Question About The Importance Of Matching Diameter With Braid And Its Leader.
I have some 55lb braid i use that is equivalent to 10lb (flouro) diameter. But what are the pros and cons of using something like 17lb flouro on 55 lb braid? Should i get 80lb braid for a leader that thick? Thanks in advance.

Interpretations Of Bites?
There's a wide range of variables that dictate bass fishing conduciveness. No telling how those variables lined up for you that day without being there with you, and even then i probably wouldn't have been able to tell you. But I agree with the above assumptions. I have heard a fish will bite the weight on a dropshot as well as a carolina rig. Another theory is one fish is spittin it out in the same second another fish sucks it down. It's competitive down there ya know? Set the hook when the 'ticks' are over and all you feel is solid weight. But don't wait too long, I'd rather lose a fish on a fight than land a gut hooked one.

Summer Pattern
most people are throwing big jigs and worms to those spots so i bet anything theyd be happy to see a crankbait down by those weeds.

Bass Fishing Allergic Reaction Due To Bass Cuts??
i got stuck pretty good by a striper last year and it did that exact same thing, puffed up where i got stabbed. just relax and do nothing....it goes away. unless of course you think it broke off in your hand

Transitioning Throughout The Day
i know your pain. anyone who wants to fish a deep, summer pattern without any decent electronics, are relegated to blindly probing deep areas in hopes of feeling your jig or whatever scrape up against a limb or some sort of structure. but it requires unending patience to scour the deep for cover like that. being a hundred degrees makes it that much more tedious. but when you hook up, theyre usually bigger than your average fish. i always maintain a level of confidence if there is some sort of creek channel nearby. the ole' etch-a-sketch sonar will at least be able to show you erratic depth changes

Stanley Ribbit Double Take Vs. Zoom Horny Toad Hook
go zoom horny hook especially if you're reelin' those frogs through cover. just one more point to snag something if youre using the double take. fishing with em in open water seems fine though.

Question Regarding Bass Behavior
avalons right. i saw it for the first time a couple weeks ago. the fish thinks that the bass you're reeling in is chasing baitfish.

Best Crankbait Color And Type
You can check out the article section and read for days and soak all that kinda info in and nearly burst there's so much of it. Water clarity tends to dictates color choice. There seems to be a universal rule that natural colors work well on clear waters and brighter, more obvious colors in murky waters.

A Monster In The Rain
sorry to hear it, i know the feeling. believe me, we all do here. You using a baitcaster? whatever reel youre using, set the drag kinda tight for your hookset, then loosen it back for the fight, unless your fishing with treble hooks. i remember fishing a neighborhood lake for the last time ever because people were building houses on it finally, and wanted fisherman out. I cast to a big ole mat and set the hook on what felt like a dishwasher. it didn't start thrashing or anything, just slowly swam under that mat taking line on a very tight drag from a 7'6" H rod, and just popped right off. there are no carp in there either so i know it was Nadine. i lost my temper pretty good cause i'd caught a few 6 and 7's out of there, but i knew there was a 12-13 in there, and that was my last day to try and get her. she won the final battle. so at least you have a chance to get back out there and git after her again, sorry for the long read. espresso is a hell of a drug
