El Dorado Park in Long Beach
Alright, being that I rarely fish anymore, due to health problems. I'm gonna give you El Do guys a great tip, doesn't work all the time, but is your best bet to get a decent fish. I prefer a spinning rig, and 6 to 8lb copoly, or a good fluro line, such as Yozuri Ultrasoft. Tie on a # 2 or smaller worm hook, then rig up a 6" flat tail roboworm, or any worm that has good action while SLOWLY retrieving it. Then ad a #5 splitshot about 18" above the hook, make sure you clamp it down tight so it doesn't slide down the line. Cast out to where you think fish may be, let the bait SIT for a good min. then slowly bring the bait in, 2 turns on the crank every 30 seconds or so. Keep in mind that if there are weeds your gonna get hung up, once you feel the snag, Do Not pull, lift the rod tip as high as you can, then with your arm, lift even higher, at the same time gently pull the rod toward you, most times that will save a bait. good Luck to you guys.

Do You Always Trim Legs
Trim mine, no matter what brand. I also trim some at angles and some are cut so the legs are uneven.....no, seriously..

Review: Yo-Zuri Hybrid
I have been using Yozuri Ultrasoft for about the last 2 yrs. I have tried others, including Izorline, and the ever popular fluro lines. In the end, I'm back to Yozuri. I might mention that I do a bunch of salt water bay fishing from my float tube, and target Spotted Bay Bass. On both of my set ups, 1 being a baitcaster and the other a spinning rig, both are set up with 8 lb ultra soft, even pitching in around docks, rocks and muscles, this line has proven to be a winner even with the semi toothy fish. I have less break offs then my friend who uses 10 lb Izorline xxx. The bad part is, I wasted so much $$$ on the other lines that I could have almost bought a decent reel..lol Also re; line conditioner, according to the Yozuri reps, no line conditioner can penetrate this line, so while it may leave a temporary coating on it, it does little else to loosen the line up. If you have a spool with a lot of memory in it, it's likely an old spool, I have run across that before with some 15lb on a 300 yd spool. I'm back to buying filler spools, seems the line is fresh and I haven't had any issues in the last year, I also get all my line from the Long Fin here in so. cali..you can order it online.

Question About Motorcycle Riders
One day I would love to own a knee drager with a Harley. This is coming from a guy that grew up in a Harley house. I also have a Harley engine inked on me. There are times were I would love to go to the track and have fun. Can't really do that on a slow heavy Harley. Where do you live...? Own a knee dragger...bring it..LOL

Top 5 Swimbaits For Noobs
Well, I don't need 5 6" weedless hudds, rof depends on where you fish, same for a 8" hudd. if you choose to go that big, the 795 is better for the 6" Get a 6" spro in ss, and a floater, in whatever pattern you like. 3:16 Missionfish in 5 and 7" sizes, pick your pattern. 6" Lunker punker, in your favorite flavor. Those will catch you fish, IF worked properly, and you dedicate a fair amount of time to chuckin big baits.

Swimbait Combo With Braid
With that rod your not going to be tossing what I would term Heavy baits, my guess is under 3oz. Let say your looking at baits like a 6" Huddelston for example, that bait can and does get thrown on 15-17 lb test, be fluro, copoly or mono. You could use braid If your fishing in heavy mats, ect. The only thing I use braid for anymore is flippin, and throwing heavy topwater baits like a 8" lunker punker, for all other sub surface I use 20 to 30 lb coploy or fluro, depending. Also, if you intend to use a leader on the braid, you stand a better chance of a castoff, with heavier baits. After losing about 100.00 in baits, I finally learned...the hard way..

Crayfish Baits
If your going to toss lizards, check out the ragetail lizard, the action is crazy, and they get bit..

Suggestions For Shallow Lake
Another point for shallow water with a bunch of junk on the bottom...keep your rod tip high, when you feel a possible snag, Lightly lift your rod w/o cranking, once you have cleared the object, then slowly crank. I find I can't work through some bad areas by doing this, even with baits that would norally get stuck. This isn't a 100% fool proof, but you will lose way less baits.

Favorite Worm To Drop Shot
90% of the time on a drop shot, I use a 6" Hologram Shad Roboworm. The rest of the time, I use, Senko's, Tiki worms, and an assortment of craw/ creature baits. Whatever works for you, use it..

Does Putting Gills On Swimbait Help
I've done that to a couple of my soft baits, also I painted the gills red a 2 of my hard swimbaits, 1 of my punkers. In my case it made no difference in my catch ratio..

Stradic Supertuned???
Mine works fine, I even use it for light saltwater (FI2500) I see no reason to modify it, at least from a performance point of view.

Seaguar Flour Problems
I had problems with Invisx in 6 lb, and Abrazx in 10lb. All of my breakage problems were with the line itself, Not my knots. I went so far as to inquire at the seaguar booth at a Fred Hall show. I talked to 2 reps, after some persistent quarry's the head rep, finally told they did have some breakage problems with the invisx, and gave me a new spool, I tried it out, as a top shot, and a leader, even in salt water bay fishing, and it worked fine....so far. I haven't bought any new AbrazX, preferring to spend my $$ on proven YoZuri ultrasoft line. I don't fish gin clear water that much, so I'll stick with what works best for me.

Bass fishing at Lake Perris,Moreno Valley, Ca
Grats on catching some fish at Perris. And yep, I did forget the Oxblood red roboworm, as was said they work well at most so cal lakes. Keep in mind, nothing is a sure thing, knowing the lake and the habits of the bass really help. BTW, if you want to fish some Tough lakes/ponds, try fishing at a city park lake...

Real Swimbaits Vs Paddletails
Butch has been known to lurk here, not sure if he's a member though. I can tell you that if you watch his vid's on U tube, you'll see that he catches some monster's on the 8" Hudd's, they also sponsor him, plus he's a great fisherman. Mike Long is another Big Bass guy here in so. Cali. he uses several types of baits. IMHO, if I were to have to choose just 1 bait, i.e. swimbait, it would be a 8" Hudd in trout ROF 5. Just my 4 cents.
