the funny thing is i seen the case going in and decided if the case was still there on the waY out i was going to stop and get it. was the most exciting thing i caught all day. While you wait to take it to a store leave it on in case someone calls. Then just answer and explain the situation.

Opie and the Couger
I decided to check out an episode of Andy Griffith the other night. Opie and his buddy find a baby on the jailhouse steps and decide to find a mother for it. Opie goes door to door and ends up at Helen Crump's house. He asks Helen " do you want to have a baby? ". Helen gets all panicky and squirmish and escorts Opie out. I couldn't help but think man this scenario has changed a lot over the years! lol

Hats off to Fish-fighting-illini
Hey this thread is a pleasant surprise. Despite the conditions I had a blast. The fish are not huge there yet but it is a once in a lifetime kind of a place and will do nothing but get better. We need to get my dad on the water there next year he'd love it. Heck no need to thank me you brought the boat or no outing! It has been a good start to a friendship that happened as a result of BassResource.com We do need to fish more often next year as we didn't pull off as many outings as we planned this year. Hey Jeff I wonder if bwell's pond would happen to be Barb's Pond? That would be quite a coincidence ( he fishes Champaign often bwell).

Help a fellow boater out will ya....
Once you decided you had a problem then you should have done the wave your hands for help. If you did that and no one offered to help then you've got a beef. If you just tried to yell who knows if the other boat could even here you (?)

Forum policies and enforcement
" even though the person posting may not be aware they're sounding.... " I've said it before and I'll say it again keep in mind that print leaves a lot to be desired on what someone may mean or how they come acrossed vs a live conversation. We should all keep that in mind before we react ( easier said than done sometimes )

MLB oddity?
I'm talking about 4 little towns in this case with a combined maybe 55K amount of bodies? and 15 min's on either side of me. I just thought it odd for such a very small area or even in a big area for people really close by someone. Not a big deal just curiousity is all.

Problem with baitcaster breaking line
After checking the guides then I would suspect the bad spool of line theory. You might want to re-think the going from 30-50lb test though. This could have an effect on your catch rate. If you are fishing open water even more so if heavy cover not as big of a deal. You can always use a mono leader ahead of the braid. I fish 14,17& 20lb braid and never break off. In fact I have a hard time getting it to break when snagged! I'm using a different brand of braid and change my line seldomly. If you go with 50lb make sure you keep a stick or something handy to wrap your line around to break the line if necessary. Line can tear up your hands and never ever use your rod to break line!!!!!! just my 2#'s worth

MLB oddity?
I'm sure if everyone looked close enough we'd all have similar stories... Within 15 min's either straight west or straight east of me there are 4 current or former major league players including one probable and another longer shot at the hall of fame. Joe Girardi came from the next town over East Peoria IL. His uncle ( Ron Girardi ) lives across the street from me. So I've heard anyway as I've never bothered him about it, just treat him like a normal neighbor. Jim Thome came from the next town over ( Bartonville, IL ) and played JC ball in Girardi's hometown. Ben Zobrist came from Eureka IL and plays a fair amount for Tampa Bay ( I think it is ) Brian Shouse still lives in our town ( Washington IL ) and plays for Tampa as well I think. He's not a household name but he's been in the majors for a while now. I just thought it odd to have that many MLB playes / coaches who are from a fairly lightly populated area of the country. Come to think of it this doesn't even include the largest towns in our area.

Umpires making it right....
Speaking as a 25yr umpire ( no majors some college ) the tag play from 3rd is a tough cal to get position on. The call at second though.... about 80% of the time if the throw is good and beats the runner he is out. If a lazy or sloppy tag then??? but combined with a good solid snap tag the runner is probably out 98% of the time. To have both those and still screw up the play is not good for the resume.

Freakinonimcs?
Anyone ever read this book? I don't think we ought to debate the contents just wondered what you thought of it in a general sense. Stupid? Interesting? Way out there? Seems legit?

Bye bye Ron Zook?
LOL! that was funny. Good thing I wasn't drinking anything at thee moment. Come to think of it that might describe my fishing skills on occasion! ouch!
-
Bye bye Ron Zook?
If not now it has to be getting close. Man the Illini are horrible! Not sure what happened with that fluke Rose-bowl appearance but he's done nothing since.

UT vs OU
I didn't get to watch it all but it seemed like a good game and it was fun to watch.

CNN live, now, 6 year old in balloon
Why I happened to watch I have no idea but I saw the whole episode of this family on wifeswap or as much as I could stand of it one of the 2. This is one seriously whacked out family. You wouldn't believe it. The guy is a bonafide nut or a great actor one of the 2. You can bet there is a wifeswap re-run coming up shortly.

Been away for a while

2 words HOLY CRAP
x2 My thoughts exactly Wayne. Actualy catching fish is an even better therapy! The struggling daughter due to all the recent stres looked at my wife the other day and said " Now I probably know why dad fishes." Pretty much a universal thought.

2 words HOLY CRAP
Well between the lack of a tow vehicle at the moment and the very sick ( again ) and now unemployed daughter I thought I was done for the year. A good friend from this site ( Farmpond1 aka Jeff ) stepped up to the plate and will be bringing his boat. We will be going to this same lake again. He has been like a kid in a candy store ( baitshop in this case ) ever since we planned it. If the weather can improve a little we should be set. With this lake I would imagine that you can catch them in the middle of winter but we'll see. Wish us luck.
