  1. Just like Bassthumb said, start with short and easy casts and move and progress from there. I always compare it to basketball. Start with layups until you feel more comfortable moving further out. Trust me, we have all been in your shoes it will get better.
  2. Keep hearing about Fenwick... But no one around here sells them. Best rod for the money...They are comparable to my Dobyns champions. Cabelas carries them..
  3. Fish Chris, That truck is sick!
  4. Ranger z522 with a 225 Merc OptiMax :
  5. Lets just say I throw Flickers when I don't care about the pike biting them off..
  6. o American Shad o Aurora Black o Ghost Minnow o Bluegill o Chartreuse shad o Ms female bluegill o Ms shell white
  7. I've used Gander Mountains shaky head for years now, and I absolutely love them...never found a reason to switch
  8. x2...Are you using an underpowered rod?
  9. Besides the usual colors...okachobee craw and watermelon candy are my favorites
  10. Have you tried the flashy black color? Looks interesting
  11. Umm..can you guide me to this deal?
  12. Have always switched my baits to wither owner stingers or Kvd triple grips...trust me it is worth it. Back when I didn't want to spend the extra money I would lose waaayy too many fish. The instant I changed my trebles, is when I started realizing how important it is.
  13. Looks like you took the bait! Once you get married she will be like, what boat? She said I have to do the same with her purses....It all makes sense now
  14. Nm...they are floaters :-/
  15. Anyone try these out? What do you think? Also below is a link to the colors available at the cabelas sale. Anyone have any luck? http://www.cabelas.com/product/Yo-Zuri-Crystal-Minnow/1185152.uts?destination=%2Fbrowse.cmd%3FcategoryId%3D107688780%26WTz_l%3DSBC%253Bcat105591780%253Bcat105740280&WTz_l=SBC%3Bcat105591780%3Bcat105740280%3Bcat107688780
  16. I know what you mean...When I tell my fiance how much I want a ranger, she replies "you know when we get married I'll be helping you pay for your boat, just as long as I can read while you fish" All my fishing buddies ask if she has a sister haha
  17. All the hardcores are sold out besides the shallow runners :-/ Just placed my order...only $50 for 16 yo-zuri lures!!
  18. Nothing will ever replace a senko...there will be times when that is all they want, but the ring frys definitely have a time and place of their own ;D
  19. My favorite is a NorthStar custom baits 1/4 hair jig in okachobee craw. NorthStar also offers an awesome trailer for the hair jig..they go together like pb & j. As far as your equipment...I like a 7' mh f casting, but spinning tackle with this technique is also a great way to go. I am dying to get my hands on a 2500 stradic ci4! You will love that reel. Line choice depends on what type of water you are fishing. I like to go with either a 12 or 15 lb invisix line, depending on whether I'm fishing docks or not
  20. Maybe its just my own bad luck, but I have a higher number of fish spit a Norman than any other
  21. x2. One of the best all around baits, right up there with the trick worm. I personally have seen the most production from the baby ring fry, wacky rigged, in finesse fishing situations.
  22. x2. I only use a few tubes, the SK coffee tube and Poor Boy's tubes. Below is my favorite tube EVER!! SK coffe tube in Magic Goby
  23. I don't own many 14's, but DD22's are my favorite deep diving crank by far. This is one of those lures that I started using right away when I got into bass fishing, and never found a reason to switch. My absolute favorite color I cannot reveal , but below are my other favorites: Natural Shad Nutter Shad Mountain Doo Black/blue and the list goes on and on... BTW one other thing...change out the hooks right away before throwing any Norman
  24. I almost always change my trebles to stingers or triple grips. My only exception is LC's
