  1. @A5BLASTER The big pond can be the #1 lake in America one week & a total bust the next week. One thing I'm looking forward to is the use of LiveScope.

  7. I don't care if its @WRB, @A-Jay, @Dwight Hottle, @roadwarrior, @Glenn or who ever they're gonna tell you. Ya gonna learn the most with a rod in your hand.
  8. It's still gonna come down to time on the water.
  9. Must be a Yankee thing, cause I got no clue what @A-Jay is asking!
  10. Casting, flipping, & pitching in the yard is fine but try adding obstacles. At 73 i still practice often, this is between my yard & my neighbor's. I work on not only hitting the gaps but putting my lure beyond the brush.
  11. Stanley Vibra Wedge, 1/2 oz, double gold Willowleaf, white skirt.
  12. This was the setup I used when fishing my first tournament. Don't plan on going back!
  13. I hate being cold & the older I get the more I hate it.
  14. Do your home work Learn what structure is, how to truly identify it, interpret it, and then fish it effectively. Use every means available, paper maps & electronics. I spent hours walking the banks of the bodies of water I fish. What you see above the waterline, is usually what's under it. Understand what the predominate prey species in your lake and how that species relates to structure with each season...morning, noon, and night. Spend time on the water from pre-spawn to pre-spawn.
  15. Don't underestimate the difference in rate of fall that 1/16 oz will make. I prefer 7/16 or 5/8 over 1/2.
  16. Santone Lures Rayburn Siwash Swim Jig & Chris McCall Rayburn Swim Jig both come in 7/16.
  17. I can report the pecan trees here a blooming which means winter is over. Should be moving north soon.

I watch a video where Chris Zaldain interviewed Randy. He admitted the majority of his videos were click bait. I don't remember the number but it was insane the number of videos he does monthly on social media.
  19. My grandfather was a carpenter, my dad & his 4 brothers were carpenters. They built entire houses with a folding ruler, a framing square, a hand saw, & a wooden handled hammer. At 12 years old I was framing houses, doing trim, & building cabinets. At 14 years old I was running crews. At 21 years old I was the youngest general foreman working for Brown & Root. I'm also an ASE certified automotive mechanic, licensed A&P (Airframe & Power Plant) mechanic, Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE). Now I'm Chief Cook & Bottle Washer!
