  1. Bass Pro Extreme combo. Reel ended up in the trash, but the rod is still in use. About or 13 years old now. Not too old, but that rod is still a great rod
  2. I use a 7' MH Mojo Bass. Last rod I used was a 6'6". As long as your Abu rod is a MH or H it should be ok. I use 50 lb Power Pro Braided line and tie it directly to the frog. Remember to keep a bit of slack in the line when trying to walk the frog
  3. GOod deal. Glad it all worked out for you!
  4. I wish the Jitterbugs were a bigger size, but considering getting a few of the small ones and hula poppers cause my walmart has them for cheap too
  5. I have 2 7' MH F Veritas rods. LOVE them. I would get that one
  6. I believe Bass Pro Stuff is a year long. I sent an email about the warranty of Falcon Rods and they said 90 days on everything but bass Pro stuff, Either way, Christmas time is past both 30 and 90 days. I do think they will take it back though. Bass Pro has good customer service.
  7. Ive been told 90 days. But I would agree with above that if you catch the right person, you will be fine. That is the hard part though, finding the right person. Maybe email the store, the manager will most likely email you back.
  8. My Frog rod will double as a jig rod if need be. I dont see anything wrong with it. Mine is a 7' MH Mojo Bass. I am also not afraid to throw a Frog on my 7' MH Veritas Rod that I use for Jigs
  9. The Spro Bronzeye Shad walks crazy easy, but I am not so sure it is an all around frog. I am happy throwing a Spro Frog all day, very durable. The legs have melted on some, but they can be replaced with a silicone skirt. I have yet to use the Booyah, but I do really like the spro
  10. I would also say to check out the Crankin Stick. Its a nice Stick for the money
  11. I got two of the curado Gs from Bass Pro a few weeks ago when they were $99. Had never used a Curado before but had heard great things about them so thought I would give them a shot, cause that was a great deal. Anyway, In the few casts I have made, I really like it. I was throwing a Bronzeye Shad on a 7' MH Mojo Bass with 50 lb power Pro. That thing went forever! It was awesome. Looking forward to getting a new rod so I get to try the other one out too!
  12. I would honestly look at seeing if you could change it for a Crankin Stick and get some money back. The Crankin Sticks are really nice for crankbaits! You could purchase another crankbait or two with the money you would save too. I have not heard of the breakage of Crankin Sticks at all, wher frequent on Carbonlites. Bass Pro rods are suppose to have a 1 year warrenty.
  13. FInally get to post on this, I keep seeing it and get frustrated since the weather has been terrible. Anyway, Used my new Revo S and 7' MH Veritas, throwing a Watermelon Red Baby Brush Hog
  14. I wasnt a huge fan of the deep diver, dont remember why, but that was all I have tried. I will give their squarebill a go
  15. All my bronzeye frogs seem to take up water, but it doesnt bother me too much. Ive had a lot of luck with them. I really like how well it walks.
  16. I was planning on using them more in open water or lay downs more than in the heavier cover. It is so easy to walk. Cant wait to actually fish it! Only got 3 casts with it before lightning lit up the sky
  17. I read that a chatterbait with a swimbait instead of a skirt and twin tail trailer is a beast of a Reaction bait in the Spring
  18. The NorthStar Jigs do look really good. I tie quite a few of my own but use a small brand called Slongs, quite a bit too. My favorite jigs from a Large chain store would be the Hart Justice Jig. I dont see many people talking about it, but its a really quality jig that you can get at a very reasonable price. They have a bunch of "assorted" Hart jigs at my Bass Pro for $1.50. I pick up a few every time I go. They have nice heads, great skirts, and good strong hooks. I would say to give them a shot. I got about 20 Okeechobee Craw jigs last year in that bin. Cant find the color in there anymore, got a bunch of Black and Blue and PB&J this year.
  19. I have a buddy who has an older model and he loves it.
  20. Anyone use these yet? I got a few in the winter and got my first shot to throw it this past weekend. Those suckers can walk like crazy! only got a few casts in before some thunder and lightning came in. Just curious if anyone has had any success with them yet.
  21. Do you all remember the Ray Scott Electronic Lures? I remember back in the day, I bought a "Blinky" just to see what it was like in the water at night. It was like a rattle trap but it had a Red blinking light in it. Still try to pull it out from time to time at night when were not doing well. Gives us a bit of a laugh.
  22. That Flexi-jig reminds me of the Leverage spinnerbaits and Buzzbaits, with the spring attaching the hook to the bait.
  23. i would use either soft plastic dyes with Qtips or a sharpie. They have so many sharpies you can use any color and its easy to control
  24. KVD Line and Lure will help a lot! I would look into stretching the line a bit too. get some of that twist out
  25. Like I said before, I would look at a less "Heavy" MH rod. The Shimano Crucial, Bass Pro Extreme, *** *** Black. A 7' MH rod is an all around versatile rod, that Mojo Bass is more like a heavy medium heavy HMH. There are a load of nice rods and if you are looking at a $300 combo, you can get a great setup. I would look at the Revo S, Daiwa Tatula, Daiwa Lexa, Shimano Cardiff or another Citica. There are so many great reels in the $100-150 range. You can use a set up like this for Plastics, Jigs, Spinnerbaits... Its just a really versatile setup.
