Unfortunately Toto, this isn't Kansas. It's Lake Michigan. There's a 25ft span between the jettys entering/exiting the launch area. No room for error. Had I made it past the jettys, I would have been fine. Not worth the risk.

Racine didn't work out because of the wind. Headed back to IL and hit my favorite panfish lake. Caught probably 20 bass and 20 gills all on live bait. Landed 2 snot rockets on artificials.

Fox Chain report. Last nights coldfront didn't help. Not one bass. Water temp 65*Ended up with 1 16"walleye and 1 12" crappie both on a huskyjerk. Same bait, lost a 40"+ musky that straightened out the hook. Only 2 other bites. One was a big walleye that barrel rolled on my wacky worm and came off. The other was on the huskyjerk. It was big but never made it to the surface. Headed up to Racine Harbor tomorrow to try and get into some kings.

I think it it were me, I would start practicing by narrating videos that someone already made. Think about what you would say in the same situation. Tell the audience what you're working with. Not necessarily brands of equipment but types. "I chose a spinning combo with 8lb fluorocarbon for this technique because....." "I'm using a palomar knot because...." "I put the hook thru the bait this particular way because...." "When fishing weeds, I do this....because" "I chose braid instead of mono or fluoro because..." With any luck, the fish will cooperate and you'll get some good footage. As far as your spinnerbait example, Answer what situations warrant a spinnerbait? Color choice? Weight? Stinger hook? Trailer? Willow leaf blade? Colorado blade? Single blade or double blade? Reinforcing skirts with wire(since the name brand skirts use wire ties which will eventually break)? Scent or no scent? What knot to use? and so on.

You're going to get screwed with no lube trying to trade it in. I'd first try to sell it myself. If you don't need to sell it prior to purchasing the new one, try selling it on consignment. You might take less of a loss than on a trade in.

Is your intent to get rich off youtube? I don't care for watching youtube fishing videos. That's neither here no there. I am however from the western suburbs as well and I don't know if AP lives local to Chicago but he films a lot locally and he competes in open tournaments as a non boater on the Fox Chain with local FLW pro Steve Mui. I see him as the Justin Bieber of fishing except, his fan base is a bunch of pre-pubescent boys rather than girls. The kids flock to him at weigh-in like he's some superstar. IMO, and I could be wrong, seems to me he, as well as the other googans are more concerned with video production than actually fishing. That being said, If AP is local, you might want to see if you can meet up with him for some instruction on how to get started.

This When you mount the transducer board, you want to mount it closer to the motor than the gunwales. The board would be mounted parallel to the bottom of the hull and the transducer parallel to the water. The transducer should be mounted in between the strakes as the strakes cause air turbulence and transducers do not like air. Also, take note, you will need to trim the motor up some to get an SI image on both side of the motor. If you don't, you will find that the motors lower unit will bounce the beam back and you end up with a good reading on the side clear of the lower unit, and a reflection of the good side, on the opposite.

I assume you are not fly fishing. Once the salmon have made it into the rivers to spawn, the only think they have on their mind is to procreate. They will not be hitting baits because they are hungry. They will hit bait that resembles spawn. Nature tells them to get rid of the competition. Your best bet is to use bait that resembles spawn. Spawn sacks, corn, play-dough, marshmallows, Powerbait, and such. If you are fishing the mouths of the river(s) they may still hit spoons, jigs, and crankbaits. Not feeding, but out of aggression. Try a darter head jig with a fluke the color of the baitfish, Spoons like KO Wobblers, Krockodiles, Kastmasters, and Little Cleos might work. Low light conditions are normally better than when the sun is high in the sky. As far as gear, I like using bass gear. You need to make sure you have plenty of line on your reels and strong sharp hooks. A salmon's jaw structure is extremely hard and if you don't get a solid hookset, you risk losing it. If your water is clear, do not use braid. Salmon have keen eyesight and using or not using braid could be the determining factor on whether or not you get any action. If you've never caught a salmon before, you will be pleasantly surprised. They hit like a Mack truck and will peel line off your reel like there's no end. Where are you fishing for the salmon and are you looking to target them year round or just during the spawn?

The first image clearly shows a bait ball in the center of the image. There is, what looks like more bait on the top right of the same image right at the edge of the SI range which is more scattered, or less tightly packed. Remember, you are always moving and the bait is probably moving. Different speeds and different angles will give you different images of the same object. One thing I want to make mention of again is we are not all Wayne P. I have neither the time, patience, nor desire that he has to take perfect images. Plus, most of what I fish, are considered soup bowl lakes with little or no structure. I myself am more concerned with finding the fish and/or finding the breaks. Your picture is textbook. You found a hump and you found bait. I would make that a waypoint to revisit.
