  1. Put a piece of sidewalk chalk in there. It will absorb the water. I had read about it one time and tried it and it worked for me. You may have to switch it out after a while, but it seems to work pretty decently
  2. I have some Solar Bats and they are nice but they fit soooo tight! I know it was made to stay on and stay tight, but it hurts after a while. That being said, they are nice sun glasses
  3. Abu Veritas, Bass Pro Extreme, and *** *** Black are all very good rods that I have felt very comfortable Jig Fishing with
  4. Im my experience with 50 lb braid, you will have no issues casting a 3/8 oz or 1/2 oz jig.
  5. Walmart had some white bomber square bills for really cheap, last time I went. You could sharpie whatever you wanted red...
  6. Ive considered getting a 2.0 but I think I am set on rods for now
  7. I dont know about the Duckett lefties but the The *** Lefties should be out early this summer.
  8. Dont get something cheap. That will be a waste of your money. Like others have said, if she doesnt like it, you have another reel. If she does, then you are gonna earn some good points! But a cheap reel will not last, just gonna be throwing the money out the door. Put a little money into it. It will last longer and should be built better and easier to use. I would probably get the $99 Lews speed spool or a Revo S. They are small comfortable reels that she should not have too much trouble using.
  9. Last year I got the Mojo Bass 7' MH to replace an old cheap 6'6" MH Lightning Rod. I don't like the MojoBass though, so I am going to use it for Chatterbaits I think. I think I prefer the 6'6" size, not sure why. I may get a 6'6" MH Veritas...
  10. I have 2 rods with the same Specs. 7' MH Crankin Rods. One is the Daiwa Light and Tough and one is the Bass Pro Crankin Stick (older model). I had the Crankin Stick but my Uncle talked up the Light and Tough so much that I got one when I could get a discount while I was fishing for my College Club. SO now I have 2 7' MH Cranking Rods. I use the Light and Tough all the time for my Deep Cranking and if something ever happens to it I can easily grab the Crankin Stick, but while the Light and Tough is still workin its magic, what do you all suggest I fish on the other one? I really havent used it a whole lot in the past 2-3 years. Thinking I will throw my bigger Square Bills and Maybe Chatterbaits on it. Is that a good idea or is there something better? Thanks yall
  11. Hey yall. A few years ago I got some Jackall Giron Swimbaits from the Bass Pro outlet store for CHEAP! They were not in the original packaging but They were like $3 or $4 instead of $20 so I figured that I needed to pick those jokers up. There were 3. Anyway. 2 of the 3 I got float. I looked at the differences between the float and sink and the sinking has 3 Ball Weights that create a Rattle in the bait. They add a decent ammount of weight to the bait, that the others dont, which obviously allows the bait to sink instead of float. Everywhere I looked it says they are only sinking baits. Did I get some defected baits? Did they make floating topwater girons before? Anyone know anything about them? PS. I havent really used them at all, but plan on throwing them a bit this year. If they never did make it float, they should think about trying it. Looks a lot like a floating fish in my fish tank. Im gonna try walking the dog with them this spring.
  12. Where the thunder can you get those bags? I like that idea
  13. I wear tennis shoes 100% of the time. I dont mind it at all, except in the rain in the spring and fall. Wet socks are pretty much the most uncomfortable thing in the world, especially when its cool outside... Ive considered getting some cheap rubber boots to wear for rainy days. Im a bit concerned the boots will be uncomfortable to wear all day though. I will get some insoles, but will that be enough to make rubber boots somewhat comfortable? What do you all wear?
  14. I have a small ultralight ugly stick as well. I dont use bottom contact baits for it so I am not worried about feeling. I throw out grubs and maybe a small rebel crawfish crank. It works well and it makes catching a decent fish a whole lot of fun. That is the only thing I will probably use an ugly stick for, unless I enjoyed cat fishing.
  15. Man, I want one so bad! If I get one I will have to get a new rod and reel to handle it though. MAybe in a year or two...
  16. I was night fishing with my uncle on Kentucky Lake one June night. I was using a 10" Anaconda and caught a dink. It wasnt more than 13-14 inches. As I went to re-rig the worm and texpose the hook I looked at the tail. Somehow that fish managed to tie the tail in an overhand knot. Reminded me of someone tying a cherry stem in a knot. Not a really funny story, but it was interesting. A funnier story is when my uncle and I were fishing there was a red wasp flying all over the place. My uncle was swinging at it with his rod. Couldnt get it. I figured since it was by him I wasnt gonna worry about it. And if it was by me if I left it alone it would leave me alone. A few minutes later that joker flew up my shorts and stung me right on the heinie. We were swinging hats, kicking, trying darn near everything to get that wasp. Im sure we looked like lunatics to anyone who was passing by.
  17. I was doing a lot of pitching with my 7' MH Veritas and Revo S combo last year and did pretty well.
  18. Im gonna get one of these Cush-It Rod Floats and I will do a litlte review for my fellow BassResource members
  19. That is what I got my BPS Pro Qualifier for. It was only $50 during the BPS Spring Classic. I probably wont use it a whole lot, but its a reel I have confidence in if I need to put it into action
  20. Thats cool. I did something similar last year. I Texas Rigged baits and stuck a skirt around the line tie. Didnt use it much, but it looked good. I called it the Texas jig. get it? Like a texas rig...
  21. I had quite a bit of luck pitching a Rage Tail Menace last spring. I am looking forward to trying a structure bug this year. Just stocked up on beavers to do a lot of pitching too. And yeah, the Pit Boss is a good one too.
  22. Someone was on here a month or two ago raving about a cheaply priced reel from China. Said it was as nice if not better than quite a few nice reels. Dont remember who it was or what reels he was comparing it too. There was some intresting discussion between him and some of the others... I think a lot of people will agree that in most cases with fishing reels you get what you pay for.
  23. I like the H20 rod I have. Got it on clearance when the new rods were coming in. I havent used it a whole lot, but when I have its gotten the job done. I prefer it to the Abu Vendettas I have.
