Went to Christmas Saturday at a daughters house and my grandkids got me two gift cards and a Mystery fishing Box. The box had a Googan Spinnerbait, a Blade bait, and EWG Hooks! Wish I knew how to rotate pictures. I'm online today finishing the fun!

I did such a great job with my kids!image.jpeg.58540b6458e83655b8a1612267e7ff6c.jpeg

Because here at BR, we are always celebrating. Looking forward to seeing what you get, assuming you get anything. The reports I've been hearing 'bout you mountain boys ain't been good! 😁

Santa ended up getting me three new bait casting combo's. The BR crew overwhelmingly recommended the Daiwa Aird so Santa paid attention. I love them and now I'm explaining to the bill payer, why the credit card blew up! Also got tons of new swim baits.....Zman, Crush City mayor, and Damiki.

@Blue Raider Bob:  Just a sort-of-related story here.  My Christmas Angel (AKA wife) and I stopped buying each other presents a couple of years ago; seemed like all we did was swap gift cards.  Decided instead to pool our funds and contribute to a few local charities instead.

Anyway, my good deed was rewarded.  Wandered into the local Dick’s yesterday and stepped into a slightly belated Christmas miracle!  There on the rack were an AIRX701MFB and AIRX701MHFB.  Here in Pittsfield one normally doesn’t find a lot of options - mostly I order online, pay and pray. In fact, this is the first time in all the years I’ve shopped there that I’ve seen the brand in the store.

What makes this interesting is that for the past two summers I’ve had two reels with no homes.  The first is my old Lew’s Tournament MB that had been relegated to the shelf when it’s companion rod fell victim to a low ceiling and the other is an Okuma Helios SX which cost a bundle but which I could never dial in on the supposed M from a not-to-be-named company.  Played around in the yard yesterday: with a little tweaking the Okuma worked like a dream on the medium rod and, as expected, the MB performed well on the medium heavy rod.  As in your case, the BR crew had piqued my interest in AIRD and when I had to grab two rods for $110.00 it gave me the opportunity to experiment with the Okuma without going through the hassle of guessing what rod(s) to order blind.

You can tell from the length of this that it’s winter in MA and my fishing withdrawal has really kicked in, but the whole thing is pretty cool to me.

Blew my power head in November so new Mercury Fourstroke time

Geeze, I was really torn between the sad face for the reason and the “like” button for the sweet new pusher.

I got a fishing hoodie (it says Under Armour on it, but I know I’ll wear it fishing. 😝).   And that’s OK, because anyone buying me fishing stuff would have to guess what I want.  I got my son a selection of different frogs, because that’s his favourite way to fish… and he’s a hammer at it. 😎

New Dual Pro on board charger.  I even started trying to install it the other day but had a mishap.  I shut the truck door on my own left thumb.

Charger install is going to have to wait.

1) TW Gift Card

2) Soft sided cooler I plan to take on weekend tourneys when I fish as a nonboater and don't want to take my big cooler.

3)  Battery-operated water compressor/cleaner that I'll use to wash my boat and truck

I totally get that! Our water stays soft down here but the cold tends to keep me at home. Couldn't stand it yesterday so I went. Only stayed an hour because my hands froze but have to feed the addiction.

OUCH! Sounds painful....actually, I was in a rush at work a few years back and got something out of the truck and did the same thing. Not sure how I did it either ... The pain was real :)

At least its not broke.  It was just the tip but it was stuck far enough where I couldn't pull it out without opening the door.  Of course I was in the garage by myself so I had to reach around with my right hand to pull the handle a few seconds later while my thumb is still in there.  First night was awful.  Constantly waking up with it throbbing even on pain reliever.

Its getting better each day.  But I'm definitely gonna lose that nail.

A-Jay, I'm counting twelve new Bantam casting reels! Don't know which bank you robbed, but I hope it wasn't the one my moneys in! Can I assume that the twelve reels also got matching rods? Well done!

Got some new sticks but mostly replaced reels on rods I have.  Selling those replaced reels here shortly.

Curse words!!!! I did that once and the door latched shut and locked. There was a brief panic. Don’t recall if it was thumb or finger but it went flat, I have a photo somewhere

Please PM me or give a reaction to my post prior to posting that...If for anything, it will give me a heads up not to peek back into in this thread :)

Yes, please spare us the photo of a flattened finger or thumb.  The description is enough.

My wife got me the fancy Bubba scale which I got to put to good use last Saturday. The thing settles so much better than my cheap Amazon scale (which never really settled) and is so easy to read (unlike my Rapala High Contrast scale which in my opinion is very poorly named). Hopefully the new scale lasts forever.
