  1. Lots of good info in here, thanks!
  2. Pretty awsome Rhino! How long did it take to clear that snow?
  3. Thanks. Thats good to know. I was thinking the lightest weight to get through was better. I was worried 1oz might be to heavy.
  4. Cool i cant wait to try it out. I'll pick up a couple punch rigs in 3/4 and 1oz. to see how it works out. Pads should be coming up good in a couple of months so i have plenty of time to look at a new combo for punching if i get into it. I could save alot of money if i stayed off the internet lol.
  5. Thanks for the info guys.
  6. Ive been watching to many youtube videos of people punching mats on Okeechobee and now i have to try it out for myself. Ill be making the hour and a half drive to Reelfoot lake rather than a 22 hour drive to Okeechobee though lol. Im going to order a few Siebert outdors punch rigs but im not sure which size i need to get through the pads. I would like to buy a few of what i need instead of spending a ton of money experimenting with several different sizes.
  7. A brand new Ranger boat and Chevy truck!!! He had a good day.
  8. Flippin & pitchin a t-rig or throwing a jerkbait.
  9. I use the c-rig also but i like to use chicken liver or a live bluegill for bait. I like to throw out some jugs also.
  10. I guess i'm the odd ball here. If my spinner bait isn't perfectly straight it doesn't bother me. I don't think the bass care if it runs sideways or upside down (if that was possible). I fish alot of sloughs that are full of bowfin and they will destroy a spinner bait and they don't usually run true after that. I just bend them back close to true and keep on casting, the bass don't seem to mind. The bowfin however love to eat the brand new ones.
  11. If i thought it would help at all i would show this thread to my wife. She is always looking for the front of the line.
  12. Seems like you still have a dead short somewhere. Have you tried to wiggle the wiring harness around while it is running on the muff? If possible do one wire at a time to isolate the problem.
  13. Cool pics. Ike's got a nice lead, I hope he pulls it off.
  14. Looks legit to me. Either way it goes that is a nice fish!
  15. I agree with Hootie. I have had 2 PQ's that had problems. The first one was 5 or 6 years old and all i had to pay was $15 shipping to get it repaired. The other had a problem with the drag right out of the box. They replaced it with no problem at all. I was very happy with their customer service.
  16. Yes you can run a gas motor but i think there is a hp limit. All the rules are listed in the lower hatchie booklet you are required to have while on the refuge.
  17. I have used the alumiweld before on a few small holes in a jon boat. It stopped the leaks but it doesn't look as good as weld. I don't think i would use it on a crack in my transom though. The difference in the hardness of alumiweld and the aluminum will likely cause it to crack on either side of the patch when it flexes while running the motor. And if it does crack again it will be a pain to get the alumiweld off and clean the aluminum so it can be welded. If you do decide to try it, make sure you clean the metal up with a scotch bright pad or something similar. Aluminum needs to be very clean when welding on.
  18. I used to fish it a few times a year. I always did good on white spinnerbaits and black/blue t-rigged craws. I haven't fished it in a couple years but ive pulled some good fish out of there in the past. The lake is real shallow, i think about 6ft is about as deep as it gets.
  19. Ghost River copperhead red, a Memphis beer and (dont think its classified as micro brew anymore) Sam Adams Rebel IPA are my 2 favorite beers.
  20. Nice fish! I've been wanting to check out Dale Hollow.
  21. Great way to spend the morning! Nice pics.
  22. Thanks guys it was defiantly a trip we will both remember!
  23. Me and my son went to pickwick lake for a couple of days to camp and fish. The wind was bad but we managed to catch around 20 bass. All fish were caught on suspending jerkbaits. This was the best one of the trip. It was his first smallie and a good one at that! 3.02lbs
