see and hear.
