  1. PM sent. I'm sure I'll hear tomorrow.
  2. Thanks. I'll wait until Friday to PM him. I saw the 10-12 days and I'm in no hurry but I'm surprised the PayPal didn't process. Maybe he doesn't process until the jigs are mailed.
  3. I placed an order with Siebert Jigs 7/4 to take advantage of the 15% discount. Never got a confirmation on the order from them or PayPal. Sent Siebert 2 emails to find out the status with no reply. Has anyone else run into problems here?
  4. I tried Sunline Super Sniper 8# on mine and had nothing but trouble. No problem on baitcasters though. I went back to braid with fluorocarbon leader on one and copolymer AN40 on another with no problems.
  5. St Croix Avid 7' med fast with a Lews tournament lite speed spool 7.1:1 which you can get for around $139 online. I use this for 5" Senko wacky rigs.
  6. Just bought my second Lews tournament lite speed spool for $139 on line. Free shipping and no tax. This reel is light and casts a mile with 10# invizix.
  7. If you wacky rig them I recommend you use an O Ring. They will last a lot longer. Every once in awhile I don't use it and don't see any difference in the frequency or quality of hook ups. They just tear easier. You can get them and a tool to put them on at TW. When hooking up a fish on a wacky rig, try to do a side sweep without a hard jerk and you'll usually hook them in the side of the mouth. I use an Owner 1/0 Wacky Hook with no weed guard since my ponds are pretty much clear. Sometimes I put a 1/8 oz weight on when TX Rigging not wacky so I get a little faster drop. I agree with an earlier post that the rod might be more important than the reel here.
  8. I just saw the Bass Resource video on TX Rigging a tube and bought some Lazer tube hooks. I fish from the bank and plan to use these in clear water about 2-5' deep. Question, what size weight and tube color works for you? I'm thinking of buying some 3.5" coffee tubes. These would be for LMB not smallies.
  9. You might try a Baby Brush Hog TX rigged as a change from a worm. On the shaky head you might try a Hag's Tornado. When rigged on a Texas rig or a Shaky Head the worm will stand completely vertical.
  10. St Croix Avid 7' MH Fast with a Tatula 7.3 and Invizix 12#...TX rigged
  11. Hags Tornado tail stands straight up
  12. I have had nothing but trouble with Flouro on spinning reels so I use a copolymer Silver Thread AN40 and sometime a braid to Flouro leader. I do use Seagur Invizix Flouro on some of my baitcasters with no problem. If it sits for awhile and gets kinked I squirt some KVD line conditioner on it the night before and it's like new.
  13. This ^^^ also, it is a great TX rig Rod.
  14. I like braid on a spinning reel but also use a copolymer Silver Thread AN40 with no line twists. I've had no luck with fluoro because I always seem to get line twists with it.
  15. Black red Rattlin Chug Bug
  16. If i need some weight I use a 1/16 tungsten bullet weight and then TX rig a 7" Berkeley power worm or a baby brush hog on a similar set up.
  17. TW has the best selection. Don't have to compromise because the color, weight, etc. might not be available.
  18. I never did but after a post earlier in the year here, the responses convinced me to try bank dropshotting and it is my go to if they are not biting on anything else. I use a roboworm and a VMC drop shot swivel hook. I tie it to a 6# fluoro leader tied to 10# power pro about 18" above the weight. Of course, you need 2 pieces of the fluoro. One from the braid to the hook and one from the hook to the weight. I have a 6'9" carbon lite ML fast rod with a Shimano Sahara. Cast it and stop it, give it a little shake, drag it a few more inches, shake it slightly, repeat...
  19. Thanks for the input. I found a Lews online for sale and it's 7.5:1 which I think should be good for plastics.
  20. Looking for a new baitcaster to throw plastics, mostly 1/8 or 1/4 TRigged plastics, like senkos, baby brush hogs, some 4" flukes, and lite jigs. mostly using 10# fluoro on a 7' mh fast rod. I'm considering these 2 reels, possibly getting the Lews on sale at a Memorial Day sale so budget is $200 or less. I'd welcome any opinions or any other reels to consider.
  21. Spinning gear is a must for me on windy days from the bank. This helps me avoid backlashes. Try to cast with the wind. Casting with the wind doesn't limit me and I can throw senkos, light crankbaits, baby brush hogs, etc. If I have to cast into the wind or if the wind is coming in from the east and I'm throwing south light line on my spinning reels doesn't get tossed around as much as 12# on my baitcasters. If the wind creates a big bow in my line on a cast, I start reeling as soon as it hits the water to take out the slack.
  22. The H2O Mettle is a good reel. You can usually find them really cheap on EBay.
  23. I use Silver Thread AN40 and it has been very good to me. Don't have a comparison to other lines because once I try something I like to stick to it. It's very limp, thin and strong.
  24. Do you use bullet or ball weight? I use tungsten on TX Rigs but is it necessary for a drop shot weight? What's your favorite brand?
