  1. I got the Lew's Tournament Speed Spool (TS1HL) in today. And I posted a few weeks ago if the paddle handles can have Reel Grips installed...and the answer is YES! It wasn't easy, I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to stretch the Reel Grips onto the paddle grips and slowly work the pliers off. I first had to take off the paddle grips from the shaft. A little bit of determination and patience and I have the Reel Grips installed. I so much prefer the feel of the Reel Grips on the paddle grips of the Lew's reel, it doesn't feel so "thin" on my fingers and adds that little bit of grip. Here's something I discovered when I took off the paddle grips...there is grip bearing in each of the shaft...now that was a nice surprise and now I understand why when I first did the initial cranking without the Reel Grips why it felt smooth on that area.
  2. in regards to ebay, not too many left hand models and if there are its the lower line. i can get the MG for $10 new, sos should I pull the trigger?
  3. TS1HMG Right 6.4:1 7.9 9BB + 1RB 12/150 $129.95 TS1SHLMG Left 7.1:1 7.9 9BB + 1RB 12/150 $129.95 TS1SHMG Right 7.1:1 7.9 9BB + 1RB 12/150 $129.95 TS1SLMG Left 5.4:1 7.9 9BB + 1RB 12/150 $129.95 TS1SMG Right 5.4:1 7.9 9BB + 1RB 12/150 $129.95 Ok, this is the one I'm looking at getting, what do you think? It's the price point I'm looking to pay, how is the performance? I'm interested in the TS1SHLMG, left hand 7.1:1
  4. I'm looking to buying this reel or the Lews BB-1 Speed Spool. Those who own the Tournament Speed Spool, any good? Which of the 2 reels mentioned would be a better choice? I'm looking for an all around reel, so both have a gear ratio of 6.4:1. The Tournament Speed Spool specs: TS1HL Left 6.4:1 7.9 9BB + 1RB 12/120 The BB-1 Speed Spool specs: BB1HZL Left 6.4:1 7.2 9SS + 1RB 12/160 I guess I like the less line capacity of the Tournament Speed Spool and it's not that much heavier than the BB-1. Help me decide...I'd like to buy one before the end of Easter Sunday.
  5. thank you! So what do the 2 blue brakes do? is it possible to set 3 brakes opposite each other like on Shimanos VBS?
  6. I'd like to ask if a pic with the brake side cover off, I am interested to see what the centrifugal braking looks like, please. Thank you, Ghost
  7. Doesn't work all that well, quite subtle action. oh well it was a shot.
  8. Been thinking about this today, I read some guys have cut the tail in half to have a different look on a swimbait or jig. I have some single hook frog hooks, and thought of splitting the tail and using it as a frog. Will have to give this a shot next weekend.
  9. WHAT COLORS ARE WORKING FOR YOU GUYS AS A SWIMBAIT?
  10. I bought one a couple weeks ago and I can tell you it`s a really good reel to use. Fits the hand nicely and did not have any backlash. I had the RevoS 3rd gen and did not like the braking system or how low the main gear sat, it intruded with how I held the reel and rod. Had no problem dialing it in and getting long casts. I use mine for all techs
  11. It's on sale now for $59.97. Just wondering if it's even worth buying. Not interested in the PQ cuz I have the original Carbonlite and a special edition one that's similar to the Carbonlite but without the carbon handle. I really don't need another reel but for the price...
  12. I can't think of any squarebills with rattles. So why silent?
  13. This color is suppose to mimic what kind of fish?
  14. I live in Southern California. Sure don't miss Midwest winters...
  15. FISH!!! I mean, CATCH!!! Arrived today and it looks and feels really sweet! Mounted on a Daiwa Cielo rod, 6'10" M/H: Mounted on an Academy Ethos Microguide rod, 6'10" M/H: Side view to show the Fuji SK2 reel seat of the Ethos rod: Now I can't wait for the weekend to be here...
  16. I have the 6'10" m/h. Just got the Lexa today. thanks for the very good info!
  17. Can braided line be used on the guides?
  18. Can Reel Grips be installed on the flat paddle grips on Lews Baitcast reels?
  19. This is in regards to the baitcast rod. I know it's specifically made for braided line, but can mono line also be used? I know it has a softer tip since braid has no stretch. There's a 7'6" model I am contemplating on buying for use as a swimbait rod, thinking of using 15-20 lb P-Line. I dont want to spend $$$ for a rod to chunk up to 3 oz swimbaits. Any of you own the Sock and have or are using mono line with it?
  20. I have a Shimano Cardiff 301 and I am wondering if an Abu Garcia power handle will fit on the Cardiff and if will work.

I was using the Minus 1 just under the surface, a foot or so? I tried topwater lure, got a new Lobina Rio Rico but no love as of yet.

    1. 4 lb bass 2. 3 lb bass 3. 2 lb bass Totally nice early morning bassing at this pond. This is the same little pond I caught a 6 lb'er almost a month ago. You can see I used a Mann's Minus 1 in bone color. It was like all 3 bass were caught in the same area of the pond, they were not by shore bedding. They were out like in the middle of the lake. Totally made my day after a stupid, crazy week at work, this was the way to end one crappy week and start a new week...and waiting till the following weekend when I can wet a line! Fishing is my Zen...
