  1. I use super lube too, I’ve been happy with it. I only tear mine down once a year though.
  2. Yep a cup of coffee, a egg & cheese biscuit, and knowing you’ll be on the water….. it’s all good. Even if ya get skunked you’ll still have a better day than your friends who didn’t want to come. But you won’t get skunked, your Darth Baiter! May the fish force be with you. let us know how ya do. And pics too.
  3. Same here in central Fl on the St John’s ….
  4. Congrats to your friend…. Where’d you get her at Ski? Please tell me you guys where fishing down by me. The bite has been slow around here, that would be a sign things are picking up.
  5. Like WRB said… wetting the bunks helps the boat slide a little better. Some people are changing their bunks to the composite wood ones to slide better. A fella was in the parking lot, at the ramp, he was installing plastic gutters upside down over his bunks. Told us his buddy had done it and was happy with. Did give us warning… don’t unhook your boat until your down the ramp.
  6. I I fish this way too.
  7. I usually change to all the colors I think that might work before moving. So for me it would location, now with that being said. If I do try a new color and start catching a lot, I’d probably go back and fish that area again.
  8. Congratulations! what did ya catch it on?
  9. That was my Dad’s methodology too. ” I bought this bait to catch fish with it or, lose it, trying to catch fish with it.”
  10. I know….Right. Like I said it probably not the best method… but I do have brand names I’ve had for years. LOL
  11. I use both too… I know this may sound dumb…but, I use some baits according to risk factors. Example… I‘ll fish a cheap off brand lipless crank bait around stumps and trees and other crap were it’s a high risk factor of losing them. I fish my name brand rattle traps out in the open water where it’s less likely to loss them. This is probably NOT the best method, as you don’t use the better baits we’re the fish are more likely to be.
  12. I have the BPS 35 AUTO, type II…It’s only $69.97, had it for about 2-3 years. When I was looking at auto inflatables, I tried to stay with a type II vest. More likely to keep an unconscious person face up. The type was more important to me than pounds of buoyancy. I bought the Bass Pro for the price, but am going to buy the Mustang H.I.T. Because I like to fish in the rain, it is activated by water pressure, not just getting wet. Mustang has 2 versions of the H.I.T. models… one a 28lb. and the other is a 35lb. I’m getting the bigger one, I figured a little more buoyancy isn’t going to hurt. I wear one from when I step in the boat until I’m out… fish with it on the whole nine yards.( made a promise to the wife, cause of med. condition) I haven’t had any problems with the Bass Pro one, its comfortable and sometimes I forget I’m wearing it. It’s all so cost less to re-arm. I’m just afraid it’s going to go off in the rain. Sorry this is so long. G
  13. I don’t know anything about them either. I know a guy that fished them when he was younger, said it was pretty cut throat and dog eat dog kinda deal. The tournament fisher people ( trying to be politically correct) that come by the dock are all seem ok.
  14. Let’s not forget MOTÖRHEAD
  15. BPS CARBONLITE. I walk in to a BPS with the intention of buying a new bait caster for around $250.00. It was a huge purchase….a lot of money for me. BPS salesman showed me a carbonlite rod and reel for $70.00 each, in house sale. I beat myself up all the home, should stick to my plan an bought the Lews, all most turned around. I’m so glad I didn’t, it’s my go to rig, I use it the most. So my sleeper is a BPS carbonlite 6.8.
  16. That’s a pretty big bait where did ya get it
  17. How do your knots hold up?
  18. I love wake baits too! One of my favorites is “ the egg” from BPS, Texas shad. I just ordered some from Aliexpress, 1/4 & 3/16 ounce …. Setting up a BFS rig and lures to take on vacation.
  19. I love fishing new areas too, the excitement of “this may be the spot”….
  20. I almost lost three rigs at the same time. I was pushing my luck with an oncoming storm, I took off heading for home. I was approaching a swell just as I noticed, the four rods on deck weren’t secured. It was just a little bounce, but enough to sent three rods over the edge, just hanging on by the reels on the gunnel. I was able to save the rigs and put them away, but not before taking a wave over the side. It put about 10 gallons in the boat. Things could’ve been worse, all because I didn’t leave when I should’ve.
  21. No doubt, I got to go fish Texas. I’ve had hooks bend but not a split ring fail. Gonna go check mine out.
  22. I think the fish do move or tuck themselves in some where, or just stop biting, when a lot of pressure is put on them. I know an area where I’ve seen 5 or more boats circling around running trolling motors, have their sonar, fish finders etc…. Most of them are throwing spinner bait or rattle traps, few are pitching the pads, but they aren’t catching anything. I think they see the fish on their gear but with all the commotion they’re not biting. I’ve went their in the middle of the week and caught fish, all small ones, but I’ll be the only boat in there. I believe too it takes a while to get the to calm down, like bartableman7 said Wednesday is better. I’ve read that some of the big bass hunters turn off their gear off when moving into an area where they think big bass are.
  23. Hi from the Sunshine State of Fl
