The Powerdrive motor draws power 100% of the time. Did you check the plug receptacle for any loose or melted connections? If that's all good, you could have an internal short in the motor. If in fact the motor is bad, do yourself a favor and get a Terrova instead of another PD

A number of tin boat guys will run 2 SI transducers one on either side of the motor to get unobstructed images while leaving the motor trimmed all the way down. A single transducer will bounce images off the motor with the trim all the way down. Trimming up some will reduce the feedback but also gives you less boat control at slower speeds

With this year being the exception, I fish for panfish as much as I do for bass. I've said here before that it is wise to learn the habits off all the fish in the lake. Here in IL, the perch spawn right after ice out on our inland lakes (a little later in Lake Michigan). Water temps <50* The bluegills will target perch fry and the bass will target both the bluegills and the perch fry. Once I locate the bluegills, I will use either small perch colored crankbaits or perch colored crappie jigs underneath a float to catch bass, and I do quite well.

Agreed. I have learned as much about bass while fishing for panfish, as I have fishing for bass. I have caught bass, pike, musky, and catfish, all while fishing for bluegills, perch, and crappie. The common denominator being the forage. Where do I fish for panfish? Wherever their forage is. A fishes (notice I didn't say bass) instinct tells it to eat, protect itself, procreate, and that there is safety in numbers. In layman's terms, fish are eating, hiding, screwing, or just hanging out. These habits change seasonally and daily. A fisherman is a predator. He needs to locate fish that are eating, hiding, screwing, or just hanging out. The potential for larger fish lies within all 4 actions but I believe most of the year, the larger fish are solitary. They are hiding. Fish cover and structure near deep water....Uh-Oh a Buck Perry reference.

I've caught a couple 24's and hundreds in the 14-22" range. The slot creel on the lake I caught this one on is 3 between 14-16" and 1 over 24" SE Wisconsin has a 18" minimum. I threw a number of meals back this spring because they were under 18".

I had the "old style" Extang on my Tundra. They used foam gaskets instead of rubber. It leaked and the gaskets would freeze to the truck bed during the winter. Otherwise it was strong. I could walk on the cover if I needed to.

NADA was originally a guide for banks and insurance companies and IMO should be used wisely. Their prices should get you in the ballpark. Unfortunately NADA doesn't take real world circumstances into consideration.

I'd like to do IWB but I'm a fatazz and not sure how comfortable IWB will be. I'm more than likely just going to keep the gun with me when I'm in the truck and would like the option to carry if need be. Most of the guys i know who carry daily carry IWB, both wheel guns and pistols.

You've inspired me. If my walleye turns out the way i expect it to, i may just have him make a replica of my PB largemouth. I have pics and the skinmount for him to reference.

And maybe you get what you pay for. If it cost a few extra bucks to have your trophy preserved or replicated at a level I would call museum quality or better, then IMO it's worth the extra few bucks. My PB skin mount unfortunately looks nothing like the pictures I provided to the taxidermist. Think I paid $17 an inch. He did a nice job, but my bass had a bulging belly and big eyes. The mount does not. I had a skin mount bluegill collage done last year by a different artist. The attention to detail is impeccable. I paid $20 and inch and have no regrets. Unfortunately, he is no longer doing skin mounts because they are too physically demanding for him after having back surgery. He referred me to another gentleman with an impressive resume. I was quoted $23 an inch for my new PB walleye. If my walleye comes out half as good as the mounts he had in his studio, I will be more than happy.

All you need is the hub and cables. The hub needs it's own source for power.
