I’m a neighbor of yours in Illinois in a South West Chicago suburb and this has been one of the craziest springs I can personally remember in a long time. I threw a rod in the van this morning but didn’t get a chance to stop after work but I’m definitely going to try again tomorrow.

I agree I’ve been pondering fishing. Every time I start catching. Winter pops back up lol

Hot, cold, then hot, cold, I'm going tomorrow and I'm gonna catch fish. Goodluck @Darth-Baiter

It's been just under 100° here for the last three days. The bass have been chewing up just about everything thrown at them. I went yesterday after work for a couple of hours. My only regret was losing a Vision 110.

Last Wednesday it was 80 here so my brother and I fished. Didn't get skunked but close. The next day we had snow and 30's.

We are cold for Fl this time of year. Low to mid 40’s in the mornings. Been having wind steady 10 gust to 15.

Going back up in the 80’s Saturday, yo-yo weather.

Yeah, we skipped spring and went right back to winter. Happens every March.

Sunday was Snow & 50+ MPH winds...Monday was a low of 9 degrees....yesterday broke a record that stood since 1934. (go back to bed Mother Nature....you're drunk!)

I am headed to the lake this morning. We will see what today brings...

We’ve been up and down with last week lows in the teens. Yesterday it got to 86°. The ups and downs haven’t had much effect on the lake water temp. As for the fish a week ago we had a good trip right after a cold front and yesterday it was better. The fish were still in the same areas on shallow gravel/ rocky banks in 3-6 feet of water.

Water temp here is still in the 30s. Wind gust today up to 30 mph. Patience.

We're predicted for 62 today, 74 tomorrow....but we'll have guys out on the ice still as it's 8"-10" thick still in a lot of places.

And on Tuesday morning it was just -2 degrees. 80 degree swing in a matter of days.

It's the ridge of high pressure sitting over the southwest. Aka the dome of hot air. That pattern often develops in May or June. Not March. Phoenix hit 100 the other day for the earliest triple digit reading ever, by over a week.

I know many of us have complained about winter this year, but I have a feeling there are going to be just as many complaints about this persistent heat dome too. Hope it doesn't last for months on end.

I'm in northern Illinois. On Monday we had 7 additional inches of snow. Tomorrow we're supposed to hit 70 degrees. However, I don't find the local rivers and creeks worth fishing until we consistently have night time temps above freezing.

March is the Sybil of months weather wise 😛

That's wild because they're in the mid to high 50's here.

If skipping spring means we can skip the crappie spawn idiots, I'm all for it.

Water temp my lake is between 66 and 76 every day of the year. Makes it hard to blame the weather when I skunk.

Very irratic here also with 50* swings in temperature.

Heading out Tuesday regardless.

I live two miles from the North Atlantic, so everyday is pretty much the same day: Cold to cool in March, but perfect from May through October.
