I hadn't posted anything on this but the new ( now 6 month old ) grandson was born with but just recently diagnosed with an eye problem in one eye. The prognosis was that he was probably going to be blind in that eye. Then it became that he might get some sight back with an operation. The surgery was today and it went quite a bit better than the doctors thought it would. He is going to be able to see large letters and will be able to know that people and objects are coming towards him. This is probably close to the best possible outcome that could have evolved out of this given these circumstances. Thus this is some really good news all things considered. This is the son of the daughter who was sick for 4 yrs. It's about time these kids got cut a break. FFI - AKA Matt Crum

I heard Michael Vick talk once not long after entering the NFL. He was one of the most uneducated individuals I've ever head speak......... The part that gripes me is that he "graduated" from a college that way! Prob better not to reply to this as we will be off course even further. I cut my comment short to avoid it.

From what I've read the Premier's and Triumphs are overpriced. Go with the Clarus or as Speedbead said an Extreme. Or go with a Fenwick HMG or HMX You should be able to sell any of these easily.

Today while I was at my future son in law's house and he was outside grilling I put a password lock on all of his Cardinal's channels. Cards might have a better record but the cubs fans won this one.

A school district somewhere downstate in IL retired and old schoolhouse. Someone bought the building and somewhat surprisingly to a portion of the community the buyer opened a strip club in it. There was the typical moral debate plus the sacred old school angle of course. here's that the opposing team did at a basketball game between the 2 teams. "At a recent basketball game featuring a Neoga team, the opposing fans were waving dollar bills at the Neoga cheerleaders in an apparent reference to the school house". For the most part I agree with those saying low end is often junk. The blister pack reels often fit that bill. For some reason though I just get the feeling that things have changed in the last several years. Back then I would have said no way to Shakesphere but since they have hooked up with Pflueger I think they've changed. The Dimension spinning reel seems very similar to the last series of Pflueger Medalist. I also think the Abu Cardinals have come quite a ways. For only a few dollars more ( if any ) though you can buy a Pflueger President spinning reel. For a rod if you strictly want to go low price I've used the Shakesphere Excursion and it works fine. I think it is $14 @ Wallyworld. Slightly higher on the rod price scale are the Shimano Convergence & Clarus. Very good rods at a budget price. For a baitcaster on the low end you can't beat the BPS Extreme espcially the rod and reel combo. Good luck and let us know what you pickout and how it goes. FFI - AKA Matt Crum

I think I read that Andy Whitfield ( Spaartacus ) has a frorm of cancer so that kind of threw things off schedule wise. I think he is going to be alright but it will take some time. In the mean time they are supposed to go back in time with Lucy Lawless and her husband.

We have an ofice there, 1.5hrs to Cha then whatever it takes to get to Mattoon from there. I would imagine STL is just about as close and it has a Cabela's & a BPS

It is going to be in downtown East Peoria right along the river and right ( almost literally ) on I74. I heard it is going to be a big one, restaurant, 14(?) lane bowling alley and more. I'm curious if it will even have access via boat from the river? I haven't heard that but I wonder. What city are you from?

It has been confirmed, next fall I will have a BPS 10min's from my house and 2 min's from where I work. Then again this could be a bad thing.

make sure that it is a Pro Qualifier and not a PQ "Limited Edition". Either way it might be a fine reel but it might have an impact on the "price tag " vs what reel that you are actually getting. We've seen this BPS trick many times on multiple products over the years. Again no judgement passed but you just might not be getting what you "think" you are paying for.

There have been plenty of pro & con threads about all the above brands. I have read many more negative posts about Quantum than the other 2 that you mention. Not a scientific survey just what I remember.

There are several gotcha's to be aware of. 1) the sleep count is always way off. It may or may not fit the number of people ( doubtful ) but put anything in it for clothing, bedding, gear etc and you can forget it. 2) When they talk about the tent size 14ft x 10ft for example most are not square so you don't really get the full dimensions for floor space. In fact many have irregular floor dimensions so you lose even more floor space. 3) on the same note often they mention floor space including screened in areas that most often don't have a floor? tough to sleep in that if it rains. 4) they are harder to come by but I prefer a square tent with straight up vertical walls. You get a ton more headroom for the sq ft. In domed tents you also effectivly lose sq ft for anything other than sleeping as you cannot stand up close to the edge. I'm far from a tent expert just my .02

another way is to just select & copy your text a couple of times as you go through and again at the very end. That way all you have to do is cut and paste should something go wrong.
