  1. Myself and @cadman volunteer annually in a one day program which introduces kids ages 5-15 to the outdoors and conservation. He and I and a couple other volunteers run the casting/fishing portion. They also have archery, .22 rifles, sporting clays, hunting dog demonstrations etc. There is a raffle and door prizes as well. It's Saturday August 21st in Pleasant Prairie WI. If anyone is interested in attending with their children or volunteering, here is the link to register. You do not need a WI fishing license as this is on private property and is 100% catch and release. https://sites.google.com/site/youthdaygamefair/
  2. Impressive. https://www.wideopenspaces.com/duck-inhales-big-largemouth-bass-in-one-gulp/
  3. Crestliner Basshawk has a similar boat for less money https://www.crestliner.com/bass-hawk/1850-bass-hawk/
  4. I don't know. I once caught a bass that was underneath a floating Jägermeister bottle I pitched a jig to. Seems plausible.

  6. He's hooked. He's going to be 4 next month. We're having a fish fry tonight. I posted additional pics in the "Post a photo a day" thread.
  7. Took the grandson out today.
  8. You can throw a $50 lure in a swimming pool and it won't catch fish, but it looks pretty. No different than throwing a $50 lure in water that holds zero fish.
  9. Today is special because these are the first fish he's caught that are big enough to eat. His PB bluegill measured 9" and the 2 PB bass measured 13 and 13-1/2". The Spiderman rod that @deaknh03 sent him for Christmas was doubled over with the big bass. Poppa set the hook on all the fish, he hasn't grasped that concept yet but, he did all the casting and reeling.
  10. I wouldn't ever recommend jacking up the trailer by the axle for rear of bending it like shown in the video of A-Jays link. I've always used a small bottle jack on the frame. Keep a small board or 2 with you as well in case you're on soft or uneven ground.
  11. I portion out the fish into quart freezer bags, fill them about 2/3 with water, and squeeze out the air. Then i freeze them horizontally overnight. Store them in a tray vertically. The fillets will last indefinitely.
  12. I've created a number of one eyed bass. I've switched to smaller hooks. I've also created bird/turtle food with panfish. Fish will not get wasted in the wild. A waste of fish is when you freeze it, it gets freezer burned, and it's no good. PSA(Freeze fish in water and they will not get freezer burn) I stopped tournament fishing maybe 10 years ago. Yes I do miss it, but my body tells me different. I don't need to hook/land every fish anymore. I also don't need to put bass, or any other fish on a pedestal. I am at the top of the food chain.
  13. Anglers and hunters do more for the wildlife than any tree hugger could think of. Bass aren't rare and they are no different than panfish or walleyes in the grand scheme of things. It is bass fishermen who put the fish on a pedestal.
  14. It's not human life and shouldn't be viewed as such.
  15. Fish and wild animals survive on instinct. They adapt and overcome or they disappear. Domesticated animals have more survival instinct than humans. Fish and wild animals don't have the ability to reason. Their lack of ability to reason offers them the same results as humans with the ability to reason, only fish and wild animals don't feel guilt.
  16. If you feel guilt, stop fishing. Use smaller hooks.
  17. As stated above, shadows will tell you a lot. It's difficult to tell from the pics posted. Get a memory card and take screen shots. Upload them to your computer and then post those pics. Will be much easier to decipher.
  18. The bigger issue is Lake Menderchuck will then become public knowledge. My 100 100 100 count panfish posts have all been caught on Menderchuck West which is west of Menderchuck East, north of Menderchuck South, and south of Menderchuck North.
  19. Don Rickles was another guest that didn't disappoint.
  20. When late night tv was worth watching
  21. Did you break yours in yet?
  22. My grandma used to make pepper and egg sandwiches like nobody's business. I had no idea of the culture when I was a kid.
  23. Bet you miss pepper and egg sandwiches.
