  1. Gotta pass as prez, not enough aches and pains yet.
  2. I just got that phone last week...still getting used to all the features Me too ! Perhaps it's the place of life I'm in, I have little or no use for 99% of the features. I prefer doing everything in the comfort of my home on my pc, like banking, web browsing and answering the little bit of email I get, almost always a response to an inquiry I made. I have never received a text message from one of my friends and probably never will. Don't even understand the hundreds of available aps and why would I pay for something when I can do it for free on my puter. Any post I want to make can wait till I get home. I like the camera.
  3. Did I hear old from a bunch of youngsters? My ocean boat mates are 80-78-74 and I'm the baby at 65, my job is to haul all the hit to the boat.
  4. New way to get your pocket picked. http://www.wreg.com/videobeta/?watchId=8ba6f8fc-90a2-4711-90ea-1884ec348310
  5. Oh, you say that now........in a month you'll be dropping acronyms to your bff and slipping out of the office to try to beat just one more level of Angry Birds. Not even a remote possibility.
  6. ^5 to Sears. Have always known them to be a standup company regarding their employees and have heard positive stories going back decades.
  7. If I had it do over again I would have just bought the home I'm in now outright with the funds from my last home. Ample funds to pay but if something were to happen to me I want 1 less thing for my wife to be concerned with. Being in the metals business I was close with some extremely wealthy people. Most I knew were highly leveraged in business, if people were privy to that kind of business they would know why. When it came to their personal homes and lifestyles let's just say they managed themselves a bit more modest. 250-300k a year doesn't sound that much today, but back in '75 that was a big income and many I knew made way more than that. Looking back I'm glad I took a page out of their playbook. I know the arguments on both sides but IMO it is not a bad idea to have a very low or no mortgage, especially in this economy, never know your job may be the next go.
  8. I think I'm going to be happy with what I got, better be it's mine for 2 years, lol. It has the features I was looking for and the difficult keypad is a non issue as I plan on doing no texting. Getting more comfortable with it and it's only been a day.
  9. What I noticed about last years peacock kill was that I only saw larger peacocks floating not small ones, so I did really expect to catch some small ones but I didn't.
  10. Best buy had better promotions than Verizon, wound up with an HTC incredible model, retail $599, my cost was zero, it has an 8 mp camera. New to smart phones so I'm fumbling quite a bit, has touch keyboard which is hard to operate but I won't be doing any texting and very limited internet use, I much prefer doing that on my pc. As my facebook page says " I don't tweet, twitter or text, you want me use the d**n phone!"
  11. The Giff said some kind words for his good friend Dandy at halftime MNF last night. You know your are getting old when you can remember that trio. Yes he did and got a little choked up. Tried to be kind about Cosell but you could see he really didn't like him as well. I loved Cosell, not so much for his personality but for his vast knowledge of sports history not to mention any other subject. An attorney by trade with a photographic memory, had been toured to run for the Senate but declined.
  12. Gifford is still around.
  13. Supposed to lay down to about 10-12mph nnw and 2-4' seas
  14. Be going out for Sails tomorrow, good weather for them. Try and catch some blue runners and use a kite. No bait then do some drifting with sardine and trolling with spoons, feathers and cedar plugs.
  15. The snook kill was very bad on the Gulf side, season still closed there I believe. I'm in Palm Beach County and I fish snook nearly everyday, the catch on snook and tarpon was way down this year as compared to last. The snook are starting to move off the beach, I've caught only a few lately and they are running very small, ICW and canals will be the best bet but I haven't caught many there lately either. Everything kind of stopped with the end of the fall mullet run, pretty normal for this time of year. I've yet to see a peacock in my area since last January. Not much going on off shore either, tuna were hitting at 300' but have disappeared, we've been getting some bottom fish in 60', yellow tails, grouper, porgies and sea bass. With the cool weather and rough seas the sailfish should be turning on.
  16. Contract expired and it's time for a freebie or low cost. All I want is a phone with a better camera and larger display than a flip phone, texting, internet or aps hold no interest for me. I can get a Samsung continuum for $50, 5 mp. I'm with Verizon.
  17. First time I haven't gone to the ocean in the early morning to fish, won't be for the next day or 2 either.
  18. True that marijuana stays in the system for quite some time, but the buzz is gone within hours. If I'm not mistaken marijuana is not legal in any country but decriminalized in places like Denmark where a blind eye is really turned. The war against drugs is like the war against terror, it can't be won. The only way to stop illegal drugs is to eliminate the desire to have them, as long as people want them they will be available. IMO legalization is good idea, adding much needed tax revenue to states and federal.
  19. Flat water and gentle west wind, brings out the noseeums, they love me and I hate them, give me wind with 2-4 surf. I won't bass fish in the summer, the heat and humidity isn't too bad but those gnats drive me crazy, I may go out if the wind is blowing.

  22. You hit the nail on the head....... and to think I thought this was conservative group with me being the lone liberal...lol
  23. I agree. A lot of my old friends (I say old because I am not friends with them anymore) smoke weed every single day. I would go and hang out with them and all they would do was sit on a couch the whole day. Many of them were straight A students up until they started smoking and now they aren't even going to college. They all work at Outback Steakhouse and do the same things they did in high school, nothing. They will work there for the rest of their lives. Not nearly as detrimental as drunk driving, but it does have significant affects on people. Not too sure I agree with this one. I smoked my first joint Sept of 1963 my first year at Univ of Mich., didn't miss a day smoking weed for nearly 40 years ( lots of coke too ), my first lid cost me 7 bux...lol. Along that road I earned 2 degrees, built a very nice business, raised a family, stayed married to my first and only wife, and retired young enough to enjoy the fruits of my labor. Just about all my friends and family have similar stories and almost every last one is a Dr, Atty, CPA or business owner. In all fairness some I know did not turn out well. I drink very little now and do no drugs, not because it was bad but i just lost the desire.
  24. X2 I know peeps that have done boo & blow daily and have built multi million dollar businesses, and other side have seen many go way down hill too, not everyone handles it the same. I'm not taking a position on condoning or condemnation. Reefer Madness must have aired recently on TV.
  25. I like PP, use for fresh10# and salt 15 &20# has served me well on spinning gear. Recently spooled up with Fins braid 20#, so far I like it but it's been less than a week.
