Help With A Frog Setup
I would leave your Mojo Bass and Citica to the Frog and pitching and Flipping. You can probably use the Compre for smaller plastics/jigs, and spinnerbaits. I would personally get another rod, maybe the Shimano Crucial 7'2" MH for Casting bigger plastics and jigs. You could probably get a Revo S to pair with it and you will be set to go!

I just got a 7' MH Mojo Bass and I think it will be my frog rod. Seems like a Hoss that should do the job

River2Sea Spittin' Wa Frog
Anybody throw this frog? Was at Bass Pro and saw them next to the Spros. I like how it has a bigger profile than the other frogs. Could draw some BIG fish.

Academy Rod Clearance
Went to Academy tonight to look for the Ethos Nano to see what it was all about. They didnt have any there, but they did have a pretty good clearance on a bunch of other rods. Many rods were $20 off. All of the All Star rods, All of the Ethos rods, Abu Vendetta and Veritas, and the Wright & McGill Skeet Reese Honeycomb rods were all $20 off. The St. Croix Mojo Bass rods were $30 off. They only had 2 left, both 7' MH fast Action. They were only $69.99. Bass Pro has them for $109.00, so it could be called $40 off. I thought I would share with all of you in hopes that some of your Academy Stores are having similar clearances. They also had Spro Bronze Eye Frogs and Bronze Eye shads for $6.99.

Paint...soft Bodied Frogs?
i wouldnt do a thing to it. If you try to paint it and screw it up, you will be ticked. The paint could hinder the action of the frog. If you feel you need to do something, I would look at using Sharpies to add color. I however would not paint it though. Seems like baits that catch a lot of fish, will catch them with screwy paint jobs as well.

Bill Dance Answered My Question!!!

Need Some Rod Help
If you like the ducket Ghost Rods, I would probably go with the 7'3" Heavy Rod for the Frogging and pitching and flipping. You could use your 6'6" MH that you already have for plastics and Jigs. I would probably look at getting the 6'10" Medium for some of the smaller plastics and jigs. You could also probably use it for the spinnerbaits as well. Finally, I would look at one of the crankin gods they offer for crankbaits. Not sure if you are crankin deep or shallow. Im not all that great at the CB anyway, so I dont want to lead you wrong in that one. Hope you get some more advice and get a good crew of rods. Good Luck my friend

Jig Or Nekid Craw?
I love throwing the Rage Lobster on a texas rig. I do it with any craw plastic. Anytime I would throw a creature bait, I wouldnt mind throwing a craw on a t rig.

Bad Line Or User Error?
shouldnt the line come off the bottom of the spool when putting it on a spinning reel? i think i heard that somewhere. honestly, over the past 5-6 years I tie the line on the spool and just let the spool run wherever it wants, cause normally I am alone and dont have a place to put the spool. I have only had something like that happen once, and I believe it was a bad spool cause my cousin tried it a few weeks later on the same spool and it was junked. Anyway, at least it was cheap line, right? You will get better as you get into it more

Rod/reel For My Kids
I got an ultra light Ugly Stick back in the day. Not gonna say its really sensitive, but that heifer has been to the end of the world and back. I have caught a bunch of fish on it, using grubs and things like that. Since its so dang soft and flexible, its a fun rod to catch fish on. I think your kids would enjoy it. As for a reel, an Abu Cardinal and a Pfluger President are two relatively cheap reels that I would reccomend. I think those would last quite a while. I got a cheap Quantum reel when I got the two. The Rod has held up much better. I still use it when I go to the river or I let my friends kids use it when they are around (I fish at their farm pond, they wanna fish with me most of the time.)

Rod Power Question For Abu Garcia Veritas Owners
I think either will work for what you want. It is stiffer than most rods. Go with your gut. For smaller tubes and stuff, I would probably go with the M

Crucial Vs Compre
The Crucial is $50 more than the Compre, is it worth the extra $50? Someone said that the Compre is the same rod as the last model of the Crucial. Anyone have experience with these two rods? How are they?

Would This Be A Good Beginner's Baitcasting Combo?
Actually the Veritas has dropped its price in most places to $79.99. I like my Veritas more than my Vendetta, but both are nice rods
