There's a difference between the inexperienced and the ignorant. I wouldn't just automatically assume a guy is hogging the ramp and have a talking with him on my way to get my tow vehicle.

2 short blasts is passive aggressive? This is what's wrong with people today. They live in their own world, oblivious of what's going on around them, then get ticked off because someone calls them on their ignorance. 2 short blasts is just alerting "Hey, there's someone else here besides you". People don't value the lives of others anymore and get triggered when someone throws a curve ball at them. It's all about respect for others and we seem to have lost that as a nation.

I use tape on spinning reels and just tie the braid to the spools on bait casters. This past weekend I was at Cabela's and while waiting to ask a salesman where the big spools of mono were located, I heard him talking to a newbie about braid and spooling it on a spinning reel. He said Cabela's would put a mono backing on it and finish off with braid. I interjected with the tape idea and the Cabela's guy had a fit. Said I was doing it wrong and Cabela's would never suggest tape.

I'm just the opposite. I could crack a beer open in the boat at 6:00am and nurse it all day because I'm more in tune with fishing than drinking. When I'm done fishing, that's a different story.

We have issues with squirrels eating wiring harnesses around these parts. They got a buddy of mines truck 3 times and his wife's car twice. He drives a work vehicle daily so his pickup sits. He recently bought coyote urine to see if that will deter them.

For 40 years I've spooled up my reels using a pencil or similar wedged in a chair or something similar. I made a contraption out of some tupperware last year that worked ok. If you're doing a few reels, I don't see the advantage. I had 20 reels to fill today. I bet I cut my time in half. I spooled them up with a 1700 yard spool of 8lb test Trilene Big Game. Stripped and refilled 20 reels in 3 hours. The 3 hours included screwing with the cats that were obsessed with the hunter orange 3/8oz plugs. Yes, I was fishing for cats...LOL

Nope. Never been sick on a fishing trip. If I was, I would never admit it.

Does it need to be a trail cam? I have Arlo wireless cameras on the exterior of my house. They work on both AC and battery power. The can be set up for motion and/or sound activation. The modem connects to the homes wifi. Depending on how you set up the alerts, you can get texts and/or emails when movement or sound is is noticed. Generally, the text alerts occur within 30 seconds of the camera getting triggered. Then I can just log into the app and see what triggered the camera. I have the free version. They have a pay version which supposedly won't get triggered by insects and leaves blowing around as well as offering more storage.

First come first served. When launching, have everything in the boat before backing down the ramp. Gear, coolers and whatnot. When loading, tie up the boat, if possible, out of the way of those launching. Then grab the tow vehicle and wait in line. Sometimes it sucks. Once you load the boat and verify it's on the trailer straight, pull out of the way to a staging area or wherever and get the boat packed up.

Myself and @cadman volunteer annually in a one day program which introduces kids ages 5-15 to the outdoors and conservation. He and I and a couple other volunteers run the casting/fishing portion. They also have archery, .22 rifles, sporting clays, hunting dog demonstrations etc. There is a raffle and door prizes as well. It's Saturday August 21st in Pleasant Prairie WI.
