  1. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida, well, you’ve come to the right place to ask questions. I learned a lot from here.

I’ve fish them Texas rigged with a 4/0-5/0 worm hook and wacky rigged both weightless. Color, I guess is relative to what kind of water you’re fishing. I keep green pumpkin, junebug, and bubble gum on stock all the time.
  8. BPS stick-o, green pumpkin or bubblegum.
  9. Haha…. Heck, couple more years he can wash and service your boat and cut the grass too.
  10. Bass Pro Shops XPS Tungsten Finesse Jig - 1/8 oz. It’s skirted
  11. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida.
  12. Nice catch, what water did ya catch it?
  13. Thanks. That's kind of you I Remember looking out and seeing river frozen but in a few places…. I had to pace myself on doing winter fishing tasks so I wouldn’t get done to early.
  14. Are ya already getting cabin fever already Crickety? I feel for you and everyone else who gets shut out in the winter. I have some down time too, it’s by choice. I give the fish a break during spawning season, I bother them enough the rest of the year. I liked the article too, some of the things I already do, some I try to do this year. I usually change line, clean & lube my rod and reels, service the boat, that kinda thing.
  15. That over $2.00 a lure for the hard baits, then add spinner baits, and bobbers, plus you get the Plano boxes and the bag. If you had to purchase new, all of theses baits and boxes and bag, it’s not a bad price.
  16. A jig with skirt and a net bait paca craw…. Green pumpkin color for both. That was my winter “go to” bait when I fished for smallies in the winter.
  17. My boat already listing to one side…..
  18. Certain times of the year they can be nasty. I had one that didn’t want me in an area, it would rush at the boat and thrash the water. Probably a female, and I was too close to her mound. A huge male bellowed beside me once, I was in a 12 ft Jon boat…… I found another place to fish that day.

Hi from the Sunshine State of Fl. I started out trout fishing, then I started salt water, snook, reds. I moved again and got hooked on small mouth, now I’m in Florida and Largemouth fishing. I think we all go through the fishing phase of different types.
  20. Hi from the Sunshine State of Fl I’ve learned a lot from here, This is the place for knowledge.
  21. I know a guy that Spec fishes, has the spider rig, with about a dozen rods out. He didn’t have a good day of fishing unless limits out. Comes back with coolers full, cleans them and ready for the next day. Those spider rigs seem like a lot of work…… I use to kid him and tell him wasn’t fishing he was “plowing for tators” and was harvesting. Got nothing against it, just not my cup of tea.
  22. “There they be monsters” I fish the Ocklawaha a lot, they’re is a ton of gators in those waters. I’ve had the shallow water alarm go off on the depth/ fish finder because on of big boys passed under my boat while fishing. Do you have/carry and extra set of keys now? LOL.
  23. I like everything about fishing, the gear, tackle, being out in the environment……good or bad. How many times have we heading out to go fishing in bad weather? I enjoy casting too, the smoothness of the reel as the lure sails towards the target. Watching it hits it’s mark, hoping for that reaction strike that happens when the lure makes contact with the water. Like the tackle too, how many of us are going organize and probably reorganize our stuff this winter. Who here doesn’t enjoy prepping the night before? Getting your stuff ready, putting line conditioner on, tying on couple lures, loading up what ya can. Let’s go fishing.
