  1. This show is pure television entertainment, it's so far removed from the reality of how pawn shops operate. Selling or pawning an item is a last ditch effort to raise money, if the items were that hot they could easily be sold to a dealer or private party for more money. Selling at a pawn shop is like buying a car with poor credit, you are going to pay a higher interest rate and pawn people know it. I enjoy watching the show.
  2. Yeah, isn't a motorbike required to be registered/titled like a car or boat? Absolutely ! Title tells the story, the bill of sale is only important for purposes of paying the state sales tax, it does not prove ownership like the title does. Having a bill of sale doesn't mean that the property isn't stolen and if that is the case the buyer may be as guilty as the seller. If memory serves me correct, every vehicle I have sold privately, the titled passed hands at the time of the sale, or very shortly after.
  3. soron 20 mono 8/130yds soron 40 mono 10/210 yds I'd get 2 soron 20's, outstanding reel, I use 15# braid on mine.
  4. Very windy today, it was 25mph out of the se in Boynton, I can attest to that first hand.
  5. There should be a bill of sale and also he should be in possession of the title. The title will name the owner and it who it legally passes to, not to mention if there is a lien holder. I think there are more facts to this story which have yet to be revealed.
  6. Happy New Year. been out fishing already.
  7. 2010 ended nicely for me yesterday. With a fairly lackluster week, yesterday I was treated to catching a number of 8-10# fish. Update: 2011 started the way 2010 ended, more fish in the same size range.
  8. I fish like Bilgerat described. Always 1 rod for me ( may have a backup in car) carry only 1 jerkbait, 1 spoon, 1 storm wildeyed shad, 1 top water plug, carry them in an old xrap lure box, the lures may vary but not the number of them. The times I'm fishing weedless, it's 1 pack of zoom flukes with a couple of extra hooks in the bag, no bullet weights for me. I catch my fair share of fish. Inshore salt the same philosophy applies, just carry along a few things.
  9. If I were to keep records I would record them either using a small tape recorder or smart phone voice memo.

  12. Nothing at all like Red Skelton. Red was a classy guy and Benny was just sleazy. They were 2 Red Skelton's, the one you saw on tv and movies and the one doing stand up, like Las Vegas. He told very few "clean" jokes, he was raunchy as hell. Very funny guy.
  13. There are some outstanding rods below $150.00. Friend of mine buys a Tsunami airwave 7' 8/17 rod and I loved it, so I buy one in an 8' length. We are fishing on the beach and another friend, Charlie, looks at these rods and says wow and he buys one. Charlie and I are fishing at the Lake Worth pier and Charlie lands a 30# jack crevelle with it. Rods are lighter than my redbones and cast further, we paid $65.00 on sale at Dicks. Being on a limited budget does not mean a major sacrifice.
  14. Migrating birds that fly in formation have no leader, they take turns being the lead bird, one gets tired and another takes over, it's drafting like in auto racing. This is what I was told at the Green Cay nature preserve, lots of migrating birds stop there.
  15. For some species of fish it's illegal to take them out of the water to unhook them, take a photo or weigh them. A story floated around, can't say for a fact that it's true, where some one photographed a tarpon out of the water and the FWC saw it posted on a forum, then somehow fined him. I see extremes on both sides ( tv shows ) handling fish.
  16. I've seen that bag and it looks good. No Cabelas here so I bought a Browning at BPS, which has been the best bag for me, only sorry I didn't buy the next bigger one. Using my bags offshore in salt water the zippers don't last, the Browning zippers do.
  17. Love your trees don't you. I, like many others like to browse its pages while I'm "thinking". A good bet it's made out of recycled paper, enamel stock.
  18. Many times I don't. The times I don't apply to other types of fish, not bass. That said I've never encountered a problem tossing a 1-2 oz lure on rod rated at max 1 oz., actually been doing more of it as I am wanting to use lighter rods for bigger fish.
  19. I use only braid and only spinning for fresh and saltwater, for me any I don't see a whole lot of difference between any of them, I have used 5 or 6 brands. Just recently spooled up with Fins braid, seems ok too. Mostly use PP because it works well and I can buy it any where any time of day.
  20. I use spoons a great deal of the time. Where I fish you don't own them long enough to get emotionally attached, constant cut offs, but fewer hits with wire. I buy a generic spoons at my local tackle shop for $2.50-$3.00, they work great. I put dots of red nail polish on them for weight distinction, I don't think I get more or less hits with the added color.
  21. Soron , class of that field...end of story
  22. Most qualified sunglasses are approved by FDA guaranteed in safety and durability. They are usually manufactured according to certain regulations. This is good news for sunglasses wearers. In a word, UV protective sunglasses are essential and very important for people who often go outdoors. But the expensive ones are not absolutely better than those cheap ones in protection. http://www.articlesbase.com/vision-articles/uv-protection-sunglasses-for-better-eye-health-3180983.html I've been told this by opticians for years.
  23. ^5 on the Cocoons. I wear scripts and start fishing before sun up, I wear flip ups and they do an excellent job, $19.95. Any Polycarbonate lenses with uv protection will perform on a pretty equal basis. As far as non-script glasses go find a frame that's comfortable.
  24. I like my systems. 1 Browning bag for saltwater trolling and drift fishing, 1st bag with zippers that don't deteriorate. Fanny pack with 5 plastic lure boxes for saltwater inshore, each box hold 2-4 spoons, jerkbaits, top baits and jigs, 20-40 back lures in my car Freshwater, use old xrap boxes with 2 or 3 lures per box, carrying in my pocket, I don't take much with me.
