  1. Blue Raider Bob, Glad you were able to get some fishing in, and that you caught some fish. I went out too on Wednesday, hadn’t been in a while. We are still lightly flooded here on the St John’s. I got skunked… still had fun though.
  2. I like it when I can fix things myself, and $57.00 you can spend on tackle or a little bit of fuel.
  3. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-35auto-auto-inflatable-life-vest-101155070 Ive got this one… It’s not hydrostatic, works when it gets wet, pretty reasonable too.
  4. LrgmouthShad, is this a man made lake?
  5. Ok I’m going to use this ^^^^….. I went out today…… total skunk!!! So sometimes the fish bite better when a front come through, but not all the time…hahaha I got a couple bumps, I think, other than that …… NADA!. I still had fun though… beautiful day.
  6. Even a summer rain front pushing through will turn on the bite. We’ve got a cold front coming ( well a cold front of Florida….. 65/40’s at night) in on the 15-16th with rain too. Might try to go out today, beat the rain. I’ll fish in the rain in the summer but not when it’s cold. I know …I know…..before all the northern people get on me, that’s cold for here. Hahaha
  7. That was one of the reason I have left handed bait casters… I like fishing Texas rigged smaller, lighter baits with a spinning rig too.
  8. This is what I do….. works great.
  9. Keeping the simplest survival gear with you can make deadly situation turn into just an very uncomfortable situation. Then you live to tell the tale to others. A way to start a fire, emergency blanket, even keeping a folded up piece of plastic to help make shelter, might make or break ya.

Nice catches, where were you fishing at?
  11. A day to remember for sure.
  12. The pros fish around my dock when a tournament comes through. Camera boats, drones flying around, its quite the show. One caught over a 7 lb in between mine and neighbors dock. I fish that area all the time, testing reels I’ve worked on etc. or just killing a little time. Ricky C caught almost 9lb two docks down, under my buddy’s dock, he’s always fishing around his dock too. Something to be said to the way the pros do it….. technic, bait, confidence, presentation or what. Then again maybe it’s just me.
  13. I have always like wade fishing, caught a lot of smallies stealth wading in the river. It was to small for any boats, but had a lot of fish.

Hi from the Sunshine State of Fl
  16. I’m not one to just watch someone fish…. I do instructional, how too and why videos. Gear reviews are interesting to me too. I agree with ol’crickey, if your gonna teaching me something, tell me and show me too and why. How to rig different baits and fish them. I like underwater clips too, how the bait is actually working or how it’s supposed to look like. I know nothing is chiseled in concrete with fishing artificial baits…slow down ,speed up, bounce it of the bottom, but what worked for them is nice too.
  17. I have two rigs with braid, which I use around docks and heavy cover….. my flipping and pitching set ups. Everything else is mono…I didn’t like the noise ether. I wasn’t worried about the fish hearing it. I could hear it, and didn’t like it, totally a personal quirk.

  19. Great choices ……Caught many of fish on those two lures, I always have them. I even have extras “in waiting” in case I lose one.
  20. I have had both here in Fl. I definitely preferred the Jon boat better. More room, stability and the ability to upgrade with motor etc. One thing was the ability to stand up and fish or just see better. I know the have kayaks you stand up in but mine wasn’t.
  21. Same here, when I lived in NC and was smallie fishing a lot, jig with a netbait paca craws. I found out you had to almost put it right in front of them for a bite. During the winter, they would pool in the deeper holes. The road was higher than the river, so you could site fish the deep holes, but the bite was real hard to get.
  22. I had a map in a gallon zip bag for a long time, that a guy at a road side food stand drew for me on the back of a flier for a poker run. It finally gave up the ghost and mildewed. Same in Florida haha
  23. Didn’t put up the tree until a few days before Xmas or even Christmas Eve, and it came down New Year’s Day. I mean the house was decorated, wreaths, lights inside and out. Just no Xmas tree until then. My aunt was the day after Thanksgiving, everything went up, stayed there until mid January.
  24. Thank you, Mobasser Love tidbits of knowledge like that.
