crankbait disappointment again
One would figure you would have already put a worm on than! They don't always want a crank man!

Weight for it!
Like stated above, i will use the lightest i can get away with. If i can wiggle a lure in some hyacinth mats with a 1/2oz instead of a 1oz i will. If there is no cover i will go weightless and use a SuperLine hook as the extra weight.

cold front
After a major cold front a bass will usually go into any available cover and get sluggish. I prefer slow moving lures like T-rigged plastics. Another way to get them is by burning a Rat-L-Trap around available cover. A lot of times this will draw a reaction strike. Always make repeated casts to the same spot/area, BEST OF LUCK!!!!

Bass Digging In The Sand

advice on fishing lipless crank
First I will cast out along any cover or potential bass hang outs. I let the lure fall a few feet and then lift the rod up in a sweeping motion. This makes the lure dart back near the surface like an injured bait fish. Then simply lower the rod with a semi slack line and let it flutter back down, reel in slack and repeat. I have found this to be deadly when they are not chasing a trap!

kistler rods.
You should feel the Argon and helium series man! One of my favorite rods is my Argon 7' 1" H/F with XPS fluoro and Tungsten weights. I can feel the vibration of a ribbon tail worm as it falls through the water!

Good line for crankbaits or spinnerbaits
I would only use the winch if you are mainly fishing deep water. The STX will allow for more versatility. You can cast light lures with 17lb fluoro as long as the rod has enough tip and the reel is set right.

Budget friendly cranks?
Strike King and Rapala(they are worth it)

Hang ups last night.....
Very true indeed! All you can do is work the lure very slowly and pay attention at all times. Learn what is a branch/grass and what is a fish. You will lose a few but if you work through it slow you can decrease the amount you lose.

yay
Is it just me or does this not make since!?!

Good line for crankbaits or spinnerbaits
I use BPS XPS 14lb fluoro for my cranks and spinnerbaits too. When i fish them around cover i will move up to 17lb.

gear ratio ???
worm rod= 7:1:1 spinnerbait rod= 6:4:1 crankbait rod= 6:4:1 flipping rod= 7:1:1 All are Revos

Hooksets with ewg on a t-rig
You must not fish them very much or fish them in cover! A lot of times the lure will ball up on the hook shank causing the hook point to have to penetrate the lure several times and then the fishes hard bony mouth as well. So you keep on light tugging them and we will keep hooking them!!

Question about Pros ???
I use the pros advertisements simply as informative tools. They make me aware of what new gear is available that maybe i didn't know about. After that i will do research on the items for myself and make decisions on which may or may not work for me.

Out with the old, in with the new.
I have been using Gamakatsu hooks for many years and have yet to have them fail me. Even after days of abuse in heavy cover and big fish. If it aint broke...........................................

New to lake fishing. Help
A good way to quickly locate fish and get a feel for what they are doing and where they are would be working a spinnerbait or Rat-L-Trap through the timber. Once you have a basic idea you can start targeting specific areas with T-rigs, drop shots or jigs. BEST OF LUCK

Punching Heavy Cover
Punching is just what it sounds like really. Using a heavy weight to punch/tear through matted vegetation to get your lure to bass underneath. Here in FL i punch pads, hydrilla, hyacinths, Kissimmee grass or a mix of all. Weights are always tungsten and size depends on the thickness of the cover you are punching. I use a Powell Max 766H(7' 6" Mag H/Ex F) with a Revo STX in 7:1:1 gear ratio spooled with 65lb FireLine Braid. Hooks are 4/0-5/0 Gamakatsu SuperLine EWG, BPS bobber stops and a craw type lure. Sometimes you really do have to swing the bait up in the air and crash it down on the mat in order to penetrate! Once you get a bite you have to act fast if you want to extract the fish from the cover. Set the hook hard and once the fish is hooked never give it a break or slack line.

Best line for soft plastics and jigs?

advice on fishing lipless crank
I just throw them around cover with a medium retrieve and they usually nail it that way! If not i will slow down or speed up a bit. If the water is slightly deeper i will try the yo yo retrieve.
