What year is this Daiwa, we’re they any good?
Hi Everyone, Can anyone tell me about what year this reel is. It was left behind by the previous property owner. I put in a box and forgot it , until now. Looks like it might have been a decent reel for its time. Found a parts breakdown but no year. It’s really stiff, going to need a good cleaning. Thanks in advance for any help G

Spinnerbait equivalent of a Jackhammer
I know this isn’t everybody favorite but I like the Walmart ones. They are usually around $1.00 apiece and you get different colors and blades, I probably have 2 of each. You can tweak them, switch blades, add beads or what not. Couple pair of pliers handful of spinner baits and I can have fun on a bad weather day. They do catch fish, and they have buzz baits too. Music on your boat ?
That’s what I have, I rarely use it though. I forget about it most of the time. I’ve got friends that believe it attracts the fish in, not blasting just the low vibrations….Me…. If I’m big bass hunting, I turn off all electronics, lift the trolling motor and pole in the area, …..ghost style.

What happens when water temperature doesn’t change. What trigger the spawn?
I thought it was the temp of the water changing temp that triggered “the spawn” never thought about length of of day could trigger it too. The river is only about 6 miles long,( Rainbow river, Fl.) I know it has LB, caught dinks before. Under a pound, some I wondered how they got hooked. Seen a lot bigger ones but they ignore everything I’ve thrown.

What happens when water temperature doesn’t change. What trigger the spawn?
It didn’t even occur the length of the day could trigger spawn. That make sense, as the days start to get longer, means it’s spring….. time to have babies.

What happens when water temperature doesn’t change. What trigger the spawn?
After reading the thread from Buzzbaiter, “can’t catch fish in the spring” got me thinking. What happens in spring fed rivers where the temperature of the water doesn’t change? What triggers the spawn? The water is a constant low 70’s all year round, and crystal clear. Water temp is what makes the spawn right? Or am I wrong? I’ve fished this river and it’s “ It’s a hard row to hoe” water gin clear, cold and has a steady current….. I forget how many gal a sec come out of the spring head.

Float pods on a bass boat
Been thinking about that with mine, please let us know how it works. What size are those.

How accurate are you estimating a fishes weight ?
When I catch the fish, it looks like it weighs more. When my brother in law catches it looks like it weighs less. At least that what razz each other about. Really I’m horrible at guessing the weight, I’m mean I’m off by a lot.

Traveling with rods in a sedan
I know a lot of people don’t like them, you could get a two piece. I keep two collapsible rigs in my truck. A spinning and a bait caster, not the best rods by far, or reels. But it does give me a opportunity to fish if I get the chance.
