Chemically Sharpened Hooks - Can’t Resharpen ?
If it ain't on a jig or spinnerbait it goes in the trash. If it requires the removal of to much metal, I trash it. Spyderco ceramic file 😉

- Gear ratio for pitchin
For 30+ years I used a Shimano Calcutta with a 5.8:1 gear ratio. Never had a bass overpower me. Now it's Lew's Tournament/Team Lite, 7.5:1.- What Fishing Gimmick Did You Fall For?
Add one more your list, it coils way worse then any monofilament or copolymore. Tried really hard to like it but in the end it's a no go. Still very popular down here on the saltwater seen, along with Tru Turn.- Dobyns vs Kistler sensitivity

With an abundance of forage it is possible for a tiny percentage to reach DD status. With proper genetics & a normal forage base a higher percentage of bass will reach DD status. The bass in Mexico are Florida strain, why? The bass in California are Florida strain, why? The bass in Texas are from Florida, California, & Cuba, why? Genetics If it was as simple as feeding them then why don't we see "native" bass reaching these sizes?- Yeah, the bass might be biting, but still RUN!!!
@A-Jay Y'all trained in conditions i tried to avoid! 👍- Yeah, the bass might be biting, but still RUN!!!
Which one? I sure @A-Jay or anyone who has been 100+ miles out in the Gulf or Atlantic or Pacific understand its a totally different ball game. Often times you simply can not out run the weather, so you batten down the hatches & ride it out.- Yeah, the bass might be biting, but still RUN!!!
@Swamp Girl Ya ever seen the movie "The Perfect Storm"? 135 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico during a storm that made a 70' boat look tiny. Still will not watch that movie today!- Yeah, the bass might be biting, but still RUN!!!
In my teenage years I worked as a deck hand & First Mate on charter fishing boats in the Gulf of Mexico. Even on bright sunny days this was how we maneuvered from location to location. Fog! Night fishing on Toledo Bend near Turtle Beach on the Louisiana side, a dense fog rolled in about midnight, somewhere around 3 we decided to head back to our camp on the Texas side. There was a huge sign on a tree in the mouth of Negreet Creek that advertised Turtle Beach Lodge. I idled over to the sign, pointed the bow towards what I believed was due west & the Texas side. 30 minutes later & directly in front of us was the Turtle Beach sign! Again I pointed the bow westward & again 30 minutes later the was the Turtle Beach sign. Sleep in the boat until daylight tied to the Turtle Beach sign!- Weedy and shallow Lake Baits
@N Florida Mike Speed Worm - Mr Twister Buzz Worm Fluke - Mpack Shad Baby Brush Hog - 6th Sense Hogwalla Different profiles 😉- Records That Stay
I totally agree with the "new lake effect" but what needs to be understood is that this happens numerous times throughout the life of the body of water. Example 2007 Toledo Bend's lake level was lowered 15' to allow work on the dam. All of the exposed lake bottom had a resurgence of vegetation. When the lake level came back up it brought with it the new lake effect.- Records That Stay
When was Toledo Bend impounded? October 3, 1966 Toledo Bend lake record is 15.67 lbs, set by Bill Cook of Houston, Texas on February 11, 2023 Texas ShareLunker's genetic research has proven that regardless of food source if the proper genes are not present in the bass, it will never obtain record status.- Yeah, the bass might be biting, but still RUN!!!
Tornadoes occur during sever weather, they knew that but went out anyway. Can't fix stupid 😉- Weedy and shallow Lake Baits
@N Florida Mike An explanation of just how much "weedy" ya talking might be helpful.- Dobyns vs Kistler sensitivity
That perfectly fits the Lite Medium Heavy, I would add it handles weightless plastics like a Wacky Rigged Trick Worm. The 7' 3" Medium Heavy if better suited for 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 oz with biggest plastics. It's also a great jig rod It comes down to personal preference- Anyone have or hear anything about the new Lews casting rods? (Also a sad day for the TP1 Black/TP1X)
I have 2 ea TP1B70MH Worm Rods & 1 ea TP1B74H Pitching Rod The 7' MH are excellent worm/jig rods for weights 1/8-1/2 oz. The 7'4" H is excellent frog rod, flipping-n-pitching rod, & Medium punch rod up to 1 oz. Pretty agree with @Brian11719 accessment- Whad ju git?
Reservations for 5 days on the Big Pond, dates to be determined.- Dobyns vs Kistler sensitivity

Buzz Worms comes in 8" & 12", I've had better luck with the 8" in green pumpkin blue tail. I would also suggest Yamamoto's 10” Ichi Worm, it's made from Yamamoto’s Mega Floater Formula, which makes the tail stand up off the bottom. It's heavy enough to good distance unweighted. - Gear ratio for pitchin
