Spooling Braided Line
For the future, since you already spooled, I would wait until I was ready to go fishing. Not that there is a problem with the braid itself, but what it you decide to spool with something else, different test or maybe not braid at all.

Lions And Greenbay Game! Im Fired Up And Need To Vent.
I think the deciding factor in the game was the inability to stop N.O. running game, especially Thomas. Being a Lions fan I'm disappointed that they didn't advance, not that I thought they would, but overall they had a great comeback season.

Interesting Take On College
Putting expense aside, the plain fact is that these times are unusual. For many students that are preparing to enter adult life, the jobs of yesteryear are just plain gone, no longer available, it isn't your fault. The job you may be applying for has a waiting list of experienced workers, gives a fresh kid little chance, as experience will generally get the employment nod. Exceptions do happen, like companies cutting costs by terminating expensive help in lieu of entry level workers. Back in the 90's when the economy was robust the competetion for graduates was fierce, resulting in very high starting salaries and signing bonuses as well. Many tradesmen were getting great offers along with signing bonuses as too. The younger generation is a victim of the times, it isn't your fault, even dr's lawyers and other professionals are not walking into great positions now as they once did. The days of getting a job at the local plant and providing for an entire family are over, simply because that local plant is in a third world country now.

Favorite Ribbon Tail Worm?
I haven't bought Culprits in years, got a bag the other day, they are not the same bait. They seem to be much thinner and lighter as I remembered them. Not a negative or positive comment, just an observation.

Interesting Take On College
@Root beer.......I feel that I've read other negative threads about your education or education in general. I don't think there is any argument that school is less affordable today than it was for me in the mid 60's. IMO if you don't get your head on right, education or not, employment above minimum wage will be a dream and not a reality. Your personality may be best suited for self employment, providing you have the drive and motivation. Interesting sidebar. My wife and I were at Costco the other day, while checking out I was observing the cashiers assistant packing us up. This man, probably in his mid 40's, moved like a short order cook, every movement was in perfect sync with no wasted motion, his comments to us and the cashier showed me he was an impressive worker. I instantly turned to my wife and said that if I were still in business, I'd offer him a job right on the spot, I know I could have taught him to do anything. No question in my mind that he was vastly over qualified for the work he was presently doing, and the economy hadn't treated him well, yet he was making the best of the situation. 30 years of hiring people, I don't need to read a resume, this man will be a winner again. This man had an aura, sad to say auras are not noticeable on a typed piece of paper.

Cant Get The Reel To Seat Correctly
I've got a rod or 2 that my reels feel a bit loose on. I put some paper or cardboad on the reel seat and then the reel, does a good job of tightening it down.

Smart Phones
My sd card is underneath my battery, not only is it inconvenient but my card is too small for my computer slot, I would need a separate card reader. If your SD card works with computer that's a good way to go. Using swiftp and filezilla is drag and drop just like using the usb cable but faster, with no need for the cable, it's win win for me.

Good Fishing Logs(Journals)?
I'm with Crestliner and Red Earth, these guys I'd fish with. I don't care what happened yesterday, last year or 20 years ago, I'll figure it our for today's outing. I use the tape on my phone to remind to replace tackle I've lost and to pickup a gallon of milk for my wife. Only for me, what others do is their biz. I have no idea of what a 10" or 12" fish looks like, if it were that small I wouldn't bother measuring it, I hope it comes unbuttoned. If the fish has some size to it, I may pace it off with my shoe, I have a real good idea on what the length is, apx. weight is close enough, 2 decimal points for a fish under 2#, come on............. sorry Goose, I still love ya. Now lets talk about pictures, they do not tell the story. Someone holds up a fish at arms length embellishing a 3# fish into something that looks like it's 6#. I say the angler with the longest arms catches the biggest fish......lol. For me it's the quality of the catch, meaning the fight. I'd rather catch a 5 pounder that rips my arms off, than a 10# that felt like I was dragging in seaweed, yet the 10 pounder is more photogenic. If a pic is worth a thousand words, a video is worth a 100,000. I say we ban photos and allow only videos of the fight...... ..

Smart Phones
No expert, but this is using your wi-fi connection from the phone to your computer, bluetooth transfer is pretty much the same I believe. I'm using android, apps are free and so is FileZilla. What I like better about swiftp is I can transfer both ways, with es file explorer only 1 way from phone to computer, but it works real good too.

Bass Boat In Salt Water?
I see people out in bass boats on a calm day sometimes, something I wouldn't do because weather can change in an eye blink. I don't know much about the gulf, but where I live access to the ocean is going in thru the inlet, which is extremely turbulent, we are dealing with design. But ya never know....We see an old timer going out the Boynton inlet in a boat fashioned from a box from a pickup truck with smaller outboard. Have seen him many times, works for him. A flats boat makes the most sense to me, btw fishing for snook or redfish from a flats boat is pretty much the same as bass fishing.

Different Results With Same Lure
I pretty much agree with J Francho, to my memory I've yet to use a bait that hasn't caught fish, not saying some may be better than others, I have no doubt of the success people have had with this bait, I've not used it. As far as I'm concerned fish are either on or off. When on they hit just about anything and when off the going is very slow and sometimes getting skunked is in the equation. I fish saltwater bucktails for bass and I jig them a bit different (works just fine), but I've been thinking about trying trailers on bass jigs for a change of pace.

Smart Phones
Didn't like using the usb cable to move files back and forth and sometimes I had to reboot my computer for the F drive to show up. I have been using Swiftp in conjunction with FileZilla, works beautiful without the need for the cable, faster too. ES file explorer is ok, but not as versitile.

Please Help Estimate The Weight
A scale can make you feel like a dink master, weights only mean something if you're getting paid for the fish. If I can pick up a fish it ain't worth weighing, and if I couldn't pick it up chances are I wouldn't have scale big enough to weigh it anyway PB is kinda meaningless to me as to the quality of my ability. I have no control of what's swimming below, the 2 pounder may strike faster than 7.

The Snow - Take It Or Leave It . . . .
Detroit does not get a lot of snow, I think average is less than 50", Cleveland and Buffalo get ours. Southwest Detroit has huge salt deposits, as a kid their we went on tours of the mines, an underground city, believed the mine is closed now.

2011 Accomplishments, 2012 Goals
Heading to the Southern Hemisphere for some big Peas is something I really like to do. I need to do some research if I can find a place that not only has big peas, but has close by inshore fishing for bonefish.........that would be an ultimate trip for me.

Don't Ever, Ever, Ever
Closest I've gotten in taking apart a b/c is to mount rare earth magnets inside my Avet. I don't even know where the bearings are and to be honest, I don't want to know.............I send it in for service.

Other Species Id (Pics)
I typed it wrong , it is a trumpet fish. Guess I had triggers on the mind when I saw the pic. Trigger fish make a wonderful meal, the fellow I go out with on Saturdays always uses a chicken rig to grab a few for dinner, he loves them. I believe but not sure Queen triggers are not legal to keep in Florida, I may be wrong.

Lake Osborne - Florida
Sunshine bass from the west side not far from the camp ground, some shore access. Have caught peas near the Lantana Rd bridge.
