MS 13
What I'd like to know, is why they seem to glorify these low life gangsters on t.v..? Keeping in mind they have no problems shooting it out in a public setting, killing small kids, and innocent people. These guys are cowards to say the least, doing drive by's ect. I say put them all on a deserted island, and let em have at it..

curado201E7
I don't think it's the rod..I also have mine on a shimano 7'mh xf...and I don't have any problems with distance from shore, although a whippier rod would help..lol When was the reel last serviced/cleaned and lubed..?

curado201E7
Kinda depends on the structure. 2lb anything would snap in a heart beat where I fish. As for the 201E. I would turn all the brakes off, you can set 2 on and still get some good distance, depending on the weight of the lure, and your ROD..you can't toss a 1/4oz bait with a broomstick.. ;D Also, if your really trying to chuck it out there, you need to let the rod do the work. If your looking for 50 yd cast's, forget that too, unless you have a real strong wind at your back..

The best knot for leaders....
I still use the uni to uni..6 wraps on the leader, and 8 on the braid..and no, the knot does not interfere with the guides. Even with heavy swimbaits, I've never had a knot break.

Questions on Chronarch reels.
I have the Chronacrh bpv 101, and the Curado 301E. When I first looked at the Curado, I liked it, I then asked to see the Chronarch..after handling it for a few mins..I could tell the Chronarch was much smoother, but the ratio is also slower. Casting wise, they both cast very well, I have thrown everything from weightless plastic's, to 4 oz swimbaits with them. The Curado is my main swimbait reel, but it does get used for other techniques as well. I do use the Chronarch a bunch for flippin, and pitchin..also in my hands cast's lighter baits easier, but then the Curado 301 probably wasn't designed for that, also the rod has allot to do with it too. I would say for a good all a round reel, either one will do just fine, although imho, the Chronarch is worth the extra $$$. Also, I've used a few different lines on my reels, from 8lb mono to 55 lb braid, they all work great. Oh, and I did upgrade the drags in both reels..bearings are stock. As for parts, never had to have anything replaced, but you might contact Shimano to check on parts availability.

El Dorado Park in Long Beach
I use to fish the A pond everyday when I lived in Torrance. Kind of a hit or miss thing there. Seems like it takes a different type of bait on a daily basis to catch a good fish. I have caught some nice ones on the dropshot and texas rigged worms, ya just have to keep at it. If there's any weeds left, drop your worm right down in the thick of them.. My least productive bait was a spinnerbait. Also try a chatterbait in a bluegill patteren.

Line Testing Results
The 6lb youzuri ultrasoft will have Much better abrasion resistance, and will be much stronger than the Invisx..I speak from experience on these 2 lines. In fact, I stopped using fluro, and went back to my trusted Yozuri. Example..I fish some saltwater in a float tube..I hooked into what I think was a barndoor Hali, fought it for 40 mins. until it broke off, that was with 8lb yozuri ultrasoft.
