  1. 2 to the chest...1 to the head
  2. "if you worry about what might be and wonder about what might have been you will ignore what is" I was at the right place, at the right time, doing the right things!
  3. @N Florida MikeThe first time I spent a week in Florida was in Inverness. This was in the early 90s, stopped at a local gas station & bought a map. This is what I saw 😉
  4. @Swamp Girl I would fish a Bog I don't care if its a 10" from the bayou across the street or a 10# on Toledo Bend...that tug is my drug & as a good Basshead I will get my fix!
  5. Ice goes your tea, not on the ground!
  6. If I have to walk a bank, wade a creek, push pole a perouge, run a Jon boat back in a marsh, or a 20' BassCat on Toledo Bend. If I have to drag a lure behind the boat, throw a Crappie jig at bass on a screen, stroke a Jig-n-Craw in 30', punch through matted vegetation. I'm gonna catch bass by whatever means necessary.
  7. K.I.S.S 😉 I still walk the bank with one rod-n-reel I still stalk deer with a recurve bow I still shoot a .410 & .22 Up close & personal
  8. I troll using my outboard, my Tohatsu 40 hp has variable idling speed control from 650 to 950 rpm’s. Lures: 10-25' range Bill Norman or 6 th Sense Reel: Abu Gracia Ambassadeur 5500C Rods: 7'6" - 8'
  9. Y'all ever heard of spoonplugging? Buck taught a lot more than what structure is & how fish relate to it. He taught how to fish it effectively with depth control, speed control, & other factors. I'm maybe the only one here that still believes those things are still applicable to every technique. Crankbaits are a subject rarely addressed here in spite of how effective they are.
  10. I grew up fishing offshore, I have drug a lure or two behind a boat. I use another outlawed technique I learned offshore, the Alabama Rig. It was just a little bigger. Do not under any circumstance troll an Alabama Rig behind your boat!
  11. I'll take 80s songs for $500 😉 That's one of those game time decisions. Body of water, time of year, current lake conditions, current weather patterns, moon phase, water temperatures, ect. I can be a 0 at sunrise & a 10 by sunset!
  12. A jig imitates a crawfish correct? Yes I believes they do A crawfish has a hard shell does it not? Yes they in fact have a hard shell When the bass "crushes" the jig to kill it; it feels the hardness of a shell, the softness of the skirt, & the firmness of the trailer just like a crawfish. A jig can also imatate baitfish
  13. Please explain why Merthiolate, Pink, Chartreuse, Lime, & other unnatural colors work will in clear water? I've found Ditch Weed to be highly productive in both clear & off colored water.
  14. @the reel ess @Jig Man @MediumMouthBass That's way I keep both tied on 24/7/365 They gonna eat one of em 😉
  15. Not sure what you're asking?
  16. Some where back in the 60s my dad rented a wooden boat that had slats nailed across the ribs for a floor. I noticed what turned out to be a Scoundrel worm (black with two yellow stripes). Dad rigged it weedless for me & I cast it out & let it sit while eating a sandwich. I noticed a whole row of pencil reeds laying over in a stright line & thought what the hell. Dad screamed set hook, I did & caught a nice 2# chunk. 60+ yrs later still chunking worms & chasing largemouth!
  17. Most anglers try forcing a jig through grass which is all wrong, you gotta finesse the jig through grass! When you feel the jig starting to load up in the grass...stop. Release pressure, pull up until you feel heaviness again but apply slightly more pressure, then release, continue until the jig breaks free. You want the motion to be similar to & as fast as working a shaky head, you're just applying more pressure. Same applies to "wood" 😉
  18. @Glenn Feeling frustrated by all that 🤔
  19. Y'all definitely don’t wanna fish with me! I'll spend a whole week on Toledo Bend or Rayburn with one jig.
  20. Never have been a cold weather guy! Had to work in for years, now I don't have to.
  21. Jig head & Minnow Got a real aversion to throwing exposed hooks
