I had no idea that progressive was so bad until Christmas eve. Guy hit my truck and ran off. Passenger rear panel is pretty much ruined along with the rear bumper. They made me do a photo/video estimate and wouldn't even send someone out. They quoted me at $1700 total minus deductible. Lowest quote I got from a shop was almost $3k. Done with them next renewal as well.

Same experience here with CS. I've even been consistently hung up on while trying to get brand new defective reels fixed! I had 2 veritas break on the cast before I wrote off Abu completely. I have a winch and an MGX left but sold everything else. Never again!

I don't use the DT series but I throw 5xds, 6xds and even 3/4oz traps on it. It's not a broomstick at all. Also handles the 10xd really well. As another option, I'll throw the irod Genesis II Fred's Crank Launcher in the mix. Really love this rod. It has a really nice tip and can also handle just about medium or deep crank.

No, not at all. It actually feels like the handle isn't even connected it's so smooth. Probably won't keep mine though. Just doesn't feel right on the rod I got it for.

Very well said my friend! I can't remember the last time I actually bought fishing gear from a store myself. And you're right, the traditional family life is becoming nonexistent. So many parents find it much easier to hand their children a video game, phone or tablet instead of spending time actually showing them something useful. I believe that this kind of exposure leads to a population of kids who know and see too much too soon. Many get consumed in social media and fall into trying to fit into crowds they shouldn't be in. Fishing is the last thing on their mind at this point. My son loves pumping himself up with fishing videos on YouTube prior to a trip. Then he wants to know why we don't have the huge wrapped boat and expensive flat screen TV monitor sonars he sees on the different channels. Given, he's only 8 yrs old. But it's an example of how easily they can get affected by what they see when they don't yet understand things. Everything in moderation IMO.

805cb is the best all around medium and deep diving crank rod imo.

I was out there Sat and had a pretty good scare in the wind. It picked up fast and white caps were rolling. Made it back to the ramp pretty wet and freezing!

I think it's more of a confidence thing but I know that glitter makes me think I will catch more fish so hey....all my big fish last year came off junebug or black/blue flake.

I just received my curado k and love everything about it except the weight. It's the only reel over 7oz that I use now.

Same thing with me. I need another all purpose MH rod and was thinking of getting one. There's a couple YouTube vids on them as well.

I've only tried the flippin one and the Apex Elite. Both were very well built. I think Ardent is pretty overlooked by anglers. I was told by CS that a lefty would be available this month. Still not sure about that gear ratio though.
