  1. Here's my little girl! Like CJ said, keep it fun for them! That day she spent about 15-20 minutes total fishing, that evening I asked her if she had fun. Her reply? When are we going again Dad?
  2. Thanks for the info earthworm!
  3. Is that the male or female. Or does it matter. That's all the site said. :-/ My guess would be male.
  4. Ok, here's some info from the south. According to the Southern Regional Aquaculture Center, largemouth will spawn at one year old as long as they are 10".
  5. KU, that's the same info I found on the LM and SM. My info is from ON, Canada region.
  6. Matt, I'm 5'10" and go about 165lbs. My daughter is 5 and I plan on showing off a rather large display of guns!
  7. Welcome to the forums LUIS! I take it you're talking about livewells in a fiberglass boat. I wish I could help you on that one, but my livewell in my jonboat constantly gets fresh water through the bottom of my boat (via the hole I drilled). The only time I even run my Aerator is when I'm running my outboard. I'm sure, you'll get plenty of responses quickly! Good luck and again, welcome!
  8. Unreal!!! I wonder if there is going to be a reward for 500?

Sorry to hear that Avid! Have you ever thought about tryin to learn to cast with your opposite hand? That may help to keep you fishing! Heal up soon so you can get back at that big one!
  10. This time of year, the hoodies come in real handy fishing on the river! I also like the idea of the pull over wind breaker, t-shirts, hats and visors. Matter a fact, I'd probably look into a tourney shirt too!
  11. I know I'm sick already! Sick in my stomach that I'm in MD and not TX!!!! ;D
  12. Wheasle, I boat my 16' flat bottom jon boat in 97. I paid roughly $400 for the trailer and about $1400 for the boat (its a 1668). I added decks 'n such to mine as well. So IMO, $450-500, good price. I bought a use 15hp Evinrude last year and paid $250 for it. Hope this helps!
  13. Cephkiller, I'd advise against that one! I had one. Worked great for a while but the wires are so light, they end up breaking. On my boat, I use the temp gauge on my Fishfinder. When I'm fishing from shore, I use a pool thermometer. Hope this helps!
  14. Now keep in mind, my advise is coming from MD. I'm guessing the water temps are going to be somewhere in the low to mid 50's so your crankbait technique should work. For me, as long as the water temps are where I think they are, I would use a spinnerbait with a slow/medium retreive. I'd also try a t-rigged tube pitching around cover or a trick worm or Senko would work well too. I'm sure others closer to you will be able to help out a little more, but I hope my input helps! Just remember, let the bass tell you what mood they're in and adjust from there. Let us know how you do!
  15. Hey tide12, First, welcome to the forum! Before we can answer your question, where are you going to be fishing (state or lake)? We'll be able to give you a little more insight if we know where you are!
  16. T_Mike, The boat looks real good! LBH, Thanks for finding that formula! That's one thing I'll be doing tomorrow. LOL! Mo Tick, I'm getting ready to drop down to 1/2" from 3/4"!
  17. Randall, I am so sorry to hear about your loss! My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family!!!
  18. Basically what you're doing by putting the handle up is allowing on side of the spool to rest on the one side of the reels frame. This is giving you another "tool" to slow the spool down which will help reduce backlashes. Another tip I'll add is try not to load the rod tip as much. Loading the rod tip will generate more lure speed which in turn speeds up the spool more and that will cause problems. Bring the rod back, stop.....then continue with your cast. As you get more comfortable casting overhand, you can load the rod tip more and more. Hope this helps!
  19. My favorite bait right now is tubes. I keep the colors as natural as possible. Pumpkins, watermelons and shad colors work the best for me. If the water is very stained or muddy, I will switch up to black.
  20. Welcome to the boards Russ! I'm Sean and I'm also a Bassaholic. But I don't think that's a problem! Now the Bait Monkey........ He can be a problem! LOL!
  21. I liked the 320 but decided to go up to the 480! For the money, both are a great buy IMO!
  22. Hey cravenfish, Welcome aboard! This site is THE TOP of the bass fishing sites on the net! Can't wait to hear your stories and insights!
  23. Welcome aboard! This is the BEST bass fishing site on the net! Bar none!
  24. Water temps here in MD are in the lower to mid 40's depending on the body of water I'm fishing. With that said, tubes are my go to bait. If I'm fishing one of the water water discharge areas on the Potomac, I start with a tube or a grub but may switch to a small crank if the conditions allow me to. Once the water hits 50 on the lakes and ponds, I switch up between my spinnerbait or a tube/lizard/creature bait.
