  1. I use as little as I have too, 1/4 on occasion. Any thing above that I switch to jigs.
  2. I have always liked the rapala jointed lures…..I always did well with the j-9 silver and black. The torpedo was a good one too, don’t know why they kept getting overlooked. Theses have be tried and true for a long time, going to tie one on next time I’m out. Thanks
  3. I still use split shot too, sometimes I just want a little bit of weight. Can’t beat’em.
  4. Hi from the Sunshine State of Fl.
  5. Don’t let these guys fool ya… I bet they got bin of plastics in all colors….. it’s all you need….. just buy both of them. Just be like the rest of us and buy all the colors. It stings a little at first, but when you just “go with it” it gets easier. But really.. get green pumpkin, watermelon with red flake, June bug first… then all the other colors.
  6. The Bait Monkey done swooped in on everybody on this post and whooped up on all of of ya. But you my friend might need to seek therapy…… hope everyone know I’m just kidding. Bait Monkey just got me too waiting on my order…. assorted lures..
  7. R.I.P. And respect

Hi from the Sunshine State of Fl
  10. I see the pro’s come by the house “pre fishing” but they aren’t really fishing. I see them cruising around looking at their screens. I’m not sure they even fish, when they are pre fishing. I think they are marking spots and coming back around to check of the fish are still there. I might be totally wrong, it’s just my theory. They used to fish by the dock and chit chat, but now it’s heads down and eyes on the screens.
  11. I absolutely want a quiet reel, I use abec7 rated bearings. As far as casting distance goes, didn’t notice much between 5 or 7 rated bearings. I sure did hear the difference though.
  12. Can you image trying to get that unhooked from a fish…. Dangerous for fish and fisherman or fisherwoman to be politically correct.
  13. Hi from the St. John’s river area In Fl. You’ll learn a lot here.
  14. Me ether….. glad I didn’t have to pick them out of a line up.
  15. Please let us know what the problem was when you get it figured out, might happen to somebody else. We’re you using when it stopped working or pulled it out of the truck and wasn’t working?
  16. Might be a stupid tube from secret lure… Cooper head color https://shop.secretlures.com/products/3-7-stupid-tube.html
  17. My Dad I were wade, fishing for smallies, he got broke off at a spot. On our way walking back, he said “ let me try and catch the one that got away”. We stopped , he fished the area, and believe it or not he caught the fish that had his rig hanging out of the side of his lip. We laughed about that for a long time.
  18. I’ve learned so much from here. I totally believe I catch more fish because of the knowledge I’ve collected from here.
  19. I’m not sure who makes what for who, so it’s hard to be “brand loyal”. I do know what ever reel manufacture have different standards for different “private labeling”, and the price reflects that standard too. I like Bass Pro, but the have different suppliers for different reels from year to year. I have a few different brands and I like them all. I’m currently looking at some BFS rigs for a travel setup…. I thinking Kastking not sure yet.
  20. I personally haven’t caught anything on the one knockers, bought a couple, one chrome blue back, nothing, but my multiple rattle one has caught fish. I know it’s got to be me, just haven’t caught anything.
  21. I know what ya mean…. My first bag of Zoom trick worms was motor oil, it had a purple hue to it, almost translucent. Maybe it was motor oil/ purple not sure. I think zoom has definitely changed it color of them.
  22. Zoom trick …., not quite 6” but zoom finesse I use a lot too.
  23. hi from the Sunshine State of Fl
  24. I agree I’ve have new reels gunked up with stiff grease.
