Finally (senior drivers)...
[quote author=53686A584B6E60606E69070 link=1245243094/14#14 date=1245307962. I suppose you could blame someone dawdling along impeding the progress of those behind, but the fault lies with those who wait 'til the last minute to leave home, allowing just enough time, under ideal conditions, to make it to work on time. Those who are routinely in a rush to get to work are poor planners, when it comes to their commute.

Idiot pedestrians A RANT
A) I don't speed in parking lots prob 5mph just like you I obey the arrows and signs C) 95% of the time I take the outer drive and don't go near the cross walks for this very problem. D) I too despise rekless drivers in lots. I probably wouldn't be going fast enough to hurt anyone. If I were to start to take off from a stop sign people ( at a brisk pace ) will just stroll right out in front of someone. I'm not sure how it wold play out but these are not city streets just parking lots so I'm not sure how the rules of the road would come into play. My real point is even though in a very slow zone I'm just surprised at how people will just come briskly walking out w/o even stoppiing to look. In some cases they never even look up. It just seems really stupid on their part. I think you'd be surprised at the small field of view in general and how little time their is to react. If you were already moving and someone came walking out without so much as hesitating I think you'd be surprised at how easy it would be to hit someone. Take a closer look the next time and see what you think.

Idiot pedestrians A RANT
Man I hate store parking lots anymore. They all have those marked crosswalks and people will walk out of a store without ever stopping or so much as looking up. I've seen them walk all the way across and never even look to the side. How do they know I hadn't started to enter the crosswalk right before they exited the building? Geeez peole are just plain stupid! A city street has a crosswalk would they just walk out into traffic w/o looking up? Thanks I feel a little better FFI - AKA Matt Crum

Finally (senior drivers)...
I know they have a right but getting seniors off the road from 6:30am to 8am and fom 3:30-6pm would be nice. This would only be if they were deemed unable to keep up with the flow of trafffic ( assuming legal speed ). Man someone doing 25mph in a 50 mph zone is an accident waiting to happen during rush hour(s)

Do you use the white pages?
% of us share a pc so by the time I could get logged on to my desktop and Outlook opened I would have already been dialing the number from the white pages.

Jury Duty tomorrow
Fourbizz they might have an out for financial hardship you might check o that. That is probably done as part of the notice deal. As far as jury duty I've been called 3 times and served once. It was also a DUI deal. In Illinois if you don't take the breathalyzer then I don't see how anyone ever gets convicted. The law is so poorly worded that the first thing all 12 said when we were handed it was "what does this mean". I thought the case was a slam dunk guilty and almost voted not guilty just so we'd take plenty of time to be fair. I voted guilty anyway and 1st vote was 10-2 for not guilty! We went till like 9pm at night. I figured if they can't write a law better than that I wasn't wasting my time with it, changed my vote and helped change the mind of the lone straggler. Biggest waste of time in my life and I got paid for it by my employer. Another one took 2 or 3 days of sitting around. I just missed sitting in but a neighbor filled me in. A lady had a car wreck and didn't go to the hospital for it ( ever ). Three days later she suddenly needs chiro work and eventually sues for pain blah blah. The trial came out that she had been seeing the chiro already and had in fact pulled this same deal before. Seems the local high priced injury law firm had hired a new lawyer. They knew the case was a loser but wanted him to have some practise at the tax payers expense. The car accident one was all word of mouth on so take it for what it's worth. Next time I'm going with a green party button. Maybe the lawyers won't want publicity for the "other" party.

Yellow jacket sting.
I watched a medical show that had a great explanation on B-stings. You are either allergic or not. The first sting just sets up the future. The second sting is where it really shows up first ( sorry for the pun ). Ea sting thereafter has the potential to be worse . DIZZYNESS AND SLURRED SPEECH ARE PROBABY NOTHING TO TAKE LIGHTLY. At your age private insurance ( with a good medical history ) can be very affordable. It is possibly more expensive if you've had a lapse. You might consider some sacrifice to afford insurance whether its a different career or whatever needs to be done. Your state might have some sort of assistance as well.

