  1. So how many pros have you spoken to about this? How much do you actually fish a jig? The less resistance that the guard puts up the easier the hook will penetrate in the fishes mouth. Only a few strands are needed to make it weedless anyways!
  2. Don't feel too bad! I fished with a member on this forum Sat and lost the fish of my life! I know nobody will believe it but oh well! I was flippin' a worm to pads when i saw a GIANT bass dart out and take it on the fall(about 8' away). I reacted way too soon because i saw it! With my flippin' stick, Revo SX and 65lb braid i set the hook opposite of the fishes direction. The reel made a pop noise and the handle started spinning backwards! My wrist hurt bad after, it was like setting into a tree! The Revos that i love so much caused me to lose what was a new PB form me!!!!
  3. I think it makes a hug difference personally! The hooks on most jigs are the thickness/gauge of superline hooks. Making it harder to penetrate the bone like mouth of the fish. I was loosing a lot of fish with fluoro as well until i switched to braid on my jig/worm rod!
  4. BPS XPS is the strongest fluoro by far imo! its all i use now.
  5. Use the search feature, this has been covered numerous times in the last couple weeks!
  6. Definitely the STX man! The premier is an overpriced hunk a crap IMO! The drag stinks, not nearly as smooth as the STX and it doesn't cast as far either!
  7. I would take some strands out and fan them but leave the length as is. Jigs require a hard hook set in any situation and that is further amplified in heavy cover! I use braided line on mine so it makes it a lot easier to set!
  8. I trim all my jigs to be just above the hook point. I also reduce the # of strands it has and then i will spread/fan them out as well. If i am fishing very heavy cover i will leave it as is.
  9. White/Chart spinnerbait, black/blue jigs and black 8" T-rigged worms work good for me in those conditions!
  10. drop shot fluke or trick worm, Carolina rigs & swimbaits
  11. LOL, come on man, i am in FL and fish through the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. 3/8oz white/chart Booyah spinnerbait
  13. I have used anise oil and salt or garlic
  14. Yup, eyes up and straight on the hook! http://www.ragetail.com/news/rage-toad-rigging/
  15. Spro, DD22 and traps all on a BPS crankin' stick - MH/F in 7'. Mattlures gill on a 7' 6" Powell Max flippin stick and 65lb braid.
  16. I have caught many on my first cast and it is almost always a good day!
  17. If you just want the spool out you don't have to take any screw out! Just back out the long pin that runs side to side of the reel. Than simply twist the brakes side up and the side plate comes out! Do not pull, just twist up!
  18. How does a backlash make you have to open the reel?
  19. I use B.A.N.G spray scent in my bags. I spray that stuff in there and it will not dry out. Good luck getting a hold on those slippery things when you try and get one out though, LOL!
  20. Rage Tail coffee makes me happy and Charlie worms craws as well!!!!!!!
  21. GREAT VIDEO YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad i made it on(not the biggest fish pic though)!
  22. I got a Minn Kota one at Wal-Mart and it fits any TM! The thing is sturdy as hell and i love it!!!
