  1. Well it seemed to take forever to get to my appointment date! I finally got in on thursday. I should have taken my camera long but completely forgot. Anyways, I'm really happy with how it turned out! Here's a pic of the finished product!
  2. Truely sad indeed! Prayers sent!
  3. Here's my choice! Love these boxes! http://www.***.com/descpage-P3714.html
  4. Hey Boett and VAfisherinMD and anyone else around Frederick. I stopped by Middletown pond this evening, most of the slop on the top is gone! I had a decent top water bite going until the t-short rolled in this evening. I managed 3 before it hit on a Pop-R. Once I figured out the cadence, it was practically back to back to back! I was talking to another guy that was fishing and he got on a decent lipless crankbait bite from what he was telling me. Just thought I'd share that with you guys! Oh, one more thing, looks like they finally treated the pond for the algea. I still had a pretty strong bluish tint to the water.
  5. Don't forget to add: Hawg Pig Big Momma And most importantly......... The Bait Monkey!

Couple of factors come to mind for me. First would be the amount of vegatation, second would be wind strength and third is current. In most cases, I'm using the lightest weight I can get away with and still maintain a good feel of the bait.
  7. Rattlehead, Strike King Premire Plus and Picasso.
  8. Now there's something I've never hooked into, a striper. I've managed one small hybrid on Liberty the one time I was there but that was it. I have a few friends that fish for them but haven't had a chance to hit the water with them. I get the same thing out my way on the Potomac. In the summer, if there's any depth to the water all you get are the big cruisers and jet skiers flying around and they have ZERO regard for smaller crafts! I've all but been thrown out of my boat by one and I won't go back to that section unless the temps are too cold for those goofballs to be out!
  9. Welcome to THE boards skinyea! I'm out in western MD so I can't help you with any spots. :-/ Check out the MD Who's who thread, there should be a few anglers close to you that have posted on there.
  10. Hey zam! Let us know how you did!
  11. Hey warkwick, Have you checked out DNR's site? Here's a link to the boat ramp access that's broken down per county: http://mddnr.chesapeakebay.net/fish/state2.html Hope this helps!
  12. I received 2 spinnerbaits a while back as well. The lake I fish the most is polluted with hydrilla and I found the exact same thing Catt. I've never had another spinnerbait come through the grass better than the Rattle Head spinnerbait!!! Great design!
  13. Oh, I'm going to have to add some of those spinnerbaits to the arsenal!!!! They look GOOOOOOOD! ;D
  14. Jealous I be Avalonjohn!!! I've been in the Winchester Super Wally World once. I wish my Wally World up 81 from you had half the selection as the one in Winchester!!! That really stinks on how you lost it! Back ups are a MUST for Favorite baits IMO! btw, the Bandit 100 series is one of my favorite crankbait series!
  15. Here's the pic of the 4 pounder I caught earlier this evening.
  16. Hey Butch, Since I've fished the section a couple times, I'll see what I can help you with. What I've found with the Williamsport area of the Potomac is the smallies are pretty much scattered out. That's one reason I mentioned the cranks and jerkbaits in the PM I had sent ya. When I fish the Senko's in the Potomac, I'll usually t-rig them with very little weight (like an 1/8oz, MAYBE a tick heavier). If you're able to get out on a boat, you can throw the Senkos (weightless) around the bridge pilings (on the down current side (I'll also throw tubes in there as well). I'm not sure if how the grass situation is on that section this year, but that's a good place for the tubes and Senkos as well. Cast up stream of the grass patch and let the current bring the bait down past the patches. The areas around the islands will also hold some smallies as well. Tube colors that have produced the best for me are junebug, roadkill and watermelon/chart tail. Hope this helps, shoot me another PM if I can help ya out a little more.
  17. What's up Maryland??? Things have been slow for me lately. Been managing to fish from shore here and there (mostly on the C&O canal in Williamsport) and catching a few small bass. FINALLY got my truck back on the road so I can cover a few more places! Well, this evening on my way home from work, I decided to stop off at a small community pond that I haven't had much luck with in over 2 years (I actually wrote DNR about it to see if they removed the bass from the pond). Well, I finally turned the corner on the dink page I've been writing. LOL! While I only caught 3 this evening, I had almost 10 pounds worth of bass in those 3. Largest one went just over 4 pounds (on an analog scale). The other 2 went 3lbs and 2 1/2lbs. Caught the two biggest on a spinnerbait and the other was on an X-Rap. All three put up a really good fight too! I checked the water temp and was surprised at the temp. It was only 74 degrees. :-? Found that to be a little odd for this time of year. I'll post a pic of the 4 pounder I caught as soon as I get it downloaded from the phone. How's everyone else been doing?
  18. Welcome to THE boards vanquish! What part of MD are you from? Gotta love the smallie action!
  19. Great video Glenn! While I don't use them exclusively, I do throw Lumaflex skirts from time to time. Thanks for bringing up the spinnerbait weight! 3/4oz is something I haven't thrown very often (actually not at all this year). I'll have to break them back out! But 14# test with a 3/4oz spinnerbait? I'll be going a little higher (bad experience in the past with lighter lines)! You're right about the backhand roll cast, it is a little awkward at first. I started using it last year.
  20. The only time that has happened to me was the one (AND ONLY) time I tried Berkley Vanish Transition. I lost 3 spinnerbaits on 3 casts with 14# test on 3/8oz spinnerbaits (and no loading of the rod on the last 2 I tried). The only other way I see this happening is if you're fishing thick abrassive cover and not checking your line for nicks.
  21. Hmmm, let's see.... you've caught more and you've caught bigger ski's than me. musky89? I think not! ;D
  22. I've never had a problem with the Midnight Specials. The majority of the time, I prefer the sinlge colorado bladed version but I've done well on the double willowleaf model as well. IMO, its a great alernative when the bass want something a little more subtle but still near the top (at least that's where I like using it).
  23. Nice job there partner! I didn't fair near as well on the C&O canal. Only managed those 3 I told you about. Congrats on the 3 more citations! What's that put you up to now? 300?

I JUST seen it for the first time as I open this page! LOL Do we have alot of goth anglers???
  25. I've heard the same reports about Raystown too. The one spot on the Potamac that I used to fish for muskies, I've witnessed baby geese getting slammed by muskies. Just above that area, I had a musky basically beach itself briefly. I had seen the musky take 3-4 swipes at the bait I was throwing about 10' away from me. I had brought the bait right to the bank (in less than 6" of water) when I had heard something up river. Instead of picking the bait up out of the water, I just turned my head for maybe 5 seconds when this decent sized musky came up to take the bait I had resting on the water. She missed the bait and probably came within 2-3' of my feet. Needless to say, scared the snot out of me! When I'm fishing for ski's from shore, you won't find me in water any deeper than a foot (if that).
