  1. Skins/ Bucs = ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ It is a shame for any storied franchise to sink so low. Skins -Theisman, Jacoby, Williams, Monk on and on. Same for KC, Oakland and others. I guess it is all a cycle but some have been down for an awful long time. Hope your season gets better but not at any Bears expense.
  2. My family deeply appreciates you support, kindness, advice offers and links etc. There is now a pregnancy involved which might have re-triggered the orginal illness. Prior to the pregnancy she had been healthy for almost a full year. Unemployment will be the best fit with the least hassle but is probably a long shot. If that doesn't work out then we will possibly attempt to move forward with SSI. ( readers digest version ). Thanks again FFI - AKA Matt Crum and family
  3. Does anyone have any real experience on going through or knowing someone go through the process of being declared disabled? Preferably temporarily disability. My mother went through the process and I know even though it was a no-brainer situation it was a huge hassle. I know a doctor must start the process. I know from my mothers case that SSI plays dumb until a lawyer is involved. Yes I know about work and employee short term dis, and long term dis. In this case we are talking about a fresh out of college student w only a short 2 or 3 month of full time employment. She had not been there long enough to have coverage. She was terminated yesterday due missing so much work. This was even though they knew right where she was as she was hospitalized on the floor that she worked. She did work part time ( one or more jobs at a time for probably 7-8 years.\ prior) Luckily we do have the medical insurance covered but that doesn't pay her other basic needs / bills etc. A little early yet but after just shy of 4yrs of illness it is time to start checking into it. I can understand maybe not wanting to post so e-mail or pm is fine. Thanks in advance FFI - AKA Matt Crum
  4. So how do they explain the bottle that they brought in with them? In some cases we might re-think judging a book by its cover in these economic times. I might be inclined to offer to buy the new one for them if really in that big of a need. Not that I have it to spare but everyone has their diginity limit I would think. FFi - AKA Matt Crum
  5. I would never have thought of this one but I shouldn't be surprised by it. While buying wax worms for our outing at Walmart my co-worker told me the cashier said "did you check them?". He replied "no why should I need to?". She replied that people have been bringing in Ziploc baggies and emptying the worms into them and stealing them. Man I would have never thought of this one. In this economy anything cold happen. If they are down and out it's one thing but if just being a loser it's just plain stupid. Geeez stuping to a new low every day.
  6. Forget the associates and go for a BA. An associates won't hurt you but it also won't help you much. Life & often your salary is about effort; with an attitude like " it seems like the easiest" your pay will be proportionate. I don't mean to be harsh, just telling it like it is. FFI
  7. I was a teenager around the time of a lot of these. Mustangs, Superbees, Chargers, Challengers, Olds 442's, 454 Chevelles, 327 Camaros, Dusters, Cuda's you name it. What a time to be a teenager. I rode in a bunch of them during my "2nd" lunch ea day when I was supposed to have been in class. I wasn't a gearhead but I got along with a wide variety of people including the gearheads. Another guy and i "finagled" ourselves into a second lunch period ea day. The teacher didn't know about it of course and we never got caught so all was well. Re-live my childhood for me Robert go for it. You might consider a "show" set of tires and a set for "fun" as being a wise investment. Good Luck
  8. One of our daughters will be having our first grandchild in late Feb. It is not one of those fairy tail scenarios but we will make it work. Our daughter had been healthy for a year ( the first in nearly 4 years); unfortunately the pregnancy has returned her illness and with a major vengeance. She has been hospitalized for now the 4th time since mid July. Each seems to be 1 week thus 4 weeks since mid July. This creates a nearly certain near future chain of events that will be very trying. We will figure it out some way some how. wish us luck FFI - AKA Matt Crum
  9. no that old S10 had seen its days. I needed to get rid of it while I could still get anything for it at all. It was a poc from day one and had become an even bigger poc. After the outing I'm going to do something. Coughing up the $300 is tough to swallow though.
  10. Good point Paul I was wondering this same thing. I wondered with being so new would it lighten up as they get more familiar. The bad part is I sold my tow vehicle just prior to this so a co-worker went with and towed with his truck. I haven't gotten around to putting a hitch on another vehicle yet. I hope I do before season end but putting one on either of my vehicles sounds like a challenge as they are both cars.
  11. nope not Larose What's up there private ponds or something? Or the farmer you referred to?
  12. you aint a kiddin I should be living at this place. I'm liable to wear out a vehicle getting there and back I can't wait for those bass to grow up
  13. I was recently tipped off to a new place. All I can say is that it lived up to its billing. We caught approx 75 bass from 9am till about 2pm. My first 3 casts caught fish. We caught them on anything and everything. Most were in the 1.5 - 3lb range. It is something like 5,000 acres. This place just recently opened to fishing and is going to get better and better. It is trolling motor only and no gas motor can even be on the boat. The large-mouth are catch and release only. The group in front of us counted 217 bass. We also caught about 15 edible & very nicely sized Bluegill. We also caught a couple of 1# crappie. It was the outing of a lifetime.
  14. Just by being at an Oakland game puts you in one of the most dangerous places in the world!
  15. [quote Nope born and raised on the South Side, GO SOX!!!!
  16. Football NFL Packers vs Bears KC vs Oakland these 2 teams always hate ea other College - OSU and USC MI and somebody prob ND ND and a couple but fading with being so bad Baseball - Cubs vs Cardinals Yanks vs Bosox ( not close enough to know first hand but I suspect the best rivalry anywhere of any sport anything I disagree on the Cubs vs W Sox. Most Cub fans could care less about the W Sox and their 3,000 statewide fans Coll B Ball - ILL vs IA they just don't like ea other. Recruiting scandels, tampering, whistleblowing
  17. You've got it way off Leo Pennant race = Cubs = yes World series = anyone but the Cubs Then again coming from a guy who has sold out his own state? ;D
  18. We went to as Cubs fans to see the Brewers vs the Cubs. After the game we were in the gift shop. I saw a young guy with a t-shirt in obvious Cub colors. The shirt read..... " We prefer pennant races to sausage races" You have to admit, that is a classic.
  19. and beat the Seahawks no less. I wonder what that player that got in so much trouble with Singletary is thinking now?
  20. I'm glad they did something right or that could have been a long winter. I was contemplating taking up ice fishing no less!
  21. 50 Automation support in the tech division of an industrial electrical wholesaler.
  22. uh you might want to re-word this part! lol Glad all is well. How did the Chantix trial ever turn out? FFi - AKA Matt Crum
  23. Youch we lost 2 starting linebackers in the first game of the season. One will be back but not Urlacher. Did anyone else happen to notice that the Packers moved at will right after Urlacher went down? It seemed like everyplay was right up the middle. There might have been some missed stuff but if it weren't for that gift interference call on the Packers it could have been ugly. We'll see what happens. P.S> Hats off to the Packers I thought they were in control the whole game. Forte did nothing, the receiver / Cutler fiasco you just outplayed us despite a close score.
  24. You are right on Rhino. I can't believe how many people litter like that. One of the lakes I fish at they will sit at a picnic table then just leave their soda cans, worm containers etc. Lets face reality though guys the fishing crowd does not always attract the pillars of our society.
  25. I wasn't sure but it looked like the one above mine only had an answer not a new one (?) So I started a new one. It could be I had absolutly no clue on his and didn't see the quote to reply to! lol sorry if that was the case ffi - aka Matt Crum
