  1. I think they are talking about the new RC lucky strikes not the RC lucky craft jerkbaits. I saw them at walmart the other day. They look exactly like the megabass but for only $6.99. I was thinking about trying a couple myself.
  2. Im not sure if it matters to much as long as you get the rod that fits your application.
  3. Try a GLX its only $300 bucks more. Lol just kidding. Ive tried several $100 rods and like ww2farmer said its all personal preference. All of them are decent rods. I will say though that the veritas balances like no other in that price range.
  4. According to the picture in the latest bassmaster magazine there was a 12-3 caught from the Halle park pond!
  5. Last time i was at bass pro shops i was looking at the veritas rods and picked up an 8' h rod. I didnt realize it was 8' till i read it on the blank. It was super light. I bet it would make a great flip/punch rod. I was amazed at the balance of that rod for an 8 footer.
  6. Those do look good and for 6 bucks I may have to pick some up also. Let us know how they work.
  7. I think its one of the best in its price range. I bought a 6'6" mh for my son and plan on getting another for me.
  8. Ive seen that happen at a lake close to me. The guy put his truck in park and when he got out the truck and boat slid off into the water. The ramp was really slick with algae. I hope he has good insurance.
  9. As soon as I feel that "tap tap" I set the hook. I do not hesitate.
  10. Dang good looking baits! How did they perform?
  11. My first baitcast combo was a round pro qualifier reel and bionic blade rod. I used it for 10 years before the rod broke. Good value for the price.
  12. That was a great story and even better fish! Congrats.
  13. That looks like a fun trip for sure. Nice fish!
  14. Last year the levelwind stopped moving on my oldest PQ (5 years) so i took it to basspro to for repair. I told the guy in the reel department how old it was and what it was doing. He didnt know much about the warranty or repairs and basicly to send it in and see. I was a little skeptical but sent it in anyway. I got a phone call about 2 weeks later from the service department. They repaired my reel under warranty and cleaned/lubed it. All it cost me was a few bucks for shipping. I think they replaced a pawl and a bushing, i cant remember. Needless to say i was impressed.
  15. Take a look at the st. Croix rage rods. They have a 7' 4"h f that will handle 1.5 oz lures.
  16. I have always wanted to catch a pike. Funny though I felt the same way about bowfin till I ruined a few good spinnerbaits on them.
  17. I have 1 of each and imo either of the 3 are a good choice. If I had to choose 1 it would be the st. Croix because it seem to balance a little better with my pro qualifier.
  18. Do you fish it the same as you would a worm on a shakey head?
  19. Check the tire sizes. I just replaced the tires on my trailer his year because of uneven wear. When I pulled the tires off to put in the back of my truck they looked different. I had a 185 on one side and a 175 on the other and it came like that from the factory lol.
  20. I read a review somewhere (I cant remember where) that said when you had a decent size fish on that you could feel the reel flex in your hand. Has anyone experienced this? I had a spinning rod that would flex in the reel seat and it drove me crazy.
  21. That was great! Very funny!
  22. I have caught several bass on a rage craw with one claw missing.
  23. Thanks for the advise Sirsnookalot. I will have to check out the walmart there in Mirimar.
  24. Im headed to Florida Sunday to vacation with the family. I always wake up before the roosters crow so I will have a couple hours of fishing time in the mornings and hopefully in the evenings to. I have fished off the beach a few times before and caught a few small fish on spoons and a gotcha lure (I think that's how you spell it lol). I was watching some youtube videos where people were catching big 5-10lb fish on top water in the surf and that looked like a lot of fun. They were using a lure that looked a lot like a bill dance spitn' image, just a little bigger. So my question is is there a certain time of year top water is good on the beach or is anytime a good time. I just didn't want to spend $15-20 a piece on a couple lures to use once or twice a year and be the wrong season for it. I searched a few saltwater forums and couldn't find a good answer. I searched a few other bass forums also and I have to say none of the forums I looked at compare to this site.
  25. The only time i can get that many is when i play against bots on recruit. I do good to get a bloodthirsty lol.
