Medicare does not start until age 65, enrollment begins on the 1 st day of the month that you turn. Anyone born Dec 31, 1945 automatically qualifies to be an OLD FART. I'm off to see the doctor and make an appointment for a colonoscopy.... no sheet !

Professional actor, no one could be that much of a dickhead. Some one needs to tell him white shoes are out of style.

Movie ending songs
Some great ones mentioned, Eye of the Tiger, and The Body Guard are 2 great ones. Hard to beat Streisand's "Funny Girl"

Is a flouro or mono leader attached to braid necessary?
Bass are aggressive at least compared to some other species, I don't think leaders are real important. That said I prefer using a leader with my braid for any kind of fishing, but that's just me. I really don't buy into floro leaders mono works just as well for me, the only place I use them is for certain species and I have noticed it does make a difference.

I must be crazy
I have read countless posts about the line roller bearing on the stradic rusting out. My cabo is excellent, bit heavy for doing a lot of casting but I'm used to it, I've been using my cabo 30 lately for light duty trolling on a 25# class rod.

empty seat
Getting to be that time of year so I skipped the beach Sunday morning and did some bass fishing. Hit a couple local ponds near to my home and on 1 pond I destroyed them, the other was dead. At first light wind was calm, I fished nothing but a top lure. Went in my community pond about 12:00, wind was strong and nothing was happening.

More Dead Peacocks!!
I've never seen or caught a snakehead, so I can't comment. I have caught scores of pea's and they are great fun, excellent game fish.

Green Bay Packers
Lions are far better than their record indicates. I'd like to see a full season with Mathew Stafford, but the question is, will he need better protection or is he just injury prone? If it's the latter the Lions need to be looking.

Lee Corso
I wish Lee Corso the best. I've seen more than my share of strokes, the severity, recovery and stability are different for each victim. We have a friend, now wheel chair bound, sagging facial features and totally dependent. On the other hand, my wife had a stoke, looks, acts, performs in way that one would think she is perfectly normal, she isn't. Motor skills are as sharp, short and long term memory isn't what is was before the stroke. Not being a medical man, I'm wondering what the professional opinion regarding prognosis is for recovery, it my wife's case that took some time and therapy. Hang in there Lee !

I must be crazy
All is well with the stradic 4000 fi. Shimano replaced the entire bail assembly with no charge, not even shipping, and only took 2 weeks, I was pleasantly surprised. They are back in my good graces

Leaving drag star loose in storage...
I have heard both sides of the arguement for loosening the drag, some "experts" say it makes a difference others say it doesn't. Loosening is such an easy thing after my rinse down I just do it our of habit.

looking for a new cell phone
Nate was right about mb usage, I barely have used this phone and I can see where it's going. This experiment is winding up to be an exercize in futility for me. I don't care for this phone, it's awkward and clumsy, battery drains very quick, for me the features are useless. In short order I will most likely get my flip phone re activated and toss this one in drawer, maybe I can sell it.

If you only had one rod, what would it be?
1 rod for me would be my 7' redbone 10/20, soron 40 with 15# braid, has caught tarpon, snook, bonita, barracuda and kingfish, on the way home I use it in the canals for bass fishing and pulls them out of the heaviest slop. update : Just got back from the beach and did some bass fishing on the way home, used a redbone med 8/17 with a soron 20, 15# braid. Really it was no fun, rod is just too much for the apx 3 pounder I caught , will have a med freshwater rod with me from now on.

Ever know anybody like this ???
Hard to know anyone's failures without actually seeing them. Personally speaking I don't find anything too hard about fishing, it's a relaxing activity. I never use a hard hookset and miss very few, but when I do miss I don't give it all that much thought. Like Chris I use nothing but braid, for me it's spinning and 15# max, even in heavy slop, the line holds just fine, I may use a rod with more backbone for those conditions but not always. There 3 basic aspects to fishing, locating them, getting them to strike and then reeling them in........sounds like your friend needs a lesson on the latter.

Ugh....The family dog had to be put down last night.
Sorry to hear for the loss of a family member. It's been a while since we put down our Golden Retriever but I think about him daily, he was my best bud. I haven't been able to even consider getting another.

Are colleges educating student athletes?
most couldn't tie their own shoes without the aid of velcro, but there are exceptions, like this guy...certainly no average player either. http://www.mncourts.gov/?ID=30009&page=31

To qualify as an old fart one must submit a picture of their medicare card. A review board may allow admittance for youngsters based on the level of their whine. That being said I'm sure the membership will grow at a rapid rate. Time for my nap.
