Leader Length
For me using 20' of leader attached to my braid doesn't make sense, I may as well just use mono or copoly instead of braid. I do use braid for everything, my leaders are about 20", slightly longer for inshore fishing. I use swivels except when fishing for certain species unrelated to bass, using a duolock to change lures. As a rule my leaders do not get changed daily if my knots are good to go, if not I will put a new leader and duolock on. Fishing a weedless fluke, which I do a lot of, putting a fresh hook or leader on doesn't take much time, same for worms or jigs which I seldom use. As far as I'm concerned nothing is more important than the line, I change my braid often, whether it's bass fishing or saltwater fish. The cost isn't much more than a couple lures or bags of plastics.

Peacock Bassin
Never had any luck, or is it skill lol, using a fluke for Peas. I catch them on a variety of hard lures, jerkbaits, gold spoons, inline spinners, spinnerbaits and top waters. We have them here in Palm Beach county, without doubt live shiners rule now. Years ago there were all over the place in West Delray & W. Boynton, doesn't seem to be the case just yet. I've located them only east of the freshwater spillways off Lake Ida and canals off the El Rio, both north and south, but it's been tough off the bank.

Tilapia
There is a community just up the street from my home, the residents have stocked this community pond with tilapia. I have met a few people living there and have gotten reports of 10# bass caught not uncommon.

Pflueger Supreme Mg Vs Shimano Symetre
^I can't find too much to debate against ^ There is more to a good performing reel than just being smooth. I've got a Shakespere agility that's as smooth as any $200+ reel I own, but it's far from being a quality reel. Questions to be answered about any reel, how long might it last, will it get "grindy" as some spinners do, drag precision and performance, line management and how the reel handles the elements of weather. Being strictly a spinner user and owning just about every major brand, it's my belief that I don't have to spend more than $100 for an excellent freshwater spinning reel and $150 for salt, and starting to think that might be a little high for a light duty inshore reel.

Has Anyone Fished The D.o.a. Airhead Jerkbait/swimbait For Bass?
Most serious fisherman I know that live in Florida fish DOA including myself. Mark Nichols quite often speaks at the Palm Beach fishing club. I swear by 5.5" CAL (cheap ass lure) jerk shad. I did try the airhead and didn't care for it, both with wide gap hook as well as on a jig head. The terror eyez work pretty good for bass as well as snook. Usually my online order gets delivered in about 5 days.

Symetre(New) Vs. Orra S/sx Spinning Reel
Glad to say I'm not in the market, my stuff is pretty darn good. If I were I'd be considering 1 of only 2 reels at this time, Supreme xt or Daiwa lexa, the choice would be made based on the rod I plan on using it with. My decision is not based on using a reel for double duty, but for a specif purpose and in this case light inshore, my freshwater gear is set. Heavier inshore reel would be a different choice. That said I don't think there is anything wrong with a symetre or the Abu.

Chinese Crankbaits
Bomber makes inexpensive as well as quality built lures.. Walmart for example carries a Bomber for a few bucks in 2 sizes, have caught countless numbers of bass and snook on them, and they last pretty good except for the hooks. In no way are they the same as Bomber saltwater grade like windcheaters or a boink a donk, not that I think a windcheater outfishes the cheaper ones. One thing I do miss is Walmart's renegade, I really liked that lure.

Rage Crab For Flippin Big Reds Too!
I sight cast when possible. We don't have too many redfish in my area but snook, tarpon, jacks and bass. I'm always looking for signs to cast to a target rather than blind cast, fall seems to be the best time here. Look for bait pods, schools of fish, working birds, changes in water color.

Who Uses Casting Nets 2 Catch Live Bait??
Fishless using live bait?..............sure have and I'm not the only one. Much of it has to do with targeting a fish in it's "off season", like a snook now. Fishing for barracuda when the weather and tide isn't right. When I lived up north targeting muskie, never an easy fish to locate. Even been fishless using live goggle eyes for sailfish. No question in mind live bait does out produce but it's still not a 100% guarantee. I don't use live bait very often, couple of times a year for snook or cuda, I do not consider it serious fishing for me, it's just standing around and shooting the bull with my homeboys. Bass or peacocks, never use bait, negates my reason for being out there.

Pflueger Supreme Mg Vs Shimano Symetre
The MG can be had for 75 bucks, well worth it, I have 3 of them for bass fishing. The supreme xt I've seen at $107, same place, sounds like a winner too. Both reels have drags than can be precisely set and operate smoothly, cast well, effortless retrieve, not sure what else a spinning reel is supposed to do. My mg's have been tested over time, one of them used in salt for nearly 2 years. Quite honestly there probably isn't going to be a noticeable difference in the 2.

The Bait That's Catching The Biggest Bass In Boynton/palm Beach
I've fished there several times. The pond across the street can be pretty good, the one with no fishing signs, lol. It's just north of Woolbright on the west side of Congress. Up near Sears (north of Old Boynton) there is a bank and a few ponds and the Weaver Canal which has peacocks.

Whats You Definition Of A 'fun Fish'
I do nothing but fun fish, my target species does vary quite a bit. Once ya hit about 60 years of fishing and have a caught about everything from bluegill to marlin, as long as the rod has a bend it in it I'm having fun. Are there fish I think that are more fun than others......................OH YEAAHHHHHHHH !

The Bait That's Catching The Biggest Bass In Boynton/palm Beach
Not quite right.............Lawrence is 1 mile west of Congress. Haven't noticed the bank in question, I'm in that area most days coming home from the inlet. People catch shiners by my home all the time, bass too and that may be why the fishing hasn't been like it was a few years. Maybe progress will be working in my favor, a new sub is going in that road will be blocked. I do know of a few places to buy shiners around here, so people have told me, I only use artificial. Not likely 1 peacock in a Boynton pond unless some one put it there. If the pond had a canal flowing into it there would be more than 1.

Symetre(New) Vs. Orra S/sx Spinning Reel
A spinning reel used in saltwater does not have to be rinsed each time it's used, only thing that gets wet is the bail from the line touching it. It's all about the conditions, if it's windy the air will have salt, on the beach sand is blowing, sea weed may have sand or grit, on a boat just being in a rod holder the reel can get wet, those time rinse it for sure. Calm conditions off a jettie or sea wall, no need but it certainly does not hurt.

Spinning Setup Balance
I started holding a spinning rod like most people do, over the years my hand automatically moved to a more comfortable position for me. I guess I could call that "grip evolution". I could not even look at a rod without a nice foregrip.
