  1. This s the only site I’m on, and I don’t post many pics or videos on here ether. I forget to take pictures most of the time… you know 5 minutes after you’ve turn it loose….. I think “ dang, I should have got a picture “.
  2. @Jig Man do you have any pics?
  3. I usually have a t-rigged worm of some kind. Topwater, it will be a popper or wake bait. I also like to have a boot-tail or paddle tailed, like a wild eyed storm type that I can cast close to cover when a place looks promising.
  4. You’re in my thoughts, pm if you need to.
  5. This is me….. with limited room in my little boat, they got to be used for more than one technique.
  6. Mann’s jelly in the 12” ,June bug or green pumpkin color and the 10” I use Bass Pro’s squirmin’ super worm, same colors. I haven’t had much luck with ether, few here and there. Seem to like the smaller sizes.
  7. I think a lot of us here are in the same boat..haha
  8. Silver with a blue back or the black back. The rat-l- trap or the Booyah one knocker. I use both the same way, straight retrieve or yo-yo, which ever works at the time.
  9. I’m sorry….they are such a big part of our lives.
  10. Glad you maiden voyage went well, and you got some time on the water. Does your foot pedal reach the lower deck or just the upper bow deck?
  11. We are cold for Fl this time of year. Low to mid 40’s in the mornings. Been having wind steady 10 gust to 15. Going back up in the 80’s Saturday, yo-yo weather.
  12. Congrats @Swamp Girl Built a house in NC, used 2x6’s for the walls, didn’t use spray foam, but used the appropriate size rolled insulation. Having 6” walls hade a huge difference in heating, it was only 1225 sqft. Didn't hear about the spray foam until many years later. We also had a wrap around porch under roof as well. I wish we would have had a garage that your planing on. Do you have a floor plan yet?
  13. I think a lot of us on here, started the same way. From bank or bridge fishing to canoe or anything that floated.
  14. Hope all is well with them..
  15. Haven’t use a whole worm, but I save my used worms and soft plastics to make trailers. I will take part of a straight tailed worm and split the tail
  16. I can eat me some cabbage now… raw in slaw, fried, grilled, smoked, cabbage fritters…. should I dare say it…. I even make cabbage pancakes. You eat them in place of toast for breakfast.
  17. Thanks, simple and it works.
  18. Me too That’s why the app and size ball from https://fishtechy.com/ Is sounds so easy. A quick click with the phone with ball in the picture, and you have size and weight. Back in the water they go. Hate to think I’m buying another fishing gimmick….hahaha
  19. A few years ago I made a decision to learn hard baits. My plan was to fish only hard baits, no plastic, no Texas rigging, just hard bodied lures, for one whole season. I picked out a rig from my hodgepodge collection of combos. Got on eBay, and Bass Pro, got me inexpensive lures, started my crank bait adventure.. Man did I have a lot of fishless days…. I mean my knuckles would be thumping the dock boards and my head hung low, when I got home. Things were looking grim for me that season. Then, something clicked, and I started catching fish. To be honest I just was trying to stay true to my commitment and make it through the season, and fish soft plastics again. I think I was putting too much thought and effort into what I was fishing with,…. rod, reel, line, color, even type bait. I switched to figuring out how to fish with what I had and not what I was fishing with. If that makes sense. It was how I worked the rod, not what reel was on it. Square bills snag way less than I thought they would, fish closer around cover. Trying different retrieves, long sweeps, short, pause, fast, slow, even stopping and let it float to the surface worked too. Sorry this is long, but seemed like a long season.
  20. I’ve heard about 13x, is it quiet, or do you hear the whirrrrr when you cast? A while back @WRB-2.0 had told me about a braid called fins. He said size to pound test was smaller and it was very smooth. I’ve never found anybody else that has used or heard of it but it got good reviews
  21. I’ve thought about one of theses https://fishtechy.com/
  22. I’m using Berkeley X-9 , it the quietest I’ve found.
  23. I’m horrible at guessing weights, I’m always way wrong. I think it’s because I don’t have a reference point. In a picture I pick out something in the back ground or even the hands and fingers holding the fish. A person then can a do a quick reference/ comparison for size. Guessing the weight….. I go nothing, even holding it, I’m way wrong.
  24. Sorry to hear that about you splitting up. Moving sounds like it something you want. After a break up I always felt like I’m was in limbo, not knowing which directions to go. It all falls in to place eventually. The real question is …. Is the fishing good in your hometown? Just kidding… Holler if ya need to, just a PM away.
  25. I buy a lot of stuff at yard sales, eBay and Amazon. I don’t know the names of them or they are knock offs. I do buy from bass pro their XPS series. I like 3/8 or 1/2 size, in bluegill or perch pattern. They seem to do well around here.
