  1. If you are buying a glass boat new, have the factory install a keel guard. That answers your beaching question. Nitro, Triton, and Ranger are made in different factories and have different hulls. They do utilize "universal" parts that mix and match between brands. The quality of service lays on the dealer, not the factory. Curious as to why you have narrowed aluminum choices down to those 2. Sea Ark makes a quality boat that would be similar to the Xpress and the Crestliner Bass Hawk would be similar to the Vexus only it's been around much longer and the hull is the same as their Fish Hawk which is their top selling boat. It has a real nice layout.
  2. I think pricing is a tad high but, in today's market, it's probably not going to be very negotiable. Can't say I've heard anything bad about Suzuki. As long as you have a dealer that can work on one/get parts, I say go for it.
  3. I cannot confirm this. Pics pulled from another forum. Supposedly happened over Memorial Day weekend. I can confirm the boat in the water is at the stone quarry launch in Sturgeon Bay. Hard to tell if they are the same boat or not.
  4. Unless you know for sure if there's a check valve or solenoid valve, CYA and cap it
  5. Was a rough ride on Sunday. Winds blowing NE 20+. Water was dirty and had to head out 12 miles to find some "not dirty" water. Storms came thru and churned up the water something fierce. Neighborhoods in NW Ohio were flooded and roads were closed near our rental. 2 day charter, we ended up with 12 walleye a bunch of sheepshead and some kitty's. Walleye were all 16-20". Nothing special about them. Biggest fish of the trip was this kitty.
  6. Did you really expect more from me???

They're you go. Kid is an hour from me and my sis, will be a homeowner in Sturgeon Bay as long as the closing goes as planned. The house is 15 minutes from town and right on the lake. https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/2073-Sugar-Creek-Ln_Brussels_WI_54204_M86098-51241

  13. I'm sure you do like it. No reason to upgrade in your situation. I was out with dad last week and the wind was blowing us all around. I got frustrated enough to say "It's days like these that make me regret selling the boat." I have to focus on the end game and just deal with the path to get there. Headed to Erie on Saturday for a 2 day walleye charter with dad and my kid.
  14. Time for an upgrade.
  15. Lithium batteries are not the future. It's old technology with other stuff is in the works. I'm not a tree hugger and never will be. Mining lithium is bad for the environment. 500,000 gallons of water are needed to mine 1 metric ton of lithium. https://www.instituteforenergyresearch.org/renewable/the-environmental-impact-of-lithium-batteries/#:~:text=The lithium extraction process uses, rich brine to the surface
  16. Wonder if they'd let me be a mod....
  17. Today is garbage day eve. I bought a sound bar yesterday. Decided to move into the digital age. Put a circa mid 1980's Sony surround sound system at the curb. Went to the backyard to throw dinner on the grill. Come back to the front of the house and poof! What kills me is I probably paid 3 times as much for the 1980's system than I did for the sound bar.
  18. With the boat shortage, now is the time to sell. Ask what you want and see if you get any bites.
