  1. I hate hearing about things like this. It’s sad for everyone involved.
  2. Mine too, when I found it , it didn’t look like a fuse holder. Looked like a double wire connection, when I pulled it apart, it even had a spare fuse right beside it. I made sure I put another spare back in the holder.

Does anybody have any experience with Madbite bladed jigs. Made by or for Kastking, they are about half the price of name brand chatter baits….. never used any of them before. Just thought I’d ask everyone’s opinion of them.
  4. Net bait works for me, paca chunk is a little small, they have a bunch of other trailers too twin tail is good too. Reasonably priced too.
  5. I’ve had little gar come up and nip the legs of my frogs before. Lost many of tails off my curly tailed worms to what ever was down there

  8. He probably just didn’t know proper fishing rules. I think you did all right. Hopefully he’ll help the next and so forth. Maybe he is reading this forum and goes “oh crap,…. That was me” Maybe one day they will have a section, “proper fishing etiquette” you have to read before you get your fishing license.
  9. Almost the same thing happened to my Dad and I. wade fishing for small mouth’s, Dad hooked one , got broke off. Walking back to the car he fished the area again, caught the same fish with his bait hanging out the side of its mouth. We laughed for years about that.
  10. I don’t spend time on the water trying to fix plastics, I do however save them, use what I can for trailers, Ned rig or anything else. I melt the rest and pour them in some molds I have. I have never caught anything on the baits I’ve poured but, it’s fun to do.

  12. I really don’t like going too small of braid, on any rig I’m going to be pulling hard with. The line seems to dig in the other layers of line on the spool. Can make casting, especially with a bait casters, more prone too bird nesting. Even with spinning rigs, it can short stop your line. Heavier braid does it too, just have to pull harder.. it all relative to what your doing I guess.
  13. I keep all my ripped plastics and use what pieces I can for trailers on spinner or buzz baits. Then when I’ve used every bit I can, I save and melt down for some molds for I have have and make my own worms. Never caught anything from what I’ve made but, they’re fun to make.
  14. Too be totally honest, I really couldn’t give the those braids any rating. I’ve haven’t used those before….. heard a lot of good things about 832, but never actually used it first hand. I only have braid on 2 setups… my dock rig ( spinning reel)and my pitching in heavy cover rig( bait caster). I really like mono, I use it for everything else.
  15. I use Berkeley X9 40#
  16. I live on St John’s River, so travel to to river won’t change. My fishing boat is a 15ft, aluminum mod V with a 25 hp 4 stroke Yamaha. It is really easy on fuel, I feel I’m pretty lucky on that, but I still will be fishing closer to home. I’d rather go more often closer to home, than less farther away.

  19. But I use 12#
  20. I know you can get baits with out them, removing the rattle balls would effect the weight., plus once you filled the hole it might throw off the balance. Drilling a very small hole and filling with foam. If you make sure the rattle balls are down on the bottom when you fill it , so the bait will still run true. Might be easier to buy without the rattle.

I went to Walmart, they are a dollar there. I think I’ve got every color they have and duplicates of some , white, black and chartreuse. Got their spinner baits too. You might have to tweak them a little bit, but they do catch fish. An inexpensive way to get started in buzz and spinner baits, plus I don’t feel as bad when I loose one.
  22. I had to smile when reading your post. I remember running all the way home from the river…. Trying not to be late, but knowing I was late an hour ago. Thanks
