St. Croix Avid Ultralight Rod
I am not sure if this will help, but I have a St. Croix ultra light paired up with a Shimano and I think very highly of that rod. I don't use it much anymore, but that is really because I have not been UL fishing in a LONG time! St. Croix makes great rods, no doubt about that!

What's The Best Proven Baitcasting Reel With 7:0:1 Or Higher Gear Ratio In The $200-$300 Range?
Out of work now, I quit do to medical reasons (moved back to an area that can handle my condition). I am about ready to sell that Rocket on the Flea Market though. I've found them for $200-$210 though.

What's The Best Proven Baitcasting Reel With 7:0:1 Or Higher Gear Ratio In The $200-$300 Range?
i tell you, I know this is going to stir the pot and I am not trying to, but I demoed a Quantum 100 EXO PT 7.3 to 1 and I LOVED that reel! True, I had it for 4 days, but I would trade all my Curado E's and Revo Rocket for those Quantums.

Help Me Maximize My Casting Distance. Reel Upgrades, Bearings Etc?
I would suggest start with the cheaper solutions and work your way up the ladder depending on results vs. $$. Supertuning is great! I have my three Curado E's all done by DVT, they are awesome. But, one thing, I really dont need all the distance because I am at the limit of my hook setting range at the end of the cast. Basic maintenance and cheaper solutions can work as well. Good luck! Wdy

Caution! Siebert Jigs
Mmm, I think I am going to be $15 poorer each month because I have never caught anything on a jig. Yes, never. I think I need to remedy that soon.

Chronarch 51E
Ontario, I dont have a 51E Chronarch, but I do have a Curado 50E. That is pretty much exclusively what I use my 50E for, I saw on TW's website you can Demo the Chronarch 51E. Maybe, try it out first to be sure first. But, as a suggestion, have you looked at a 13 ***? That is a little higher than the price range mentioned, but again as a suggestion. Good luck, Wdy

New Powelll
I wonder which price range they are going to land in. I would hate to have to sell off my Endurance's to upgrade.

Dedicated Flipping Reels
You will definitly notice the longer 102mm handle when using it on a 50E. The main item is, your hand will be cupping the 50, almost hiding in your hand, and your right hand will be making larger turns reeling in. Not what your use to, not bad, just different. I am not sure of the original length of the handle OEM on the 50, but I would guess it is less than 90mm. (yea, I do love the swept handles as well now!) And South FLA is probably right. I have noticed when I change over and use a DT-10 in this 50E of mine, the swept handle pays off. Much easier to reel in. My 50 is my main do anything type reel now. I have a Revo Rocket for pitching, but that reel and I are not jiving up right now. hope that helps dam007

Dedicated Flipping Reels
This might give you an idea Dam0007, I've got a 50E that DVT put in a 7 to 1 gear set for me, carbontex drag, and orange Boca bearings. Then, the 102mm Hawgtech swept handle was added. I do prefer a smaller spool. To me it makes using lighter weights easier when a delicate presentation is needed. The drag has the power for sure. I really like the Carbontex drag washers! The handle is a little weird to get used to being so large, but nice when a bigger fish is on. Plus, the me the Boca Bearings allow you to be more precise on repeated pitches.

Why Isn't Quantum More Popular?
Well, I am going to demo an EXO PT here in a couple of days through TW. I've always been curious about them, just not sure I want to pay $250/reel yet. (I have a family of supertuned Curado E's and a Revo Rocket, but I am an engineer and really like the EXO design philosophy.) I checked Tackle Tour and their rating on the EXO was higher than most reels I have, or considering.

Powell Rods
I have the 755 Powell Endurance and for cranking and it is great!! Listen to the above comments, these rods can be found cheaper then $200. As far as cranking with the 755, DT-16s are not an issue at all! (Rapalas are my go to crankbait) So, I am imagine the deeper ones are just fine with that rod. Good luck!

Impressions Of The Rage Bug
Has anyone tried swinging these back on the surface like a buzzbait? /if the legs kick well enough. (I haven't gotten out to fish yet, I got a not so good health report and wifey put me on house arrest till I see a specialist so, that is why I am asking.)

Impressions Of The Rage Bug
Yep, I have the Blue Craw and Green Pumpkin are on the way. I have a tournament coming up next month on the Potomac that I am saving these for. But, I have a feeling a majority of mine will be used before hand and I will need to place another order with Siebert.

Impressions Of The Rage Bug
Got mine in the mail today from Siebert! Some were backordered, but I don't need that color right now. Can't wait to find out on my own how they do here in Central VA!!!
