  1. My PB on a Senko is 6lbs 11oz!!!
  2. Your kidding right!?! An Ol' Monster needs at least a 5/0 EWG!!!
  3. I would start with a Spro popping frog for the active fish and than follow up with a T-rig plastic.
  4. Some use the leader for abrasion resistance in rock or wood. Others for the extra shock absorption it provides(braid has no stretch). I do not believe it makes a difference in visibility so i use straight braid all the time! I have noticed NO decrease in the amount of bites i get!
  5. Cool fish & hair bro, LOL!!! Congrats!!!!!!!!!
  6. WOW!!!!!!!!! I agree with Burley!
  7. Just don't stop reeling it!!
  8. How can you set the hook while sitting down though, LOL!!!! Just kidding man!!!
  9. If June Bug isn't on the list i'm out...........................and i'm taking FL with me!!! >
  10. I use a Gamakatsu EWG 4/0 hook and it never fails me!
  11. LOL, that is exactly what we do to em, LOL!!!!!!!!!
  12. Theres no actual truth to that statement, I'm not picking on you Senko77 but theres just waaaaay to many good rods under $200. Have you had the chance to fish a Rainshadow blank? The RX8 is under $200 and I'll put it up against any rod in that price range. I have used an Rx8+ and it is no better than a Powell IMO. And it is way more than $200 too. Atleast it was when i dealt with them! I agree that Powell is indeed the best rod in it's range hands down!!!
  13. That is a fat fish! I say 6 1/2-7lbs. CONGRATS
  14. Exactly!!!! Went through this today here! Everything pointed towards an excellent day but we ended up having to perform miracles to hook them!!
  15. Exactly what i do! I tried a hard hook set with a t-rig while sitting once and almost fell out of the boat!!!
  16. So many variables go into this that it is hard to explain them all! You have to pay close attention and let the fish tell you exactly what they want on any given day. We went out this week and had a similar problem. We where getting bit on every other cast with a T-Rig but couldn't hook up(some were Blue Gills Though). After downsizing with no success we decided to regroup! We changed to a heavily scented Powerbait worm and landed 15 in 1 1/2 hours(including two 4lbers)! The extra scent made them take it in all the way and hold it as well. Just a thought!
  17. I would use it just for fun but not to catch fish really! Personally, i think that all this technology used to find fish kind of takes the fun and purpose out of it(for me anyways)! I mean whats next, a mini sub marine to go and grab them by hand!?!
  18. x2. big bass down here in florida didn't get big by eating minnows. i will give it a go when the frog bite starts crackin. bocabasser, Just to let you in, the frog bite has been in full swing for months now! And bigger is not always better for big bass either! All my 5lb + bass have been on the popper or JR Spro frogs.
  19. Man i caught one about two months ago that weighed like 9lbs! They fight harder than a bass IMO!
  20. I have Revos so i just lock mine down, LOL! The scale technique is what i have used in the past as well.
  21. I actually love blue bird skies on my lakes! It is perfect flippin' weather for me!
  22. Personally i don't think i would use this! It would take a HUGE fish to get this in it's mouth and get a good hook set! The 65 is perfect size IMO!
  23. Powell Max rods at $139.99 with split grips/no fore grip they are the best rod for the $ IMO!!!
  24. 8 pages and going strong...........................................
