Basspro Reel Vs Name Brand
My first two baitcasters were BPS reels and they both quit working about a year into having them. I dont know if they still do, but they had plastic gears in there back in the earlier 2000s. Somehow I had a screw come loose and it tore up the plastic gears. Anyway, after two lemons I decided to go for the "name brands"

Spinning Rod Handle Design Opinions
I have wrapped all of my rod handles in a tennis racket overgrip. It has made them all more comfortable and helps my grip. I have a Daiwa S spinning rod that has a plastic screw down and it was really uncomfortable rod until I wrapped it. now there is a bit of a gap where it screws down, but the over grip has cut down on it. I can throw that thing all day now.

What To Do With A 7.1:1 Reel
I would use the 7.1:1 for burning spinnerbaits or topwaters. I have all 6.4:1s as well, except for a 5.4:1 Revo Winch. I use that for Deep cranking.

Gloves That You Can Feel Rod With
Not too sure that this should go in this forum, but not sure where else to post. Fishing in the early spring is pretty chilly and I am looking for some gloves to at least be a wind break but still be able to feel the bites and everything. Do yall use baseball batting gloves or football gloves or what? Or are yall just beasts and don't use gloves at all?

Biggest Tourney You Ever Fished?
I fished in the College Fishing Central Regional Championship in 2010. There were only 20 boats, but FLW made it really professional. It was really cool, awesome experience.

Zoom Z Nail
I bought a few packs on clearance at bass pro a few years ago but never really tried them out. I believe that they are similar to Senkos and if I ever get around to using them, I will probably fish it weightless or on a shakey head

Thats awesome! If I printed off the cart on the computer that said 69.99 do you think they would match the rod riot?

Do You Like Using A Carolina Rig?
I just started throwing it last year and got somep pretty decent results. I really hated it before, but this year I am actually really excited to throw it a bit. CrappieBasser, I see you use a Carolina Keeper, does anyone else use them or do yall use swivles and leaders? Ive used a Carolina Keeper everytime, but if yall think the other way is better I may switch it up

Shimano Symetre 2500Lf And Lightning Rod
I find the Ligtning Rods to be a bit heavy for my liking. are you close to a bass pro? Very soon they will have a rod trade in. You could get a heck of a rod for $25 off. the Academy website has The St. Croix Mojo Bass rod for $70. They also have the Abu Garcia Veritas for $70 which have both had rave review as well. Personally, I am going to get an abu Garcia Veritas. I think with such a nice reel you would want a rod that would better match it. I would spend the money on one of those two, I think it will help with your fishing experience.

Looking For Two New Setups!
1. Cranking set up- Team Daiwa Light and Tough 7' Crankin Rod. ($120 at Tackle Warehouse) Pair that up with the Abu Garcia Revo Winch. ($200 through TW)=$320. That would be a great setup for cranking. Works well with square bill, rattle trap, deep cranking. Its a set up I actually have and enjoy using. I see that you already like the Revos, the Winch should be good for you. 2. Spinning Rod- G. Loomis Shakey Head Spinning Rod ($250 TW) and Daiwa Exceler reel 2500 model ($80). The reel is amazing for the price and the rod is amazing cause its a Loomis. You can load a boat with the shakey head and if you are having trouble getting a bite, maybe throw a senko. Would be an awesome set up! Those two would help round out your gear. You would have an amazing shakey head set up, which you could use for most finesse things (Senko, wacky worm, etc.) and you would have a fantastic cranking set up. I hope this helps somewhat. From your post, it makes me think you probably dont like the spinning set ups, i know alot of people just go baitcasters. I however have had a lot of success with spinning and would highly reccomend it.

Micro Guide Rods
Thanks guys. I plan on getting the Rod at the store, so I will definately check the epoxy and guides to make sure they are in order. I also dont planon using it too much in nasty water, sub freezing water, and I dont use braid too often, so I think the rod should do well for me. I appreciate the help guys!
