  1. Having fresh line, and possibly getting a PB, is more important than saving 5.00 to me.
  2. Have to say, my Son who is 47 works his rear off. My grand daughter who goes to a out of state university, comes home for the summer break, and immediately looks for a summer job, but she can't get hired due to here short stay at home, which really frustrating to her. Both get props from me, very proud of both of them.
  3. Try a couple of things. A Texas rigged worm, at least 6" long, also drop shot worm. Work the t rig along the bottom Slowly..If you have any ribbon tailed worms, use a light split shot and swim it a slow as you are able to. Color of the worms usually depend on water clarity, use as light of line as possible. Lastly wacky rigging a senco would be worth a try..
  4. Had a similar situation..This guy who was 20 at the time called me for work. All he had was his tool bags and a skill saw, hmmm. The other minus was that he had no transportation, and lived about 25 miles from me. I took a chance, and offered to meet him as close to the job as possible. I was doing a huge double deck in the Hollywood hills. I was a bit Leary, and offered him 10.00 per hr. told what I needed done, as I had to go to another job near by. Came back in 1 1/2 hrs..and he did about 2 1/2 hrs worth of work in that time, and did a great job. I had him work for me for another week, as we finished that job. He asked if I had more work for him. Problem was he didn't have a car, or better yet a truck. I told him I couldn't keep driving for 20 to 30 mins to pick him up every day. Anyway, I gave him 150.00 bonus for the week, told him if he gets a car, ect, to call me. Shame cause the kid was a ideal carpenter. So yeah there are young folks that do know what a good days work is.
  5. This is nothing new. As a retired Contractor/Carpenter, I always had problems with guys quit after a short period of time, some I had to fire for various reasons. What I found was as the years passed from the early 80's up until 2010 when I retired, that the problem got worse. The makeup of the carpenters, plumbers, and skilled work force shrunk, even the union guys from what I gather went into new areas of the work force, be it for better pay, or work that wasn't so labor intensive, I don't know. What I did see was the racial makeup of the skilled work force change. Here in So. Cali, more latino's began to do the plumbing, carpentry, electrical, ect. As I come across most of the residential remodels/new construction, I seldom see any white guys, is any correlation here..? One thing is for sure, there are flakes of all races and skill sets. Drugs, drinking, ect I'm sure played a major roll in the turnover of help.
  6. Yeah, please post a review on the XT rod if you would.
  7. Me personally, I would start by tossing a frog over the vegetation, if nada, then I would be punching in the green stuff, and work from there..
  8. Beat me to it..Yeah, lake #1.
  9. Looks like TW is going to be carrying their fishing line...
  10. I fished a ton of salt with my old Shimano reels, both baitcast and spinning. I rinsed them thoroughly as soon as I got off the water. Once a week I cleaned them with a product called reel scrubber, comes in a aerosol can. I had the factory bearings, but upgraded drag washers. Outside of tearing them down for a complete clean and lube once every 3 months or so, I never had a problem with any of my reels. Maintenance is the key.
  11. This sums it up for me also..Why limit yourself..?

  15. My Son who lives in Orange County, had books and other items fly off the shelves..Thankfully nothing was damaged. At our house, my wife said the house which was built in 1927 shook pretty good, I wasn't home, about 12 miles to the east, I felt nada. Hope all is well for all you cali folks out there.

  17. In all the years I've been fishing, I'd say the vast majority of the bass I've caught have been on a Roboworm t rigged. I keep a good stock of them..?
  18. I've tossed jigs from shore for years. Most times I used 12-14 lb copoly, or 15 lb mono. And yes, I've got snagged a few times, just part of the game..
  19. A speedy recovery for Kyle..I really hope they catch the a$$hat that hit him, seems more and more idiots are fleeing the scene of accidents these days.
