Braided Line
Just curious about that. I just dont like the idea of depending on another 2 knots, if I am using a swivel between the leaders. Thats just me though. Maybe I will try it on one of my spinning rods

Everyone who uses braid on spinning gear, do you use a leader?

Reel Grip
I think I am going to try them. Putting them on my White Revo S. Thinking Red, but may go Red/Black/White. What color you all think? Probably gonna put a red rod wrap on the handle of the rod, to help it stick out even more on the deck so i can find it quick

Reel Grip
For those of you who do not like the texture of it, can you flip them inside out and use it? Wouldnt it kinda be cushioned? I dont have any, so I am not sure if its possible to flip them inside out or not. Just a thought

Reel Trade In, Looking At 3 Reels, Any Other Suggestions?
I will probably end up with a MH Veritas because it is much stiffer than a regular MH, but not as stiff as a Heavy. It has a pretty fast tip too. The revo s with a 7' MH Veritas is what I use for my Jig fishing now and I love it. I think I will probably duplicate that for my frog set up because it is so light and should be able to fish it all day if need be. I don't fish in the thickest stuff, most of what I will be fishing is lay downs, open water, under trees, around grass and around bushes and stuff like that. Not many pads where I fish, and not too much slop.

Reel Trade In, Looking At 3 Reels, Any Other Suggestions?
I went with the Revo S. Looked at the Tatula and it rubbed on my hand exactly where the Citica did, which gave me a blister. Which is the exact reason I am in the market for a new reel. And as for bass pro reels, I have had bad luck with them. Love their Extreme Rods though.

Reel Trade In, Looking At 3 Reels, Any Other Suggestions?
Looking hard at reels for Frog Fishing. I have been using a 6.2:1 gear ratio citica from a few years ago and done really well, so the gear ratio is not the biggest deal to me. It is giving me a blister after a few casts and is very uncomfortable to use for even half an hour. I have pretty much decided on a Abu Veritas Rod, now looking at reels. Considering the Revo S, Revo SX, and Daiwa Tatula right now. Cant really afford at the moment a reel that is much more than $150. The trade in is going to cut that cost a decent amount. Really looking most at the Revo S since I have one and really like it quite a bit and I think it has the power for frog fishing. It will save me $20-30 that I don't mind spending on some other baits. Really unhappy with my experience with Bass Pro Reels, so I am going to stay away from them. Anyway, anyone have any other suggestions of quality reels?

My exact thoughts, just a better way than I would have probably said it.

St. Croix Mojo Slop-N-Frog Rod
I dont fish the frog in the heaviest cover. Not many pads and not too much slop. Most of it is around weeds and overhanging trees so I dont think a Heavy action rod is a necessity.

St. Croix Mojo Slop-N-Frog Rod
That MH Veritas is what I am leaning toward. They are light and stiff enough to have some power. Will probably end up getting another. Not sure about the reel though...

Abu Rods And Reels
I bought a Revo S and Veritas last Spring and LOVE IT!

St. Croix Mojo Slop-N-Frog Rod
Anyone use this rod? I am looking for a new Frog Rod and considering this one but don't really know much about it. It is a Heavy, Ive been using a MH and done pretty well but the rod I am using is so dang heavy! Also Considering another Veritas, but not sure if I would go Heavy or Medium Heavy. What do you all think? How is St. Croix customer Service, just in case something happens with the rod?

New Frog Rod And Reel

New Frog Rod And Reel
Lookin hard at a new Rod and Reel for frog fishing. Old one was giving me a blister when I was making casts. The reel I have been using is an Old Citica. The model right after they added the 6.2.1 gear ratio. That joker was a BIG reel. Rubbed my thumb raw when I made 30-40 big casts. Anyway, I am looking for a new reel and a lighter rod. I bought a Revo S and Veritas for Jig fishing last year and love it. Considering getting another Abu setup like that, but not too sure if that is the right choice for frog fishing. Any advice would be helpful. I was doing really well with a piece of junk rod last year, but think i would do even better, especially if the reel wasnt rubbing the skin off my thumb after a few casts. What gear ratio should I look at? What specs for the rod??? Thanks in advanced, yall

Favorite Topwater Frog?
I mostly use the Spro Bronzeye Frog in the original size. I have done really well on the Albino White, Green Tree, and Killer Gill. I am really looking forward to using the new Bronzeye Shad.

Stencil Making?
You could think about electrical tape. It can stretch to fit around rounded objects if needbe. Cut little slivers to make points. Just an idea. I have done this with other things and it has worked pretty well