Movies that disturb you
I can handle about anything, blood, guts, scary stuff no big deal. Movies that are really twisted or twisted in a certain way though bother me. Misery with Kathy Bates and James con comes to mind Training Day with Denzel Washington ( I hate drugs ) Any movie ( even though just a movie ) that shows harm to children or otherwise helpless people. Do any bother you?

Bass Pro Shops® Tournament LTD
Be careful on this. I know most BPS reel names but not all. You two could be talking about "different" reels. Anytime LTD, limited edition, special purchase or similar names get added to an existing reel name then it could be something else. EX A "BPS Extreme" might not be the same exact reel as a " BPS Extreme LTD". To what extent they would or would not be the same is a very very long conversation! Sames theory goes for their rods. Thus a Tournament and a Tournament LTD might or might not be one in the same. Don't open up the discussion anymore than it already is; trust me as more than one thread has been locked down over this topic including one just a few days ago. FFI - AKA Matt Crum

Fingerprinted
Its a tough question but the less thy know the better its none of their business. Like someone said; they were surprised that so few thought no big deal. I'm usually the guy that would say" no big deal" but I surprised myself on this. Is that even possible to do ( surprise yourself )? FFI - AKA Matt Crum

Curt Gowdy series rod
fish-fighting-illini replied to fish-fighting-illini's topic in Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, and KnotsHey Reel Mechanic I wasn't privy to Sox broadcasts in the Midwest. I was thinking of him more from the American sportsman, The Wide World of Sports and the (NFL? broadcasts). I knew it wouldn't be any value for fishing per se ( not directly anyway ) but more of a "general" collector's item because of his overall career. It would be nice to buy it and send to ABC or to his son, Thanks for the feedback FFI - AKA Matt Crum

Curt Gowdy series rod
I was at a garage sale a few min's ago. A guy was selling tons of rod/reel combo's. Most if not all of it was really low end even when new and was now probably 30years old. For sentimental value I almost bought a Curt Gowdy signature rod to put on a shelf in my basement. does anyone think it would have any value?

Help with buying rod/reel for my husband
I'm no trout expert but as he is just getting into fishing I don't think I'd go with an ultralight right off the bat. I'd go with a light or Medium light if he is going to use it for bass as well. Sort of "split the difference" so to speak. Maybe an Abu Garcia spinning combo with a Cardianl reel? It might be in your budget range but I'm not positive. FFI - AKA Matt crum

Finally switching!!!!!
I've used Stren Super braid. I love it. The line does fade a little too soon but it is round vs ( the dental floss stuff ) and casts well. I thought that both Power Pro and Spider wire looked like floss and would split / shred easy.

Wife...and yes, it's a rant.
A lot of handy and well intentioned iinput but before you start to think the worst just nicely ask what's up. Don't worry about something before there is even a problem. If something is unfair or an issue you can always react accordingly but start out with the common sense one which is simple communication. As was obvious by the variety of posts the same thing isn't going to work for everyone. To each his & her own.

Vasectomy
The procedure is cake just a local and not painful in the slightest. Neither was recovery. I've heard it is wise to follow the directions especially with the ice and takig it easy. One of the most awkward things is supplying the after the fact " proof of insurance" if you will. lol

Girl
Life is all about class in my opinion. For the record class is way different than upity or snobery so don't confuse the 2. Class is doing the right thing. It doesn't matter who she is going out with. If she is going out with anybody then its time to back off and let things play out. If she doesn't have enough class to not go out with you while the girlfriend of someone else then I'd question whether she is even worth it in the first place. It does't matter whether your in 8th grade or college just conduct yourself with class and don't think with tthe "other brain". How would you like it if you do go out and she ends up your girlfriend then goes out with someone else on you? Remember this is one girl out of multiple thousands you will come to know. At the end of the day whether tomorrow or 20 years from now you need to be able to look in the mirror and say " I did right ", " I acted with class ". don't mean to sound abrasive just giving my opinion is all.
