  1. Try a spook jr.
  2. Good a reason as any
  3. Right now it sounds like a battery or charging issue.
  4. You're going to need to mount it on the starboard (right) side of the transom because of the boarding ladder. Minn Kota sells quick release locks and, I believe, a plug and receptacle (or you can buy one from Marineco). The Talon only weighs about 35lbs +/- and can be removed in under a minute with the quick release locks to get stored in your garage on those family days. I would recommend a tilt bracket if you will be going under any low bridges while on the water and/or, if the boat is parked in the garage, you would need it to clear the garage door. If you do any traveling, they also sell security locks similar to wheel locks. These are a must. The Talon can be removed in under 5 minutes without the quick release locks, wires get cut, and no more Talon. A word of warning. Minn Kota is very proud of their add on brackets and charge a premium.
  5. This is the first weekend I haven't fished since ice out. Heat index of 105+ both days. The humidity is unbearable. I went outside yesterday morning to wash and wax the new truck at 5:30 and it was 80* with 90% humidity. I didn't do it. It was 95* by 9:30am. Ended up driving to WeatherTech and bought a bed and tailgate liner. Got home and installed them. Crazy how fast black rubber gets hot. My knees and hands were cursing at me. Went out at 5:30 this morning it was 80* again but 70% Rh. Truck was washed and waxed by 8:30am. Took a shower and sat on the couch the rest of the day. I can deal with heat, but 95* ambient and 90% humidity is miserable.
  6. Why not just buy a bow mount tiller trolling motor?
  7. Goodyear asked me if I wanted them balanced to which I replied "Do they need to be balanced?" Had he said yes, rather than the response I mentioned above, I would have taken his advice. This is a shop I have a relationship with. They did a lot of work on my Tundra over the last 2 years. Don't think he would steer me wrong. Either way, as long as I can get 5 trouble free years out of them, I'll be happy.
  8. I never use leaders. I don't think I've ever lost a crank/jerkbait to a pike or musky. Swimjigs on the other hand, I could lose 10 or more during a day of fishing depending on how aggressive the pike bite is. Why there's a difference? I have no idea.
  9. I bought mine on sale last fall. Was under $400 mounted with me bringing the rims in. I didn't have them balanced. There is conflicting info on line regarding balancing trailer tires and Goodyear said there was no need to as balancing is done more for ride quality than wear.
  10. Camouflage. Probably spent its time in open water or on/near rocks. A fish that spends its time in weeds will be darker and have a well defined stripe. If you were to put the bass you caught in a dark livewell for a couple hours, it would darken up and you would surely see the stripe.
  11. Rules are rules. If BASS makes an exception for one, they are obligated to make exceptions for all. Who's to decide that one fisherman's plight is better or worse than another's?
  12. It was a solid 4-1/2 or bigger. And yes, it was somewhere on the Chain.
  13. I replaced (4) 5 year old Marathons with Endurance at the end of last year. The spare is still the Marathon. I've probably put 1500 miles on them this season. Boat/trailer/fuel/gear probably weighs 4000lbs. So far I'm impressed if nothing more than they don't appear to "swell" (for lack of a better description) like the Marathons did. @WRB As far as I know, once the Marathons are gone, they are gone. Walmart must have bought out inventory. @TOXIC Power Kings come as standard equipment on many travel trailers as do Carlyle's. That tells me one of 2 things. They are either really cheap or really good quality. Hope you get 5 trouble free years out of them.
  14. My kid got a nice one today.
  15. Mom and dad are vacationing in Alaska. Last week they went white water rafting and today out on the charter boat. Neither are in the greatest of health and they are living every minute like it's their last. Dad sent me a pic today of mom and the charter captain
  16. SI transducers and aluminum hulls don't play well together for on plane depth readings. If on plane depth readings are a necessity, get an alumaducer
  17. My grandson was over yesterday. He's 11 months old. When he's with me, I forget that anyone else is even around.
  18. I believe some have already forgotten and in just a few months there will be voting age adults that weren't even alive during the tragedy.
  19. I'm no techie and I'm not drunk as of yet. What's up with seeing the fishing rods in double and triple?
  20. I dont know about transom ratings on A-jay's hull but my Lund transom is rated for 950lbs
  21. I would check all the plumbing connections first before I filled it with water.
  22. You've got 300 unused rpm's
  23. Pedialite
