probably a little more than half of the hooks i use are barbless.... honestly, i dont notice much if any difference in the ratio of "hooked up" to lost fish between the two.... in my opinion, barbs are overrated.. it takes more pressure to set the hook, and like i said....they dont get off any easier without the barbs in my opinion...... barbs are a relic of holding bait on the hook that just hasn't gone away...

ahhh, great catch.... i havent hooked a snook in a while, just trout, red, lady's and jack..... the last snook i caught was when i lived at my parents house in jensen beach....about 9 years ago :'( ...miss it to say the least

if choosing between the two..... i say stradic........ if your not hell bent on one of the two..... i say stick with your saros...only larger..i own the saros 3000, and its great...(though i have had a slight recent problem, its seriously minor in nature, and i show mine tons of abuse....the performance is still second to none!!)

obviously, i don't plan on "dunking" any reel in the salt.... but the reality is.....sh%t happens..... and i frequently wade fish....and while it may not be "dunked", it will get its fair share of abuse... the reality of the matter is that one is more equipped than the other.... i simply want the input of those who have actually used one or know others who have (thanx sirsnookalot and CharlieBrown!!)....not that i dont value the input of all....its just opinions of those who don't have experience with this reel is not what im seeking here, hence my original post...

no prob my man...... thats why this site is so great.... cause trust me, others in here know alot more than i probably ever will!! ....i want all their knowledge as well
